I'd like help in improving this build as much as possible. So what is the general idea behind it? I attempt to stack dexterity and critical severity as much as possible to make up for not having compassion for healing potential. The idea would be that both my damage and healing will largely come from critical hits, and Aura of Ebon Destruction and the avenger tree + mastery only further adds to that with the critical damage procs, while also increasing the overall damage output of my team. Imbue is also here for the very same reason.

Then I also have Hex of Suffering with Rune of Lethargy in order to proc Trapped on effected targets, adding a 1.1 multiplier on all damage taken. (If I recall correctly Hex works in a unique way where it applies its root effect on the target over and over, thus allowing the 1.1 multiplier to have a 100% uptime despite shortened duration even on a boss.) I'm not 100% on how optimal I've made this build for what I'm trying to do or if the things if there are better things to take, and that's what I'd like help with, I suppose. The primary focus is dps, of course, thought I am trying to boost up my healing. Arcane Vitality can crit for roughly 800 hp and Conviction can go for 2.5~k on myself.

I recall way back when I played last, which is about 2 years ago, when Sorcery didn't have things like Soul Beam and I had to rely on literally spamming Scarn's Bane as the only damage dealing ability, I was capable of doing pretty alright dps and was able to heal my team all the way to the last boss of Telios Ascendant, at which point it wasn't strong enough as healing. I'm not sure if that's still possible and I'm not sure what exactly changed in the abilities I am running besides the addition of new ones.

What am I trying to accomplish? I suppose I'm doing a support dps the primary purpose of which is to increase the damage done of all his allies, while being no pushover himself. My hope is that I can iron this out to where it will be viable for endgame content. Help appreciated and thank you in advance!

    Yea, I wouldn't be bringing this in Hybrid role to large-scale content, as in there you want the strongest aura for allies. But in Support role, it could be okay as a dps support. You don't really have a full healing toolkit, though (100ft tank heal, reses). Also, I dunno why R1 LR is in there (I guess that was meant to be Masterful Dodge), and the build doesn't have a non-cd AoE attack. Preemptive Strike and Avenger Mastery are also not useful here since you lack a Blast, though I may swap Avenger for a diff spec too. Sigils can also be destroyed by boss AoE, and if taking Dex PSS then you want 2/2 in Expose Weakness.

    Should be able to fill the healer role in higher end stuff, and for more casual stuff you could swap to the Hybrid role and focus more on dps. Can also remove a power if you want a self-res power (or carry around Recovery packs). Gears mostly for Pres, w/ some Con and Int.

    I do actually have a blast in the 1st power in the form of Eldritch Blast. I see what this build does, but I think the design concept I want to go for is DPS first and support second. So would something like this work as a hybrid for smallscale content and a support for largescale content?

    It's just that I think if I focus on presence as primary, I will actually lose dps since I will have lower crit chance and lower critical severity. At that point there's no real need to even have soul beam, since I could be spamming Skarn's Bane and Hex of Suffering to just multiply team damage as much as possible with stuns and roots while aoe healing.

    I wish there was a form that multiplied damage first and healing second, honestly. So the idea here is that I would use Eldritch Blast to boost Soul Beam, which then reduces cast time of Eldritch Blast and it becomes a chain. I didn't take an energy unlock because I thought perhaps Chilled Form and Rune of Arcane Power would be enough to keep me topped up, since with what I had before I was already sitting at full energy all the time, and with AoPM on me I might be getting like 20+ energy ticks from it.

    Also, I'm not sure which healing abilities can crit. Since I rely on critical severity to do any healing, I thought that perhaps I need healing abilities that can crit in order to take advantage of that and steer clear from HoT effects.


    Another alternative for an offensive healer (with offense being the primary concern) I came up with on the basis of your advice is this. I tried to really push the idea of maxing out critical strike chance and severity in order to boost damage and also boost healing on the side. Still uses support role and presence secondary for some healing boosts and also maximum AoED, but it goes harder into damage dealing and inadvertantly also boosts the healing.

    I suppose I'm not really aiming to be an effective healer for endgame content as much as I want to have something that would be beneficial to the group in general in the form of AoED (I haven't even seen many run it so far) and basic support skills as well as good damage dealing capabilities.

    Would either of these work better for what I'm trying to do?

    Oh.. that's why I missed the blast; it was in the place that the end builder normally goes.

    You can't actually replace the end builder like that in-game, though, so you'd have to cut one of the other powers to keep the blast in for the builds.

    If you want to be more of a dps w/ some support on the side, then that's okay. You won't be as valuable in end-game content, but as long as you at least give a decent AoED aura and generally don't die, that's still pretty good :x
    Problem is.. all ally auras scale w/ Pres, and if you take a dmg form like Chilled Form that doesn't use Pres, then you are splitting your stats and weakening the ally aura.

    So, I dunno what direction to go here. To a degree, you will have to pick between more support over more personal dps. Thing is, Supports usually don't do much personal dps, cause there's too many factors working against that (lower role dmg bonus, 10% final dmg penalty, no 25% dps role multiplier, etc). Usually, the best way to do relatively high personal dps as a Support is w/ an AoED + pet array build, but ofc pets are problematic for much of high-end content.

    So.. maybe try a AoED Support build w/ Compassion and Pres stacking (+Sentinel Aura to easily stack Compassion in combat), but use stuff like Ego PSS and decent dps debuffs, and keep a more basic support array (an ally heal and an ally res)? Could work pretty well:

    Wisp's Guide combos pretty nicely w/ Ascension's adv for burst healing and dmg (and Illum will further boost Soul Beam's dmg by being an Enchantment). Should be able to do some dps w/ minor healing and AoE control, boost ally dmg pretty well, and still have the potential to help save allies through rough patches. Gears mostly for Pres, w/ some Con and Ego.
