Knowing how funky CO is with control settings, you may want to manually set the keybinds under the options. That way you can dictate what buttons do what. If you don't like them, you can change them. I've had to do mine that way because of CO's funky control schemes. Oh, and for future characters, when you open the HUD tab under options, the Save/Load buttons also copy the controls. No need to redo all of the controls for each character. If you want, I could provide screenshots of my own scheme if you want to use it for reference. I can explain what most options do and why I have them the way they are from there.

For a Dual Swords Archetype, there's the free option of the Unleashed. Mainly Dual Swords with some other minor Force tricks available. Next on the list is the Specialist, which is a premium AT. It can be played primarily as Dual Swords OR Munitions to best effect. For a step further, there's always freeform. That way you could make a Dual Swords character of your own design. The cost is rather steep though if you want to go that route.

If I’m being honest, I couldn’t decipher your cryptic language.
  • I also had a number of misspelled words. Sprry for that.

Be nice to the newbies if you want this game to survive.

    Welcome.

I use arrow movement too. WASD is too crowded.

If you find this useful I will present my control scheme:

    Jump: NUMPAD1
    Block: NUMPAD0

/bind numpad0 "PowerTrayExec 1 16" keeps block permanently on. Just activate another power or click block in the power tray to turn it off.

I have never found a good way to toggle block.

The automatic and default settings for CO aren't the best, but . . .

You can completely customize your keybinds. Go into options and start playing around until you get what you want. For instance, my powers use NumPad0-9, +, /,*, and -. I don't like hitting shift/ctrl/alt to use my powers.

Unfortunately, you have to set them up again for each character you make (unless I am missing a "Set as default" button).

there are console commands for saving your keybinds and loading them. I think it's /bind_save /bind_load or something.

/ui_save........ to save one character's settings

/ui_load........ to apply those settings to another of your characters

There's a separate set for keybinds. although that might be included in UI save.

I have never found a good way to toggle block.

I keep shift as my regular block, but use something like mouse button 3 (mouse wheel click) to toggle the block on. Then to toggle it off I just tap shift.

I turn/look around with the mouse and use WSAD to move. I also use the right mouse button and W to fly up or down.
