Help with Cyber-Ninja build.

wraith9thwraith9th Posts: 61 Arc User
Hey Build Gurus.

My main is a cyber ninja. The old build, which was also a gift from you experts was focused on 11 hands and had Lead Tempest and Eye of the Storm as flavour attacks.

WIth the MA update things have changed to my understanding so I submit my old build for review and correction before you guys.
I'm thinking of doing away with EotS and munitions attacks and keeping Sword Cyclone as my AoE and Vorpal Blade as Ultimate.
Gearing suggestions will be welcome.

Notably, the build lacks a toggle/form atm. Otherwise, it could use a few tweaks. I prob would get a means to put Demolish up; assuming Elbow Slam isn't very ninja-like, you could use TKicks w/ adv for that (though it won't give the dodge buff anymore). 100Hands can also put up Demolish, but that will be lower dps than getting it to R3 and having Demolish from a diff source.

MSA is still fine as the EU if you keep using cds like Holdout Shot, though Chi Manip (or even just Steadfast, knowing it won't proc from the Muni stuff) could also work here. You could also take adv of Ricochet Throw or Throwing Blades w/ Sneak, but you'd have to make room for that.

    One way to edit it:

You did mention keeping Sword Cyclone and Vorpal Blade and doing away w/ Muni, though I don't see those reflected in the build. Also, Sword Cyclone is a bit costly anyways; if anything EotS is more fitting and easier to work in (though you could just keep LT for AoE, even if its dps won't be very high, and 100Hands can still AoE up-close). Its pretty easy to sub Vorpal Blade for FotD, though.

Oh... I guess I failed to mention that I was submitting the old build as a reference and would love a build which would do away with LT and Holdout shot.
I would like to go with SC because for all the benefits of EotS, the way it roots me in place has begun to bum me out of late.
Also, instead of the munitions attacks, I want to adopt the single/dual blade route.
It'd be awesome if you could incorporate that with 100 hands.

Well, due to Sword Cyclone's high cost I may just use SB's Scything Blade for pbAoE then. 100Hand's AoE potential is still cone-based, so there's merit to using a diff attack for AoE and 100Hands + Demolish for single target.

You can still opt for Sword Cyclone here instead, since its using FotT + Steadfast, but I'd still check to make sure energy is okay w/ it. Gears mostly for Dex, w/ some Con.

    So no gearing for Str?
SC does take more energy but it's manageable, I believe. Tested both SC and SB and I have to say I prefer maintains to charges. Liked the knock down on SB, though.

    Gonna opt for SC, finally.

Thank you sooo very much, Flow.

Yea, Strength was taken here for its PSS tree, and not really to be geared for, as the toggle (and EU) is still Dex-based

My Cyber-Ninja uses Laser Sword and throwing blades With the PBAoE Stunning kick.

Is it viable to have Laser Sword and the 'Writs Blasters:" instead?
  • flowcytoflowcyto Posts: 12,883 Arc User
I'm not sure what you mean by the wrist blasters, but yeah you can make a ninja w/ LS powers instead.

Here's a Night Warrior + Laser Sword build that has very very high DPS: (can make slight modifications to go over 10k on a 5 min test dummy parse)

    Rotation is:
apply debuff via Lightspeed Strike -> 5-7X Lum Slash charges -> refresh debuff via Lightwave Slash

Stats: 200+ STR, 500+ DEX, enough Rec that your energy bar is full at standstill

The key mechanic to this setup is what % of your Lum Slash hits proc the adv. The more the better. So you want to constantly be at full energy as the ideal.

So the 2 slash powers are charged to fuel the form?

Mostly to deal higher DPS since Night Warrior reduces charge time. But yes the form choice is is due to its synergy with the main attack power of the build, Lum Slash, which is at its best when fully charged.

I understand its for theme, but the PA wrist rockets won't really work that well w/ that build, since they can't proc the toggle or EU and will lockout others powers when used (and the lockout delay can be annoying). You can keep it for the theme, but I prob wouldn't prioritize using it in combat regularly.
