[RESOLVED] HELP PLEASE! Launcher is giving FATAL ERROR!

I was playing CO this morning and it suddenly froze. I tried to minimize it and Win+D my way out but nothing happened.
I pulled a hard shut down on my PC and came back up. Tried to launch the game through arc and it came to the patch screen and gave me the option to play.
As soon as I pressed play, the following error showed up:
"Error reading application id. Please either write it to steam_appid.txt or use the launcher!"
I tried several times to launch the game but it kept giving me the same error.
Re-installed Arc and CO all over again but its still giving me the same error.
What do I do?

A second clean install solved the problem, though.
