capeless glide

An easy add would be a capeless version of the glide TP. This would allow players to enjoy many of the arm wings with minimal effort from the dev team.

Yes please. Folks have been asking for this since the TP came out, and this guy needs it...

While I would like to see it happen, the idea of it is really great and all but I can see why it hasn't been implemented yet. Mainly because I think they want to "see" what makes you glide and all. A good way to implement this would be to make it have a catergory like Hoverboards/Surfboards/Weapons etc. That way, Cape Glide is still a thing but now you can have different skins for your Cape Glide. Doesn't make a new power but works and have a "no cape" use of it too.

Or just have a capeless version of cape glide as well as the current one...... as per the OP. Much less complicated to implement and does the job.

Well I think that's why OP mentioned the arm wings. However, I think we might need an entirely new type of flight for that to ensure that the arm wings are positioned properly. Looking at the screenshots above it looks like the arm wings would be pointing in the same direction as the little blades on the guy's forearms, which might look kinda awkward.

I think my earlier idea of "arm flapping flight" would serve that function, and in third gear they just make you have your arms out to the sides with the forearms rotated so wrist wings would be angled correctly, with your hands flat and level.

As a disclaimer, the images of my character posted previously are not with cape glide arm positions. They are just part of Swinging TP animation carefully screenshotted and clipped. With current Cape Glide arm position those little blades are pointing backwards, aligned with the body and cape. I just tried it with another toon who uses cape glide and the angle of the arm wings is perfect :)

The OP's suggestion would be much less cumbersome and time consuming to implement though... as he makes clear. Resources and all that

Keeps the bean counters happy ;)

Maybe have a bit of repect for the OP and comment on the thread you have for your suggestion instead of spamming it in theirs

Easier fix is add all material to a single cape. That way you can use black psi material and Poof! No cape....

    Hopefully

True, and a good idea, but I wouldn't want to waste a back costume piece on a cape I don't want to be seen when I could have something awesome there.

I have to add that I'd rather have this than no capeless glide. Once again, nice out-of-the-box thinking mate :)

the original suggestion is not to change the existing cape glide but to add another TP that has no cape.
