This is the Build I've been using on the test server from my high lvl toon. I didn't really mess with the super stats or specializations.

I also am unsure if the energy unlock is the right one or should I go for Thermal Reverberation? I also went with Enrage w/ Endorphin Rush, and Fissure w/ Reconstruct for the healing.

As always comments and suggestions are welcome.

Thx in advance!

Thermal Reverb would be iffy here if the only way to guarantee Clinging Flames was to fully channel Firebreath. If you wanted to use TR, I'd recommend using Flashfire or Brimstone w/ adv, and then changing Int SS to End SS. MSA works alright as long as ur using Fissure and ur heal regularly, though the build may benefit from having a lunge for a quick & cheap MSA proc.

Concerning the heal: BCR is okay, but I'd prob make it Conviction, since the build isn't dodge-based and BCR has a 10% final dmg penalty.

I guess that R2 of Enrage is mostly just for ya to be larger out of combat w/ Giant Growth, cause otherwise you'd want to pass on ranking it. I would skip on using Fury of the Dragon; if ya wanted to use an ultimate here then I'd make that Unleashed Rage.

The build is lacking in a decent single-target attack for bosses and such. I'd prob make that Haymaker or Massacre if using Enrage (if sticking to Earth for the theme, that'd normally be Upheaval w/ Enrage, but Upheaval's dps is rather low). Ya also have some redundant AoE attacks that could be dropped to make room. Ya may want to consider Defiance (instead of Invuln) for the extra energy if using something like Haymaker or Massacre.

Thx flowcyto for the comment, I have since lvl'd to 29 and changed up my powers some, I defiantly am liking the current format and adding a lunge to get in range for quicksand works great, also helps when knocked away to get back into the fight. My current attack goes as Fissure -> Void Shift -> quicksand (or Charged Fireball while the target is stunned), are quick taps of fireball to finish them off, and yes I keep quick taps of void shift for MSA proc. I may still add another single target attack. (I kinda had to take Fireball as Fire Breath wasn't hitting very hard and there was no other good powers to take before breaking away from fire, and the rock power builders don't fit my theme very well, Fire/Rock Dragon) Massacre may fit the the theme, any tail swipe type powers anyone can think of ? I really haven't had to much energy problems so far with this build. I will pick up unbreakable next and then I'm outta ideas as what to fill in the last powers with. Is conviction the only other good heal?

MSA works well w/ Conviction. Bionic Shielding can be decent, but its prob out-of-theme here due to its visual effects, and is better suited to other EUs since its not technically a cd power (its debuff makes it an effective one, though).

I don't think there's any anims in the game where ur toon just spins around once w/o kicking or sticking their arms out or anything. Inex Tides in MA is prob the closest thing to a 'tail whip' (which would also work w/ Enrage), but its prob a bit too acrobatic looking. It would be nice to have more ways of stacking Enrage here, regardless, but I guess Massacre suits that fine.

I decided to update my current build, I am at lvl 35, trying to decide what power to take next, to either go with Massacre instead of Tremor. Not sure if the aoe on tremor knocking more then one effects Enrage? or would Massacre actually be better? Tremor is still a fun power that fits his style though. I'm not having any energy issues so I will probably keep Invulnerability.

*(oh also if your using huge beast as a stance Inex Tides does look like a tail swipe)

You can have both for an Enrage build: Massacre for up-close but strong melee dps, and Tremor for ranged AoE dps. I'd prob drop one of the other AoEs that can't proc Enrage, though (so Fireball or Quicksand) as there's redundancy there,

Other main flaw here- Enrage scales w/ Strength, but you still didn't SS that here. The build would be less restrictive if you used FotTempest in MA (procs off any attack crit), though that means using Dex SS and skipping Enrage.

Here's how I'd prob approach the build, if it were to keep Enrage:

    (Unnamed Build) - Freeform

    Super Stats
    Level 6: Strength (Primary)
    Level 10: Intelligence (Secondary)
    Level 15: Constitution (Secondary)

    Talents

Level 6: Covert Ops Training (Str: 3, Dex: 3, Con: 3, Int: 3)
Level 9: Physical Conditioning (Str: 5, Con: 5)
Level 12: Healthy Mind (Con: 5, Int: 5)
Level 15: Body and Mind (Str: 5, Int: 5)
Level 18: Quick Recovery (Con: 5, Rec: 5)
    Level 21: Relentless (Str: 5, Rec: 5)

    Powers
    Level 1: Wield Earth
    Level 1: Tremor (Rank 2, Rank 3)
    Level 6: Enrage (Endorphin Rush)
    Level 8: Invulnerability (Rank 2)
    Level 11: Pounce (Furious Rush)
    Level 14: Molecular Self-Assembly
    Level 17: Conviction (Rank 2, Rank 3)
    Level 20: Massacre (Rank 2, Rank 3)
    Level 23: Resurgence (Rank 2)
Level 26: Fissure (Rank 2, Reconstruct)
Level 29: Stone Shroud (Rank 2)
Level 32: Pyre (Rank 2, Backdraft)
Level 35: Immolation (Rank 2, Blazing Body)
    Level 38: Rebirth
    Adv. Points: 33/36

    Travel Powers
    Level 6:
    Level 35:

    Specializations
    Strength: Swole (3/3)
    Strength: Physical Peak (2/3)
    Strength: Brutality (2/2)
    Strength: Juggernaut (2/3)
    Strength: Overpower (1/3)
    Warden: Fortified Gear (3/3)
    Warden: Ruthless (2/2)
    Warden: Elusive (2/2)
    Warden: The Best Defense (3/3)
    Vindicator: Aggressive Stance (2/2)
    Vindicator: Merciless (3/3)
    Vindicator: Focused Strikes (3/3)
    Vindicator: Mass Destruction (2/3)
    Mastery: Strength Mastery (1/1)

Immolation isn't an ideal AO, but it is thematic here.. so I kept it. Gears mostly for the 3 SS's listed.

I have a few questions about some powers.

    1. Does Tremor's Extra ranks do more damage? (The text when picking the power does note show this, not sure if it is fixed on the live server)

    2. If Enrage scales with strength, can I just use it as a dump stat as I remember it having either a hard cap or soft cap?

    3. Also do I have to many attacks? I could get rid of Bionic Shielding to get more points for challenge for tanking and get lighting reflexes. Also not sure if I need Inexorable Tides? maybe get a breakout power for holds?

    4. I know I really like Con as the super stat and am wondering if ego would be better then int for damage? or does it all scale the same if i still have int.?

**I really want this toon to be rock like invulnerable and hard to damage (like the Thing from Fantastic 4)**
*I also really want to try to keep Quicksand since I really like it and don't use it on any other toon.*

    Thx again in advance
  • flowcytoflowcyto Posts: 12,852 Arc User
The problem with Quicksand is that it won't trigger Enrage on its own. If you are using it, though, then adding most other AoEs like Tremor, Pyre, or Inex Tides is a bit redundant. Speaking of Tremor- the rank thing is just a tooltip error on the adv point screen; you still get the benefit of normal ranks as expected. Con PSS is also not ideal for non-tanks.

If Enrage is your toggle, then you want to main stat Strength, regardless of the soft-cap (which is only for its innate melee dmg bonus- not the SS bonus or toggle bonus). It may also be tricky to afford Massacre spam w/o using Defiance, as its a bit costly. You could change to a FotT + Dex build too, and that will allow you to use a wider array of attacks, even if its crit-based. Then you could go more easy on the filler attack's energy w/ something like Shred + Warden Mastery.

For AoE, you can open w/ Flashfire, lunge in, and fill time w/ Quicksand while using Flashfire and Fissure on cd. The single-target rotation can be similar, except using Shred as the main filler attack instead of Quicksand. Its important to keep Flashfire up here for Clinging Flames, regardless. Gears mostly for Dex, w/ some Con and End.

    Thx Flow for the explanation

Also for Shockwave, does the knock in that work with Enrage? (says if fully maintained)

  • I would get earth splitter fir rnaged a d annihilate for close melee. If u have imaginary weapons will look barw handed. Also earth splitter splits thebground open andnlooks like lava or fire under.

I would get earth splitter fir rnaged a d annihilate for close melee. If u have imaginary weapons will look barw handed. Also earth splitter splits thebground open andnlooks like lava or fire under.
I have to admit, its a bit annoying to see a buncha random old threads necro'd like this:

Can you please not do that in the future?
