High Noon Event
  • For the next 2 weeks the High Noon event will be running.
  • Added the following items to the event store: Fingerless Gloves, Bladed Eye, Eye Patch and Card Sleeve costumes.




Shaolin Lockbox
Our latest lockbox is out!
You can get the following new items in this lockbox:

ZEN Store
Added Shaolin Key Pack to the ZEN store.
This pack contains:
  • 20 keys
  • Dragon Fang weapon skin unlock
  • 25x Rank 5 Left Eye of the Ruby Dragon Mods
  • 3x Triumphant Recovery
  • 10x Healing and Energy Plus devices




Drifter
  • Added Stoic Flight device. This can only be purchased if you own the Stoic Flight travel power.
  • Added Electrical Energy aura.




Modifications
Left Eye of the Ruby Dragon
  • The current Left Eye of the Ruby Dragon mod has been retired and will no longer drop from the Hipan alert.
  • The quality of Left Eye of the Ruby Dragon has been changed to white (to make the cost to unslot trivial).
  • No longer provides any effects.
  • Players can take this item to Fixer in the Recognition area to trade it in for a Rank 9 version of one of the new Martial Arts damage mods.
  • The tooltip on this item has also been updated to direct players with this mod to Fixer.
  • This item can no longer be discarded as we don't want players accidentally discarding it before exchanging the item.



New Modifications:
  • Nighthawk's Talons: Utility slot. Provides a damage bonus to Martial Arts Claws abilities. This will be available during the Nighthawk event.
  • Left Eye of the Ruby Dragon: Utility slot. Provides a damage bonus to Martial Arts Unarmed abilities. This can drop in the Red Snake Green Dragon alert.
  • Jack Fool's Blade: Utility slot. Provides a damage bonus to Martial Arts Single Blade abilities. This can drop directly from Jack Fool in his alert and Adventure Pack.
  • Dragon's Fangs: Utility slot. Provides a damage bonus to Martial Arts Dual Blade abilities. This is a global drop from Red Banner enemies.
  • Vitality: Defense slot. Gives you energy over time when struck by an attack.
  • Hardy: Utility slot. Restores health when you defeat a foe (same as Respite).
  • Tireless: Utility slot. Restores energy when you defeat a foe (same as Energetic).



Costumes
  • Corrected the normal map on the Inmate pants for females.
  • Updated the cloth collision on scarf costumes for females so they don't stick out as much.
  • Added Kama martial arts melee weapon as a free weapon skin.
  • Added Leather and Metal materials to Fur bracers.
  • Added Leather and Metal materials to male Fur Wild shoulders.
  • Added Dragon 2 texture to Martial Arts Gi and Gi Pants costumes. This is a free texture.
  • Added Spikey Long hair to females. Males had this hairstyle while females did not.




Cosmic
  • Reduced the number of boosts Kigatilik's hounds grant.
  • Kigatilik's Hounds will now be a lot more maneuverable in combat.




Misc
  • The Red Snake Green Dragon alert is being extended a week so players can collect some Left Eye of the Ruby Dragon mods.
  • Added Ripper action figure as a rare drop from Ripper in alerts.
  • Jack Fool's Neck costume can now drop from him in the Demonflame Adventure Pack in addition to his alerts.
  • Adjusted Jack Fool's power hue to red.
  • Gave Jack Fool a more fitting blade.
  • Jack Fool's Chained Kunai power will now remove travel powers on players to prevent them from flying out of range from him/indefinitely running out of his range, bypassing his abilities. He will only use this power if you are outside of his melee range.
  • Fixed a bug where wings did not properly animate closing when landing in the forward direction.

    Martial Arts Power Changes
    • Players who owned any Unarmed Martial Arts abilities will receive a free respec.
    • Updated tooltips for Unarmed Martial Arts powers.



    Burning Chi Fist
    • Slightly increased the damage and cost of this power.
    • Adjusted FX to transition better.
    • Removed Fists of the Righteous Flame advantage. A new version of this advantage has been moved to Intensity.
    • New Advantage (2): Instead of applying Chi Flame to targets, you now apply a burst of energy in a area effect, knocking nearby targets to you.
    • New Advantage (2): Increases the damage this power deals against targets affected by Demolish.

    Chi Flame Effect
    • This effect no longer ignores half of the target's resistance, but instead reduces the targets resistance against your Chi Power abilities.
    • This effect cannot be stacked.
    • Now also now boosted by forms.
    • Reduced the amount of resources the Chi Flame FX takes up.




    Thundering Kicks
    • Fixed a bug where the dodge buff could fall off if you blocked too quickly.
    • Changed the dodge buff so it wouldn't reduce in effectiveness against high level targets.
    • Reduced the duration of the dodge buff to 12 seconds (from 15).
    • This power is now an area effect.
    • Cost slightly increased for being an area effect.
    • New Advantage (3): Reduces the cooldown on your healing abilities by 2 sec whenever you complete this combo.
    • New Advantage (2): This power can no longer apply Lithe, but now applies Demolish to your primary target when completing a combo.

    Floating Lotus Blossom Advantage
    • Reduced the duration of the buff to 12 seconds (from 20).
    • Renamed the buff to Quick Maneuverability.
    • Reduced the stack limit of this buff to 10 (from 20).
    • Change the dodge buff so it wouldn't reduce in effectiveness against high level targets.
    • When this buff is applied it now stacks whenever you use a melee attack, instead of only applying while using Thundering Kicks.




    Crashing Wave Kick
    • New advantage (2): Refreshes a portion the duration of your Demolish debuff.
    • New advantage (2): Refreshes the duration of your Chi Flame effect.

    Subtlety of the Tides Advantage
    • Ebb and Flow no longer provides a Dodge bonus.
    • Slightly increased Avoidance bonus on this buff.
    • Reduced the stack limit of this buff to 10 (from no limit).




    Rush
    • Renamed to Dragon Rush.
    • Is considered a Chi Energy effect.
    • Rush was never factored into the balance of any of the powers that currently utilize it, and instead of reducing the damage on those abilities or increasing the cost up dramatically to balance out the effect it grants we are opting to move it to a 3 point advantage.
    • This change currently only affects Dragon Uppercut and Dragon Kick, the other abilities that use this effect will be reviewed when their respective powersets are reviewed.



    Dragon Uppercut
    • Increased damage and cost.
    • Removed the Rush buff from this ability.
    • Chi Flame Advantage: Now applies the Chi Flame effect.
    • New Advantage (1): Causes this power to deal a portion of its damage as dimensional damage.
    • New Advantage (3): Applies the Dragon Rush buff to you when fully charged.




    Backhand Chop
    • Reduced damage and cost.
    • Stinging Bee advantage: Now applies the Trauma debuff.
    • New Advantage (2): Applies Chi Flame to target.
    • New Advantage (2): Refreshes a portion of your Demolish debuff.




    Dragon Kick
    • Now hits everything around you instead of in a cone.
    • Removed Rush buff from this ability.
    • New Advantage (3): Applies the Dragon Rush buff to you when fully charged.
    • New Advantage (2): Chance to apply Chi Flame to targets.
    • New Advantage (1): Causes this power to deal a portion of its damage as dimensional damage.




    Hundred Hands
    • Reduced the damage and cost of this power.
    • This power now has a chance to apply the Chi Flame effect to your targets.
    • Fully maintaining this power guarantees the application of Chi Flame to your primary target.
    • Updated the fx and ending stance on this power.
    • Ghostly Strikes advantage: These strikes no longer ignore half of the target's resistance (this effect is now part of the Chi Flame debuff).
    • New Advantage (2): Fully maintaining this power applies Demolish to your primary target.
    • New Advantage (2): Has a chance to apply Clinging Flames instead of Chi Flame.




    Open Palm Strike
    • This power now has a 25ft range naturally and can hit multiple targets.
    • Lowered damage slightly.
    • Cost slightly increased due to new range and area effect.
    • Updated the fx and soundfx on this power.
    • Increased radius to 4ft (from 3).
    • New Advantage (2): Chance to apply Chi Flame on targets.
    • New Advantage (2): Knocks targets towards you instead of back.
    • New Advantage (2): Applies Devoid to your primary target when fully charged.




    Intensity
    • New Advantage (2): If you are held or rooted while this power is active, immediately applies breakout damage and grants you 3 stacks of the Charged Up buff, increasing your run and jump speed.
    • New Advantage (2): Grants you a chance to apply Chi Flame with any melee attack while this power is active.




    Smoke Bomb Lunge
    • Lowered activation time to 0.5 seconds, very slightly reduced damage and cost because of this.
    • This lunge should feel more responsive.
    • Sudden Strike advantage: Considered to be a Chi Power effect.




    Righteous Fists/Vicious Strikes
    • Drunken Master Advantage: Now applies Aversion when you critically hit, which is a Dodge and Avoidance buff. This buff can now also be refreshed.




    Elbow Slam
    • The animation for this power has been changed.
    • This power is now a short lunge.
    • No longer innately Disorients.
    • This power now paralyzes your target.
    • This power now requires a full charge to work
    • Increased cooldown to 10 seconds (from none).
    • Cost has been adjusted for its new effects.
    • Falling Hammer advantage: Now applies the Demolish debuff.
    • New advantage (2): Disorients target.
    • New Advantage (2): Applies Chi Flame to target.




    Rising Knee
    • The knock down on this power should no longer ignore knock resistance.
    • Reduced activation time to 0.5 seconds.
    • Updated cost for new activation.
    • Updated the sound on this power.
    • Flowing Strikes advantage: Now refreshes Demolish for a portion of its duration.
    • New Advantage (2): Applies Despondency to your opponent, reducing their chance to dodge by a flat amount. This effect scales with your strength.
    • New Advantage (1): Refreshes Chi Flame.




    Fury of the Dragon
    • Damage types changed to Crushing and Dimensional.
    • Now applies Chi Flame instead of Clinging Flames.




    Shuriken Throw
    • Removed the Chained Kunai advantage as this exists as its own power.
    • Removed Strong Arm advantage. This advantage is being phased out as we don't want to set a trend where certain powers can change their range definition but others cannot.




    Shuriken Storm
    • Increased damage slightly.
    • Removed Strong Arm advantage.
    • This power was using an incorrect formula for calculating its cost. Cost slightly increased.
    • Changed the damage type to slashing to match Shurkien Throw's/Chained Kunai's damage types.




    Bountiful Chi Resurgence
    • Changed default hue.
    • Is now considered to be a Chi Energy effect.

    New Advantage (3)
    • A portion of your incoming healing is applied to nearby allies.
    • This can occur even if you are at full health.
    • Heals over time do not trigger this effect.
    • This effect can occur once every 2 seconds.




    Inexorable Tides
    • Now hits everything around you instead of in a cone.
    • Cost increased due to this change.
    • New Advantage (2): Gives this power a chance to apply Chi Flame.
    • New Advantage (2): Refreshes the duration of your Demolish debuff.




    New Power: Bladed Cyclone
    • Similar to the other cyclone powers. Deals Slashing damage in a area effect and has a chance to snare targets.
    • Advantage (2): Greatly increases your knock resistance while maintaining this power.




    New Power: Chi Manipulation
    • Energy Unlock.
    • Generates energy over time whenever you apply a Chi Energy effect.




    New Power: Devastating Strike
    • Available in the Shaolin Lockbox
    • Martial Arts Shared Ultimate
    • Deals Crushing damage to your primary target.
    • Deals Dimensional damage in a area effect on the last hit, applies Chi Flame and knocks all enemies back.
    • Foes that are immune to Knock are instead left Disoriented.
    • Advantage (1): Applies a large threat over time bonus.



    Form of the Tempest
    • Removed Gifts of the Storm advantage. A new version of this advantage has been moved to Bountiful Chi Resurgence.



    Form of the Tiger
    • Removed Rage of the Beast advantage. A new version of this advantage has been moved to Intensity.
    • Changed default hue.



    Form of the Master.
    • No longer triggers off of dodging.
    • Now triggers when applying Chi Energy effects.
    • Removed Storms Eye Prana advantage. A new version of this advantage has been moved to Thundering Kicks.
    • Changed default hue.






    Misc Power Changes
    • Changed the large threat over time bonus available on some ultimates to all use the same effect. This has no change on the actual performance of the effect, but will just cause it to stack on a target if multiple sources use it. This is mostly being done to declutter the debuff tray.
    • Fixed a bug where Ego Blade Annihilation didn't always consume Ego Leech stacks when fully charged.
    • Fixed a bug where Radiance was not properly tagged as an energy builder.
    • Fixed a bug where some Sorcery Circle powers could be dodged.
    • Fixed a bug where some healing specializations could be dodged.



    Strafe
    • Aversion Advantage: No longer has an internal cooldown and can be refreshed.



    Scything Blade
    • Removed Break Through advantage as the advantage cannot be used on powers that do not specify a target.



    Shadow Bolts
    • Despondency advantage: This effect now reduces dodge by its stated amount. Prior if the opponent had any dodge bonuses this ability had little to no effect.
    • Reduced the dodge reduction amount to 3%.
    • Is now considered to be a type of Mental State.



    Iron/Vicious/Lacerating Cyclone
    • New Advantage (2): Greatly increases your knock resistance while maintaining this power.



    Shockwave
    • New Advantage (2): Knocks targets towards you instead of down.

    Corrected diminishing returns on this archetype.
    Added a hue override on this archetype so all powers have matching hues.
    Replaced Strength secondary superstat with Recovery.
    Gave The Master a new innate talent that includes Recovery.
    Added "The Protector" innate talent that has the Master's old values.

    Overal Goals: We wanted to smooth out this archetype's power choices as it relied on Thundering Kicks for quite some time to deal damage, which isn't very exciting when leveling up.
    Replaced Strength with Recovery to assist this archetype with early level energy management. While strength helps it deal more damage, it's not critical to any of its abilities.
    Give the archetype more tools to tank with.


    New progression path:
    • 1 Vicious Strikes
    • 1 Thundering Kicks
    • 6 Thunderbolt Lunge OR Chained Kunai
    • 8 Lightning Reflexes

Running out of Unique FF builds due to the lack of updates and synergies! Playing since 1 February 2011 128 + Characters (21 ATs, 107 FFs) ALTitis for Life!

    They're basically just like the Arcane Demon pattern but for short gloves instead of long gloves. That is, if you color the both color things the same 1 color.​​

    We found a pretty big issue with the sandals last minute, and decided to cut them from the set. They will be made available from other source in the future once we're able to get them fixed.​​

    Also I would've expected the lockbox after cybernetic (rave I think) to have its stuff added to the Collectors store, is that happening?

    They won't be added to the lockbox, but likely as a reward from Questionite, Drifter, Event, mob drop, etc. They will wind up in game somewhere :p​​

    They won't be added to the lockbox, but likely as a reward from Questionite, Drifter, Event, mob drop, etc. They will wind up in game somewhere :p

    Bug: The 'fire' effect on TK melee is messed up with the new Dragon Fang sword. It's set much 'lower' down the sword than it should be.

  • @chaosdrgnz43 no, Showdown is a separate power. If you do the High Noon event you can see the difference between them for yourself. And if you've ever faced Ascii Oakley, you'll see that her version of DFD is much stronger and freezes you in place while she uses it.

    I would expect the respec to occur when the MA pass is released, not when the lockbox is released.

    Please contact customer service if you have a character (freeform or archetype) with unarmed martial arts abilities who did not receive a respec.
    Keep in mind that the free respec is seperate from others, and does not stack, so be sure to check that out first.​​

    Thoughts from a top tier Dodge Tank:

    "Fixed a bug where the dodge buff could fall off if you blocked too quickly."
    - Dear god, thank you for this, you have no idea how annoying working around that was.

    "Changed the dodge buff so it wouldn't reduce in effectiveness against high level targets."
    - Again, thank you for this. This made Teleios Ascaendant a bit of a pain

    "Reduced the duration of the dodge buff to 12 seconds (from 15)."
    - ...WHY!?!?!? Was that extra 3 seconds REALLY that big of a deal? Now I have that much less time to do actual damage with something other than Thundering Kick's pathetic damage.

    "This power is now an area effect. Cost slightly increased for being an area effect."
    - I mean... like... sure I guess... but... the damage still sucks...

    "New Advantage #1"
    - So my awesome Form of the Master advantage is now a useless add on to a power that I already don't have any advantage points left because I need rank 3 for the +18% dodge bonus? ...great.

    "New Advantage #2"
    - So I'm spending advantage points to turn my dodge bonus into a different combo power? Why not just make a different combo power?

    "Floating Lotus Blossom"
    - Still garbage. Don't be fooled. Still no reason to take this over rank 3.

    "Crashing Wave Kick"
    - Thanks for adding Trauma, but the dodge advantage is now garbage, so it's irrelevant again.

    "Drunken Master Advantage"
    - Aversion buff to Dodge and Avoidance is awesome, but why is it only on Critical hits on your Energy Builder? Ugh.

    Overall, bug fixes were great, but reliable and effective dodge tanking is still impossibly difficult, and probably even harder now unless you have all the best gear and mods, like me.

    Really disapointed about the changes made to dodge tanking, the bug fixes are nice but everything else is really meh.

    (my dodge tank was finally at 100% at Kiga, bleh.)

    Definitely agree about dodge tanks. I'm not sure why they're being expected to do more in order to tank properly than someone using just about any other defensive passive. I've been wanting to try one, but now I'm not going to bother.
    • Splitting the overall intended dodge bonus up into a bunch of bite-sized advantages/buffs instead of consolidating them into a single buff available on several different powers--what was the point of this?
    • Having one of them only available through an energy builder's critical hits makes even less sense.
    • Lowering the duration on these buffs doesn't allow a very large margin for error. Meanwhile, all you need to do as a defiance tank is take damage, which is kind of what tanks do anyway.
    • Making Thundering Kicks the "tanking combo" instead of allowing proper customization through advantages really hurts theme options. There's no practical reason to take it over 100 hands as a non-tank unless I'm okay with intentionally gimping myself in the name of theme. Should've been something like chi flame baseline + advantages for demolish and lithe.

    I feel like unarmed was rushed through the assembly line, which is unfortunate because I was really hoping this one would turn out a lot better than it did. Disregarding a lot of really good feedback ended up hurting the overall quality of the end product.​​
    (Hopefully) Useful CO Resources: HeroCreator (character planner), Cosmic Timers/Alert Checklist, Blood Moon Map, Anniversary Cat Map, and more (eventually, anyway).

    Honestly, the eye stuff and card sleeve look cool but the Fingerless gloves are "meh"​​

    What? Were you expecting your character wearing gloves and missing his/hers fingers?
    How is Stoic Flight? You fly in this position?

    Can you use your powers?
    It reminds me of Cell in DBZ.

    Based on the description, I'd say it's functionally the same as regular flight, just with a different idle pose.

    I'm really happy a MA got access to Devoid debuff :+1:
    Smoke Bomb Lunge
    Lowered activation time to 0.5 seconds, very slightly reduced damage and cost because of this.
    This lunge should feel more responsive.
    Sudden Strike advantage: Considered to be a Chi Power effect.
    Excellent fix, the power no longer lags :+1:
    Elbow Slam
    The animation for this power has been changed.
    This power is now a short lunge.
    Ok now I love this power even more, the animation is a total Smackdown
