As the title suggests, looking for the optimum build for PvE efficiency. After leveling a toxic/magic build to 40 and gearing him up, the final result was dissapointing and very lackluster in that his survivability and damage are underwhelming (and that's after retconning twice).
Theme and powersets are completely irrelevent here - just looking for a really solid build (not squishy and sufficiently powerful) that I can work on gearing for grinding SCR and GCR. Any thoughts or suggestions would be welcome :P

also, Infernal SN and Sorc can be semi-decent at 100ft range, though I may not mix them much in one build (outside of a few powers).

I'll attach the infernal w/magic build as a reference.

Gears mostly for Int here. The blades summon can add a bit of dps in the background while you use Soul Beam or Star Barrage filler (w/ Wisp's debuffs). The last few powers can be changed around a bit, if you like.

But yea, in generally melee builds are stronger at single target, if you can put up w/ the higher risks and obv diff playstyle.

I think this build might be more feasible in the melee power sets with something like unstoppable/defiance combo. (also, quick side note - would really like to include a 360 AoE in there somewhere, struggled without it trying to huddle them up for star barrage)
Thanks for the reply flowcyto I really appreciate your help!
ofc, a melee build can also work, though keep in mind that melee dps aren't really much tankier overall when built for optimal dps like ranged. You still may want to consider a hybrid + defensive passive approach in that case (knowing that's a big hit to base dps).
There's many very good melee builds now, but an easy starting point is Dual Blades- mostly cause EotS is a versatile AoE that can be used for dps (re-channeling it before the dmg drops off too much) or turtling (fully channeling it to max out the dmg shield), and cause the rest of the set is straightforward:

Puts up Shredded w/ Blade Tempest and otherwise uses DW as its main boss attack. I normally don't rank toggles, but here you have extra adv points and ranking MA forms can make you build Focus stacks a bit faster (its low priority, though, so you can always use those adv points elsewhere). Although the build is a bit sturdy for a dps, you are still using a offensive passive so don't expect to replace a tank. Gears mostly for Dex, w/ some Con and Rec.

I am very interesting in Bestial, would you kindly make me a build for it? I am new very new player only played 3 days. Thank you .

This FF build isn't for optimal dps, but for ease-of-use. It utilizes a defensive passive in the Hybrid role (the default one for FFs) so you'll have good survival for a dps unit (though you won't be doing as much dps as a committed dps build). You will want to gear a for bit of Constitution (Con) to boost your maxHP- giving you more survival and to give Regen more room to work. Since Con is also a Superstat (SS) here, you'll also boost your damage a bit while gearing for some of it (so its win-win).
Aspect of the Bestial (AotB) is your toggle/form, which boosts your damage and gives you energy each time you bleed (or poison) something. After you train it, activate AotB by charging it once, and then you only have to re-activate it again if you die (or accidentally turn it 'off' by hitting the toggle's hotkey again). AotB scales specifically with Strength (Str), and Str should be your main stat to gear for this build as it will contribute the most to your damage (Str also boosts your knock resistance as a side-perk).
Supernatural Power (SP) is the Energy Unlock (EU) that gives you extra energy when you use a Bestial (or Infernal) attack below the energy threshold- essentially giving you bottom-less energy as long as you're using mostly Bestial (or Infernal) powers. You don't have to manually activate an EU, as they are 'on' at all times, but you can only train in one EU at a time. Recovery (Rec) and Endurance (End) can both help make SP work better, so you probably want a bit of both of those stats.
So to summarize, your gearing priority here is probably gonna be: Str > Con > End + Rec. Secondary stats like +crit rating, +crit severity, +defense, +maxHP, +cost discount, and +cd reduction are also good to look out for on gear.
- Basic attack playstyle:
For most fights, you'll be lunging in and using Vicious Cyclone for AoE, and using Shred as a cheap way to finish off enemies. For single-target dps, you'll want to alternate between Shred and charged Massacre- using Brawler's Setup from Shred to boost Massacre's dmg by 20%. In groups, try to get behind enemies to exploit Flanking (assuming they're paying attention to someone else).
I included many defensive things to help you out, should things get tough:
- Regen: a nice, relatively hands-off defensive passive that heals you and boosts your defenses automatically. This is automatically slotted once its trained, and as long as you stay in the Hybrid (or Tank) role it will stay slotted and active.
- a block enhancer (Antagonize): blocking is your best non-cd tool to defend against enemies overwhelming you and is good against enemy charged attacks, so boosting the power of that block can be nice for tougher fights.
- a small, but short-cd heal (Conviction). More for maintenance and to assist Regen in keeping you healthy.
- a big, but longer-cd heal (Resurgence). Good if you are at low health and want to quickly top it off to ward off a death.
- Masterful Dodge, which will make you dodge all incoming hits for 15 seconds and for roughly half the damage- a good burst mitigation cd if you are taking (or are going to be taking) lotsa dmg but want to keep pressing the attack.
- a self-res (Rebirth), if you die and want to get back into the fight. A threat wipe (like Cower in Bestial) can be a good alternative to this. Again, keep in mind that you lose your toggle/form (here, AotB) and buffs when you die, so after you res you'll want to turn your toggle back 'on' before re-engaging.
I hope that detail is sufficient for you. Much of this info can be applied to all types of FF builds, even if the power choices and scalars are different for each one.

I do have life time gold permit. I usually play with my friend, he is new player too, he played a healer that can gives me shield and HP healing when in combat, I just trying to find out what is the best way to cooperate with him, what role or what type build should I use. Should I go a ranged DPS or melee? most of the time I play with him, less solo any BOSS or missions.
