Maximizing Pseudo Pets?

After a recent post on the forums, I became very curious about a build that focused on using pseudo pets. The problem is that I don't fully understand how they work. Since I can't play until my new computer arrives, I decided to try to come with something. Here's as far as I got:

<b><u><a href="http://aesica.net/co/herocreator.htm?v=25&amp;n=Mysterion X&amp;d=14630n000000000000700074007F00M903M603540349031D037S057G000000000000000000000200000000">Mysterion X - Freeform</a></u></b>
v2.3.2-25

<b><u>Super Stats</u></b>
Level 6: <b>Intelligence</b> <font size="-1"><i>(Primary)</i></font>
Level 10: <b>Presence</b> <font size="-1"><i>(Secondary)</i></font>
Level 15: <b>Constitution</b> <font size="-1"><i>(Secondary)</i></font>

<b><u>Talents</u></b>
Level 1: <b>The Witch</b> <font size="-1"><i>(Con: 10, Int: 8, Pre: 10, Rec: 10)</i></font>
Level 6:
Level 9:
Level 12:
Level 15:
Level 18:
Level 21:

<b><u>Powers</u></b>
Level 1: <b>Sonic Blaster</b>
Level 1: <b>Pulse Beam Rifle</b>
Level 6: <b>Concentration</b>
Level 8: <b>Aura of Arcane Clarity</b> <font size="-1"><i>(Rank 2, Rank 3)</i></font>
Level 11: <b>Sigils of Radiant Sanctuary</b> <font size="-1"><i>(Rank 2, Rank 3)</i></font>
Level 14: <b>Wall of Ice</b> <font size="-1"><i>(Rank 2, Rank 3)</i></font>
Level 17: <b>Dust Devil</b> <font size="-1"><i>(Rank 2, Rank 3)</i></font>
Level 20: <b>Ball Lightning</b> <font size="-1"><i>(Rank 2, Rank 3)</i></font>
Level 23: <b>Orbital Cannon</b> <font size="-1"><i>(Rank 2, Anvil of Dawn)</i></font>
Level 26: <b>Molecular Self-Assembly</b>
Level 29:
Level 32:
Level 35:
Level 38:
Adv. Points: <b>24/36</b>

<b><u>Travel Powers</u></b>
Level 6:
Level 35:

<b><u>Specializations</u></b>

As you can see, I'm not sure how to get the most damage out of them. AFAIK high intelligence and AOAC can allow you to stack Wall of Ice & Dust Devil. Radiant Sanctuary will keep you fairly safe as the pseudo pets won't draw aggro to you. I *think* thepseudo pets also proc concentration. But after that I'm lost... Any suggestions or advice?

Separate entities don't scale from auras like normal pets- they tend to scale w/ most of ur usual stats like normal attack powers instead. Also, afiak, summoning them doesn't usually proc a ranged toggle, though you'll want normal attacks anyways.

One variant of such a build:

    (Unnamed Build) - Freeform
    v2.3.2-25

    Super Stats
    Level 6: Ego (Primary)
    Level 10: Intelligence (Secondary)
    Level 15: Constitution (Secondary)

    Talents
    Level 1: The Invincible (Con: 10, Int: 10, Ego: 8, End: 10)
Level 6: Healthy Mind (Con: 5, Int: 5)
    Level 9: Ascetic (Con: 5, Ego: 5)
    Level 12: Academics (Int: 5, Ego: 5)
Level 15: Quick Recovery (Con: 5, Rec: 5)
    Level 18: Negotiator (Int: 5, Rec: 5)
    Level 21: Worldly (Ego: 5, Rec: 5)

    Powers
    Level 1: Particle Rifle
Level 1: Pulse Beam Rifle (Rank 2, Rank 3)
    Level 6: Concentration
    Level 8: Quarry (Rank 2, Rank 3)
    Level 11: Conviction (Rank 2, Rank 3)
    Level 14: Molecular Self-Assembly
Level 17: Dust Devil (Rank 2, Triple Threat)
Level 20: Electrical Current (Rank 2, Bad Wiring)
Level 23: Ball Lightning (Rank 2, Rank 3)
Level 26: Strafing Run (Rank 2, Rank 3)
    Level 29: Resurgence (Rank 2)
Level 32: Fire Snake (Trail Blazer)
Level 35: Energy Shield (Rank 2)
    Level 38: Rebirth
    Adv. Points: 34/36

    Travel Powers
    Level 6:
    Level 35:

    Specializations
    Ego: Force of Will (2/2)
    Ego: Insight (3/3)
    Ego: Follow Through (2/3)
    Ego: Sixth Sense (3/3)
    Guardian: Fortified Gear (3/3)
    Guardian: Ruthless (2/2)
    Guardian: Find the Mark (2/3)
    Guardian: The Best Defense (3/3)
    Vindicator: Aggressive Stance (2/2)
    Vindicator: Merciless (3/3)
    Vindicator: Focused Strikes (3/3)
    Vindicator: Mass Destruction (2/3)
    Mastery: Ego Mastery (1/1)

Gears mostly for Int and some Con.

Generally speaking, pseudo pets scale with your personal damage bonuses (and are unaffected by buffs on them), but do not benefit from your crit chance or defense penetration.

    Thanks guys! Great info!!

@flowcyto I like the theme of that build. What does the attack chain on that look like? Is Electric Current also a pseudo pet? And how does Fire Snake work in? I thought that was primarily a debuff for fire dps builds.

Nah, Elec Current is just there to give you an AoE filler attack in-between using the "pet" cds (it can also CC, if you want to keep the stun adv vs. r3's dmg)- like PBR is for ST dps. Its also important to keep Conc proc-ing while using the cd attacks that won't proc it. Attack chain is mainly just using the cds as you see fit and throwing filler attacks in-between, though keep in mind that PBR's dmg ramps up so you may want to use full channels of it usually.

Firesnake still debuffs for Elemental dmg- just not as much as Fire iirc. Its not a huge boost, but since its an entity power I thought I'd throw it in there. It could be a diff one, if you wanted.

what about pyromance's/warlock blades? wouldn't those be considered pseudo pets?

Thanks that makes sense. I'm going to play around in the builder. I'd like to try Night Warrior with the Pseudo Pets for Q zone soloing. But it might also make a good ranged dps build for zone events

NW can be fine for the overall dmg boost (and Sneak), but as Panta mentioned, those 'pets' won't benefit from NW's 10% defense penetration boost.

The charge speed reduction on NW can be helpful, and at least some summons don't break you out of sneak.

So it looks like Quarry is a better choice than NW. Night Warrior is great, but Quarry's buffs offer a broader range of benefits. One more question, does it make sense to swap out Fire Snake for an AO? I know Ego Surge got nerfed. Would something like Ice or Electric Sheath work? Mostly, thinking about Spike Damage from Strafing Run.

They're an "uncontrolled pet", like sigils, zombies, and shadows.

If you want an AO, then I'd take Imbue, LnL, or Ice Sheath.

While we are talking about p-pets, can someone confirm that they do not dump aggro onto the summoner the way regular pets do?

Incorporeal ones dump aggro immediately onto the summoner, instead of only doing so when the pet dies. Attackable entities, such as sigils, behave like regular pets afaik.

So I put together a variant for Bloodmoon, Aura of Arcane Clarity, Int/Pre/Ego, Avenger/Overseer. Tapping the blast between pseudo-pet launches for Preemptive Strike. What I've run into is that since I'm in Support Role, I'm sort of expected to be able to heal people. Unfortunately, my choices for a 100' heal are Psionic Healing (slow as molasses), Rebuke (kind of weak), and Iniquity (Does not heal me). Thoughts?

I may just take more than one heal- Iniquity is great for hps, but you'll also need a self-heal then.

When running an aggressive support build I'm a fan of the Life Steal type heals. Since they both attack and heal at the same time! Life Essence or Life Drain. These are great for open missions or raids and I've never had anyone complain about me using them.
