Earth, Wind, Fire and Ice, The Four Elements Build

Yep I'm working on another build. Any and all advice is appreciated. Remember that this is another Freeform build. I'm thinking of Avatar: The Last Airbender or Korra.

Because you are talking about many diff powersets, it'd prob be easier to start by asking if you have any particular powers that you'd like to include in the build first- even if its just for thematic reasons.

Okay yea, obv you'll have to trim some stuff, even just cause the build is missing some foundational things like a toggle/form or EU. You included Defiance and Con PSS, though, so is this meant to be a formal tank? And yea, you would need to decide on what AoEs to keep and which to axe. Could also make room for some heals and/or ADs, and maybe a block enhancer.

I think the EU can be TReverb if you want to keep Flashfire, and then just remember to use it when its available. Otherwise, just use MSA + some cd powers. The toggle/form would normally be Conc or Chilled Form for the elemental stuff, but w/ the inclusion of Dragon Kick I'm less sure, as Dragon Rush won't do much w/o an MA form, yet MA forms are melee-focused ones. If you want to mainly be in melee range using stuff like DK, then you prob just want to take FotT and have Dex SS'd.

Firestrike and Gust are single-target attacks already.. just somewhat redundant ones in this case, and not very strong ones cause they're blasts. Its okay if you want to still include one of them in the final build, though.

I guess I should next ask, what powers of those listed do you want to keep the most? If I knew more about that and the melee vs range playstyle then its easier to formulate something. Also, what sort of content do you want to be doing with this? If its only for casual stuff, you could prob get away w/ a hybrid-dps build using AoPM for the versatility.

I have no idea which passive I should take. The rest of the build is open to change.

Eh, you stuck w/ two single-target blasts still (Gust and Fire Strike). I know those may be the first powers you want to keep, but I'd rather not have 2 blasts in the build when those attacks themselves are already pretty weak. You could, say, alternate between a blast and a charged attack like Fireball, Cave In, or Ice Spear using Avenger's Preemptive Strike, though. It'd be easier to do that in a committed ranged build instead of one that mixes melee and ranged.

Also, is this build going to be tackling any high-end content? Hybrid AoPM builds can be versatile, for ex, but you generally don't want to bring them to Cosmics and the like. If its going to be more specialized, then you prob want to use a dps role and a general offensive passive like Night Warrior.

I've tried this 7 ways from Sunday and it just does not work well. It is just too many special effects to fit in one build. I mean, how many different ST or AOE attacks do you need? My recommendation would be to do something with a few of the temp or pseudo pet DoTs, like Dust Devil or Wall of Ice. Then pick up a solid single-target, like Cave-In. And a nice AOE like Conflagration. That way, you have all the elements covered.

The passive is really an issue. You have Elemental (Cold and Fire) and Crushing damage types. Stormbringer gets Crushing and Cold, but leaves out Fire. Ice Form gets Cold and Fire, but leaves out Crushing. Your best bet is probably Night Warrior, which also gives you Sneak, so that's fun.

For your Form, probably just go with Chilled Form. Stats go Ego/Dex/??? and stack Dex.

For your Energy Unlock, probably pick one of the elementals like Thermal Reverb, or Icy Embrace. Then you can finish it out with a block, AO, AD, and whatever flavor powers.

It certainly won't be top tier in performance, but it will do respectably and keep your theme solid.

Here's an approach that's mostly fire and ice because there exists some synergy there. Earth is represented through Invulnerability and by costume. Something rocky. Whirlwind gives you a situational wind power you can use to group enemies for your AoE's. And add more earth and wind with travel powers like Tornado Flight, Earth Flight, Tunneling or Ninja Leaves TP.

Well, losta diff combos possible here. Hard to really settle on a set of them for me.. If I had to give an example dps build, though:

    Vindicator: Merciless (3/3)
    Vindicator: Focused Strikes (2/3)
    Vindicator: Mass Destruction (3/3)
    Mastery: Ego Mastery (1/1)

Alternates between Gust and Fireball for single-target dps. Hurricane can be the main AoE, while Fireball can also be used as burst AoE. Hurl looks Earth-like and is a quick way to ground flying enemies, while Whirlpool is a nice Water ult to throw in (if you have it unlocked). Use of NW's Sneak and Shadowstrike can be nice, but are also optional. Gears mostly for Ego, w/ some Con and End.
