Event AT Unlocks and Gold status

Can I use Event currency to unlock premium ATs (Like the Inventor during Foxbatcon) while I have gold status?

I'm currently a gold player, but sometimes drop to silver when money's tight or when I have less time for playing. Long ago I got the free Devastator AT giveaway, so when I drop to silver I have that additional AT available. I'd like to unlock the Inventor AT in the upcoming Foxbatcon, but my subscription will probably outlast the event itself. Will the unlock work?

    It probably won't let you buy the AT.

    I went to the Test server (where Foxbatcon is testing now). I got Foxbat cred, bought the AT, and got this info:

    [Reward] You spent 650 Foxbat Cred.
    [Reward] You received The Inventor Archetype.
    [Reward] Used item. You have been granted 1 of The Inventor Archetype.
    [Inventory] Unable to use this item.

    It took the 650 Foxbat Cred. I had 800 before and only 150 after. I don't know how to tell if that last line means the AT *didn't* unlock or if it's just some typical weirdness with unlocks and items. (I can't really test if I have unlocked the AT, because of course I'm gold and I can make any AT on Test.)

    Please let players temporarily turn off XP!

    If the item is still in your inventory you'll be able to use it after going back to silver. If it's not, you won't. Should probably report that as a bug.

    Just tried this on PTS. I bought the inventor AT, it unlocked for me.

    Could "[Inventory] Unable to use this item." mean that I've already unlocked the Inventor AT and forgotten? (Certainly a possibility.)

    Any chance you could try it again on PTS, xrazamax? Maybe the "[Inventory] Unable to use this item." statement happens only if the AT has already been unlocked?

    There isn't actually an item in my inventory after doing that, despite what it says.

    So interestingly, I could buy it again. It took my Foxbat Cred, and "used" the item. However I had a system message display [Reward] You spent 650 Foxbat Cred. [Reward] You received The Inventor Archetype. [Reward] Used item. You have been granted 1 of The Inventor Archetype. [Inventory] Unable to use this item. [Inventory] Unable to use this item.

    Okay, that's exactly what I saw the first time I tried it on PTS, so I'm going to assume I already unlocked the Inventor at some point and just forgot. I wish there was a better way to track things like that.
