Heavy Weapons/Lightning Build

nevyn34nevyn34 Posts: 104 Arc User
I'm playing around with a heavy weapons/short range AoE lightning attack hero. I'm not sure what buff form/energy form I should use, what AO/AD I should use and which attacks are better for the playstyle I had in mind.

Here's what I got so far: http://aesica.net/co/herocreator.htm?v=27&n=&d=12380iGLQF9A0100601000H10J14099A035800H9031A00H60316011K03H5039K01K5011L000DKv3SWh3bDM

Any ideas or help is appreciated.
Current Roster:

Frostbiter (Freeform Ice DPS)
Battle Hazard (Unleashed AT)
Glacial Tyrant (Glacier AT)
Silver Mantra ( Freeform Single Blade DPS)
Magnetros (Freeform Heavy Weapons/Lightning Hybrid)

Here's how I may make a HW + Elec build:

    (Unnamed Build) - Freeform
    v2.3.2-27

    Super Stats
    Level 6: Dexterity (Primary)
    Level 10: Endurance (Secondary)
    Level 15: Constitution (Secondary)

    Talents
    Level 1: The Chiller (Dex: 10, Con: 10, Rec: 8, End: 10)
Level 6: Boundless Reserves (Con: 5, End: 5)
    Level 9: Acrobat (Dex: 5, Con: 5)
    Level 12: Accurate (Dex: 5, End: 5)
Level 15: Quick Recovery (Con: 5, Rec: 5)
Level 18: Amazing Stamina (Rec: 5, End: 5)
    Level 21: Impresario (Dex: 5, Rec: 5)

    Powers
    Level 1: Electric Bolt
Level 1: Cleave (Rank 2, Rank 3, Accelerated Metabolism)
Level 6: Sparkstorm (Rank 2, Electric Personality)
    Level 8: Unstoppable (Rank 2, Rank 3)
    Level 11: Power Source
    Level 14: Ionic Reverberation
    Level 17: Ball Lightning (Triplicity)
    Level 20: Conviction (Rank 2, Rank 3)
Level 23: Lightning Storm (Rank 2, Stolen Thunder)
    Level 26: Masterful Dodge
Level 29: Arc of Ruin (No Quarter, Wildfire)
    Level 32: Guard (Rank 2)
Level 35: Electrical Siphon (Rank 2, Rank 3)
    Level 38: Thundering Return
    Adv. Points: 36/36

    Travel Powers
    Level 6: Athletics (Rank 2, Rank 3)
    Level 35: Flight

    Specializations
    Dexterity: Gear Utilization (3/3)
    Dexterity: Power Swell (2/2)
    Dexterity: Deadly Aim (3/3)
    Dexterity: Expose Weakness (2/2)
    Warden: Fortified Gear (2/3)
    Warden: Slaughter (3/3)
    Warden: Ruthless (2/2)
    Warden: The Best Defense (3/3)
    Vindicator: Aggressive Stance (2/2)
    Vindicator: Merciless (3/3)
    Vindicator: Modified Gear (2/2)
    Vindicator: Mass Destruction (3/3)
    Mastery: Warden Mastery (1/1)

Ball Lit and Sparkstorm toggle can be sued on top of Cleave to add dps and proc the toggle and EU. LStorm is mostly for a ranged dps option, and Arc can be tapped for its debuff. Can also try Str PSS if you want a more resilient approach w/ Juggernaut. Gears mostly for End, w/ some Con and Rec

Thanks! So an active offense isn't really needed?
    Current Roster:

    Frostbiter (Freeform Ice DPS)
    Battle Hazard (Unleashed AT)
    Glacial Tyrant (Glacier AT)
Silver Mantra ( Freeform Single Blade DPS)
    Magnetros (Freeform Heavy Weapons/Lightning Hybrid)

In AO can help, but its not essential for PvE either. If you can find room for one, go ahead.

I plan on doing Cosmics. Gotta make those dino checks so everybody doesn't yell at everybody. ;) I'm pretty meh about Conviction anyway. I barely use it on other builds and I just hit it to cheat my score up a little on raids. What one would you suggest?

The AOs that add flat bonuses to crit/severity (Ice Sheath, Imbue, and Lock N Load) are all pretty solid.

If your goal is single-target dps, I wouldn't recommend using Cleave as a main attack. Here's a setup that uses Annihilate:

    (Unnamed Build) - Freeform
    v2.3.2-27

    Super Stats
    Level 6: Strength (Primary)
    Level 10: Constitution (Secondary)
    Level 15: Recovery (Secondary)

    Talents
    Level 1: The Devastator (Str: 10, Con: 10, Rec: 10, End: 8)
Level 6: Physical Conditioning (Str: 5, Con: 5)
    Level 9: Impresario (Dex: 5, Rec: 5)
    Level 12: Relentless (Str: 5, Rec: 5)
    Level 15: Bodybuilder (Str: 5, End: 5)
Level 18: Boundless Reserves (Con: 5, End: 5)
Level 21: Amazing Stamina (Rec: 5, End: 5)

    Powers
    Level 1: Electric Bolt
Level 1: Sparkstorm (Rank 2, Electric Personality)
    Level 6: Ionic Reverberation
    Level 8: Unstoppable (Rank 2, Rank 3)
    Level 11: Eruption (Magma Burst)
Level 14: Arc of Ruin (No Quarter, Wildfire)
    Level 17: Enrage (Endorphin Rush)
Level 20: Annihilate (Rank 2, Scorching Blade)
    Level 23: Ball Lightning (Triplicity)
    Level 26: Lock N Load (Rank 2)
Level 29: Electrical Siphon (Rank 2, Rank 3)
    Level 32: Guard (Rank 2, Rank 3)
    Level 35: Blinding Light
    Level 38: Masterful Dodge
    Adv. Points: 35/36

    Travel Powers
    Level 6: Athletics (Rank 2, Rank 3)
    Level 35: Flight

    Specializations
    Strength: Swole (3/3)
    Strength: Physical Peak (2/3)
    Strength: Brutality (2/2)
    Strength: Juggernaut (3/3)
    Warden: Fortified Gear (3/3)
    Warden: Ruthless (2/2)
    Warden: Upper Hand (2/3)
    Warden: The Best Defense (3/3)
    Vindicator: Aggressive Stance (2/2)
    Vindicator: Merciless (3/3)
Vindicator: The Rush of Battle (2/3)
    Vindicator: Focused Strikes (3/3)
    Mastery: Strength Mastery (1/1)

Gears mostly for Str, with some Con.

If you're comfortable dropping Con and going glass-cannon, you could run it with STR/DEX/REC (gears mostly for Dex; Aggression and Modified Gear assume you have some Offense in your gear).
