Floating/Hovering Stance

Hi All

What do you all think of a stance that is always floating/hovering?

    You mean flight?

We sort of already have that with the Idle_Swimmer emote, even without flight you are above the ground.

Then again, if you're floating...it's more likely you can also fly so why not take flight and use that?

That's a good point, but what I was wondering if we had a stance, say for example like Tititna from Warframe or the Wisp, where your at normal walking speed (without any TP on) but your feet don't touch the ground, this will be ideal for ghost toons or toons who do not have "feet".

  • The thing about having a floating stance is that it would still apply during nttg effects. For some characters that are always floating, suddenly having them on the ground makes about as much sense as Batman suddenly levitating.

In any case, the stance already exists and is used by at least one become device; it simply needs to be extended to normal characters.

If you're talking about Djinn, I think that's just a costume part which replaces / makes legs invisible.

Ghosts are the primary culprit for needing this.

One of my alts is a parapalegic psion who uses Telekinesis to float, so having a stance that keeps this consistent would be nice, instead of... Arbitrarily being able to walk at times or use lower body-strength to heave themselves back to their feet.

There's also the fact that Flight takes up energy, and in some cases is (or at least really feels) slower than just walking.

NPCs like Valerian Scarlet are actually using a floating stance, so it is already in the game. It's really just up to Cryptic if they want to allow players to use it.
