Can you please make the Anniversary Gift opening sound be client side only? I'm sincerely fed up of hearing it. If people would at least take in consideration how annoying that can be and not open it at public areas, but unfortunate, no.
Something to consider in other events too, if there are other gift opening, like xmas.
Yes, I turn off my sound, but that is not a fix, is another inconvenience, especially when I'm lissen to music to make the grind more tolerable.

Go into options and turn down ambient sounds and you turn down gifts without affecting any music or combat effects or whatever else isn't in the ambient category.
My suggestion would be something more permanent, that won't bother anyone but only the one that is using the gifts. If can't be made client side only, then change the sound to something less noisy. For example a simple sound of a box opening. Like this:

So because you would have to turn down ambient sounds, something that takes all of a few seconds, and because you would lose other ambient sounds, you would rather not have any sound at all?
You do you, but this makes no sense at all.
"I like to listen to music when I play, but since this one sound is annoying, rather than doing something to cut it and a few other background noises out of the game so I can better listen to my music, I will play in complete silence instead".
Turning off sound completely for a brief moment to avoid this annoyance will even take less time, than going to a menu and changing a particular sound option. Moving away from the location, if is not interesting or obligatory to stay there, do also take less time. My suggestion would solve this annoyance, not matter how much importance each person give to it.
And you last paragraph is just a silly assumption in an attempt to ridicularize me. Just because I mentioned that I like to lissen to music while grinding, doesn't mean that I'm doing so all the time while playing, or even that the only option is to do so is by using the same machine that is running the game. So is not like turning off the speakers volume for a moment is equally playing in complete silence.
And I'll stop here. If I continue the argument I'll be pretty much fighting, and my original positive intentions of improving the quality of the game be tainted.
No, I was trying to be helpful. You are the one that is looking for a fight.
And I do not have to try and "ridicularize" you.
Your attempt at a rebuttal has done that all by itself.
