What New Power Set Would You Like To See?

OK here's a fun little thread. So CO has been around for awhile and quite a few of us are bit hungry for a new power set. So let's cut to the chase, if you had your choice, what new Power Set would like to see developed in CO?

*Note: Please refrain from tearing apart others posts or personal attacks. This thread is meant to be fun and all ideas are welcome. I also do not expect any actual outcome from this thread other than a good time. :)

    My Suggestion: Energy or Elemental Melee

    For the most part, the damage types the melee power sets inflict are physical (Crushing, Slashing, etc..). However, they do contain advantages that can be used to trigger the various EU's. It would be great to have some melee powers that actually do significant types elemental damage. For example, a Fiery Melee set could deal fire damage with a little crushing mixed in. Also, this could open up the option for creating new Fire based passives for Tanking and Melee DPS.

    Water, Plant and Faster powerframe revamp development

    Energy Weapons - ranged stuff like laser pistols/rifles, plasma grenades, etc. Much of this could be split off from Gadgeteering (which is a fragmented, unfocused mess) by taking all the high-tech stuff and turning it into its own power set. Damage types would be Sonic and Particle. Primary theme would be the ranged counterpart to Laser Sword, but without the "consumes your Plasma Burn stacks to do X" garbage.

    Moreso than heaping on a bunch of new frameworks though, I'd rather see better mix-and-match capability between existing frameworks. I'd also like to see more variants of existing powers besides just self-rez, brute strikes, lariats, and chain twirlers. Powers like Particle Wave and Devour Essence are two powers that could really, really use some thematic reskins.
    (Hopefully) Useful CO Resources: HeroCreator (character planner), Cosmic Timers/Alert Checklist, Blood Moon Map, Anniversary Cat Map, and more (eventually, anyway).

    Energy melee will be the easiest. They can also just push out "New" energy melee powers. One for ice, fire, force, and so on. I would not mind this.

    Quantum would also be a bit easier. Time stop power will just freeze the enemies in place. Future attacks will just be some damage over time debuff.

    A pet power or hunter which is basically the marksman with more pet skins available like birds or lions.

    On the topic of pets, I think I seen this mentioned around here, but maybe a pet class that uses summons. Their attacks will consist of tossing entities at the enemy. Energy builder will be something like small flaming birds that are continuously projected from their palms, and stronger attacks will be similar to the martial arts ultimate power creature.

    They are not controllable, so that will be easier to implement. Also, it has a high "Milking" factor. There can be a mechanical, magic, and bestial based heroe archetypes. Mechanical ultimate will be like a Mega Zord or something, maybe an image of Terak or those tall destructoid bots. Bestial probably an image of one of the cosmics. Call one of the cosmics to help in battle for a short-time.
  • The Specialist = two swords + two pistols
    The Unleashed = two swords
    The Gunslinger = two pistols
    The Blade = one sword

    The logical progression from here is an AT with one pistol.

    Throwing Weapons powerset. It would absorb current boomerang powers and then add a bunch of knife throwing attacks. It would have a passive similar to Night Warrior with stealth mechanics.

    Oh yeah. Cobbling all of those non-toggled powers in Power Armor together into an alternate option would be fantastic.

    Man, these all sound great.

    Time abilities could be very cool, and totally different from anything we have in game. Plant and Water have always sounded great, but they feel too niche to get the first-place vote from me. Throwing stuff, fighting staffs, sonic, shield powers, an extension of Muni for more one-gun stuff... I would be very, very happy with any of those.

    I love the first suggestion of Energy Melee, but I feel like I can already approximate the visuals with hand-only auras. Ultimately, I'd 'vote' for just a general Energy set. Melee/Ranged mix, with pure cosmic/energy/whatever powers. Beams, blasts, explosions, punches. Let us create energy orbs, bind enemies in energy cocoons, shoot our allies with energy beams that make them stronger for awhile, etc. That's my choice.

    Or space manipulation. We do have some abilities in-game themed around space manipulation, but not a powerset dedicated to it(unless you count Celestial or Darkness).

    How do you mean? Like altering matter, opening black holes, etc.?

    Like punching someone by opening a wormhole.

    What? I didn't say I thought it'd be easy to program into the game...

    Those space fissure like effects are a good example though.

    I would like a Shape Shifting powerset, allowing you to transform into any animal, just like Beast Boy.

    But what I want the most is an extra pet option, one that generates copies of yourself :)

    I'd like sound splintered off of Might and turned into it's own thing. Packed with CC that forces enemies to dance, and an aoe HoT for allies.

    Water and Nature (Plant) would be great! But I can also get behind Quantum as some of you stated, seems it’ll be a CC type of power set

    I've been waiting for the gadget revamp hoping they would add more ranged energy weapons, if they were to do enough to spin them off into there own set that would make me very happy

    also an atomic/nuclear/radiation set would also be good

    I agree that having a plant based powerset would be a great addition to the game. I think it would be totally possible by using reskined powers from other powersets and using toxic as a damage type which could be mixed in with infernal. Also allow for it to have heals, pets like vegetable minions and vine like animations for holds. For example, crippling coils.
