Paradigm; The Gun-slinging Witch!

phazeunphazeun Posts: 35 Arc User
Hey everyone! I'm back with another build for review. This is Paradigm, a witch who uses dual pistols as well as a variety of eldritch and celestial magick to aid and heal allies. The idea is for this build to be a viable end-game healer!

A few notes:
  • Eldritch Blast is in the build because I wanted a 100 ft. DPS ability, but didn't want to rank it up as my primary goal is being a dedicated end-game healer.
  • Should I remove CON as a SS? With AoPM and support role, I get enough CON as it is, so would replacing CON with INT be more opportunistic? Any pro's or con's? (Haha, con's? Get it? It's... it's a pun... okay I'll stop now.)
  • Howl is just a thematic power since I didn't think I would need an AO. Should I replace it with an AO, and if so, with what?
  • How are the specializations looking? Any revisions?
Thank you in advance!

Imo, Supports don't often have as much to gain if they drop Con SS (assuming they are still Pres-focused, ofc). I suppose Int SS could lower cds a bit more, but since its an SSS and not a gear focus it wouldn't be by much. The Support role also has a 10% maxHP penalty to deal with.

AOs can be nice for the break free, even if the dps boost isn't that important for you. But its up to you. You could also consider BCR w/ the new Gifts adv, which can be quite nice incidental splash healing. Or you could add a stun or hold power to proc Sentinel Mastery with, if you want to go down that route. Otherwise, the specs work for a more defense-oriented healer.

Would probably replace Resurgence by Bionic Shielding, Conviction is all you need really, Resurgence for a healer is useless I think.(And casting Bionic on yourself is a lifesaver)
Howl is thematic, but Moonstruck (350scr + Bloodmoon perks) can be more useful and really thematic.(It can heal your allies and yourself)

If you'd like to spend more time attacking, and not switching targets for healing, you could try something like this in which the heals are more incidental to your main attacks. Also provides some buffs/debuffs.

In cases where healing is more in the background, I would stay away from Compassion and pick a toggle form that buffs and is stacked by your main attack.

If you are concerned about switching targets for healing vs attacking, you don't have to change your build at all. You can address that worry with changes to your targeting settings. For details see the first post in the Healer Builds thread:

    - re:100ft unranked DPS ability, I suggest using devices for this purpose as there are plenty of more useful unranked powers to take instead for an endgame-focused healer including: Masterful Dodge, Nanobot Swarm, Ascension, Mini Drive, Shadow of Doubt, etc.

    - re: CON SS, my AoPM healers typically run it. It doesn't do much for you, but neither does anything else since energy is not an issue and you've got DEX and PRE already. Ultimately this is not an important choice as far as mechanics go.

    - re: Howl replacement, if you're going to replace it with anything I'd suggest either one of the powers I listed earlier in my response or a piercing debuff applier such as Frag Grenade+adv or Burst Shot.

    - re: Specs, they look fine.
