Does Siphoning Strikes Proc Gifts of the Storm?

Does Siphoning Strikes Proc Gifts of the Storm? Has anyone tested this? I tried to, but I'm still not sure if it works. If it does, I'm thinking about maybe an Ego/Pre/Dex melee healer could be pretty sweet.

    As far as I can tell in the battle station w/ pets, Siphoning Strikes does seem to work w/ Gifts. The splash healing isn't too much from it alone (since Siphoning scales w/ crit dps), but it could be a nice thing to have going on in the background.

    Cool, thanks! Okay, yeah, I see what you're saying. The Siphoning Strikes healing is not going to be buffed by Pre or any other healing bonus. Man, here I thought I had a neat idea.

    Yea, Siphoning is one of the cases where dps determines healing. That said, even support can have downtime to just hit things, and it does open some possibilities for a melee dps that can assist-heal a bit. Maybe one of the cases where you can combo it w/ Arbiter Mastery just for the helluvit.

    Example, using Hybrid role and Seraphim for more heal aura-iness (though you could just go w/ melee dps role and ID Mastery):

    One thing that makes this shakey is that you can't really ensure that you get Gifts to proc on the biggest hit of Ego Weaponry. Gifts works best with healing that consistently produces high numbers rather than ramping up. Still a cool idea though.​​

    Gifts of the Storm is only on BCR nowadays, right? I thought maybe 1 other power had it, but I could be mistaken.

    And we all know the issue of BCR: 10% dmg reduction while active.

    So, most likely not worth keeping up all of the time just to proc a very small AoE heal every 2 seconds. In my opinion, you're better off keeping Dependency going via the assorted ways. Quick tap of Mental Leech is pretty useful.​​

    Gifts was on FotT originally, but that was axed shortly after they moved Gifts to BCR and revamped it. Prob done for balance reasons.
