Mystic Archer: Buffs, Debuffs, Heals

I only have one archer ATM and have the itch to do another sometime. Trying to think of a way to combine some magical with archery for a general utility character. I.e. someone who provides some buffs and debuffs along with some background healing and a bit of damage (cuz it's only archery ;) ). This is the initial iteration. Might go for Compassion. Probably stack mostly Pre and some Int (got to get some use out of those Pre/Int mods ;) )

    You can provide some nice debuffs w/ just Sonic Arrow's stun, and still have decent lockdown and AoE. Explosive taps can be added in to boost its single-target performance a bit too. Here's a similar build that takes a bit more of a dps focus, but is still more of a general utility unit for teams (CC, minor healing, debuffs, reses, some dmg):

    Wisp and/or Pillar can keep Conjuring rolling, and Wisp's Guide pairs pretty well w/ Ascension's adv. Manip could be taken for more of a CC focus, but then the only attack that procs it here is charged Sonic Arrow (so you'd have to make sure to keep weaving that in). You have Fear, Disorient, Jinx, Sent Mastery, Wither, and Concussion available as debuffs too. It should be a decent boon to groups, while not being too arduous to solo grind with. Should also be pretty survivable for a dps unit, in case you get some healgro from the aura. Gears mostly for Int, w/ some Con and Pres.

    Thanks Flow. I had wondered about alternates to AoPM (so naturally TC), but I was also wondering whether Night Warrior would be viable?

    Taking some of your ideas into account, it's this ATM. I'd like to keep mini drive both because of it's high fun quotient and debuff. I always seem to use Pillar of Poz, so want to give Expulse a try (plus the animation fits the theme in my mind a bit better).

    If I stay with Int as PSS I am wondering about MSA. enough CDs to keep it rolling? I am a little worried about Conjuring because I want to stay at range.

    Is Moment of Need helpful on a passive healing build? It would be boosting what, Expulse and Conviction? Can Expulse Crit?

    I like Moment of Glory even just for the extra Conviction crits, but dps units don't typically pick Sentinel either. So outside of Wither, Torment, and maybe the Aura, take w/e ya want in there.

    NW is always viable as an option for dps builds, though I prefer TC if keeping most of the dmg in Ranged Tech.

    I'm unsure what you mean about range and Conjuring, since it can proc and repeatedly refresh w/ Wisp's Guide or laying Pillar anywhere. MSA is an okay alternative if you want to roll cds, though.

    Anyways, your build can work fine, depending on your goals (1 point is leftover in Sentinel, though). AoPM helps ease what SS's you can take, though I wouldn't be taking a hybrid version of that to Cosmics.

    Yes, no Hybrid AoPM at Cosmics. That's a given. I guess I could level with NW and switch to AoPM if it seems more useful for end game.

    What I meant about Conjuring is that I've never been sure how close one has to be to the target of the Curse. I.e. if I'm at 100 ft. with my archer is that near enough to get the benefit?

    Does Sentinel Aura proc Honor in Arbiter? That might be useful.

    Nah, Sent Aura doesn't proc Honor, last I checked. As far as Conjuring's range: I'm able to get it w/ the Wisp from max range, and laying something like Pillar anywhere (combat or not) also works (not w/ Expulse; though if also using the Wisp then that's prob not a big deal). Actually.. upon checking, the Wisp can proc Conjuring baseline cause Debilitating Poison is counted as a Curse (and during most of the debuff's duration, Conjuring will keep refreshing to its max duration).

    Well bummer, the Jinx from Dilemma only works if you are right next to the enemy :(. I'm hoping to stay at some range, so not so useful. Poz does more innate healing than Expulse, so I maybe I'll stay with that and R3. Or Maybe Curse with Jinx and Covet (but only 50 ft. range)?

    I'm thing VG for gear to get a bit of a healing boost. Other than Pre, not entirely sure what would be the best mods for the Offensive piece. The emphasis is on debuffing with a side of healing. I could add a Sentinel for a bit more healing, or Gamblers for a bit more crit. Maybe a couple Severity mods?

    The Jinx adv is pretty good when surrounded, but yeah like Pillar's other special advs, you have to hit the targets for them to apply (ie. be up-close). Also, you can already stun w/ Sonic Arrow, so Curse would be mostly just for the extra self-heal adv.

    If healing is one of the focii, then I'd prob get one bonus heal boost. Crit/severity are fine, but are more for dps here (crit rating also to help proc HI, if you're using that EU still).

    Definitely like the concept. Here's my take on an elf archer that heals but also poisons, stuns and roots the bad guys. Not sure if Seraphim actually boosts toxic damage? If not maybe Nanobots would be more beneficial... the arrow attacks don't benefit either way and are mainly control moves.

    I get that damage isn't going to be great, but is there anything redundant or wasted here?

    Seraphim does not boost any of the damage types in that build, it's effectively just providing minor AoE HoT healing and a heal efficacy buff to you.

    I'd switch it out for AoRP, AoED or even AoAC.

    That's what I was worried about - thanks for the clarification! What about Medical Nanites as the passive? That way I can still get Compassion stacks plus a little damage soak?

    Iniquity is nice as a tank heal, but also as a long-range one. I added Ascension to make use of Guide, but you can put something else there if you really want (maybe Curse w/ Jinx and Covet, despite its 50ft limit; or maybe keep Gas Arrow w/ stun chance instead). Wisp debuffs and helps proc Conjuring here. Gears mostly for Pres, w/ some Int and Con.

    I've been enjoying my build a great deal so far. I picked up Psionic Accelerator and Archer's Memory. Those devices help with the DPSing of mooks. Between Stun Arrow and PA mobs hardly get off a shot and the fear from Will o the Wisp and the damage debuff from mini drive mean that even higher level mooks/minor villains do hardly any damage. Been a nice change of pace from a normal dps or support build. Not a pain at all to level.
