Here is an older build. While it is useful its not great. I would appreciate some thoughts.

Vindicator: Focused Strikes (2/3)
Vindicator: Mass Destruction (3/3)
Mastery: Dexterity Mastery (1/1)

I was hoping for damage through crit and to be able to pour gear into Constitution.

Changes to Ego Surge have made it less desirable. What is the replacement for crit boost now?

Yes I have Invulnerability. Mainly because I find my DPS is so much lower when I am dead. Plenty of other survival tools. One might say they aren't needed but I might beg to differ when laying face down.

Earth Splitter is so good for everything except damage. Its ranged, it knocks up without knocking back, it disrupts like a mini-daze, its AoE, it feeds enraged, applies clinging flames. It just does the damage of a flicked noodle. Annihilation might seem like a better choice and it would be if the mobs would just stay in one place and not hit me back while I go though the weeks of wind up.

I got Energy Shield for the blue but I am wondering if I should just get Fire shield so the clinging flames can work though Thermal Reverb. I don't have Endurance SS so Energy shield might still be better. Or I could dump intelligence for endurance. Not sure which way to go there.

Sigils of Ebon Weakness is there as a heal that has an effect attached to it. I tried Mental Leech as well but its pretty weak and this build takes damage like a window with a baseball fetish. I need a heal that will not tank my already awful damage. I could go with Conviction and that makes sense. It may be that I am just a few orders of magnitude too low on Constitution to expect to be able to stand up to much.

How to modernize the build without sacrificing too much survival and possibly picking up DPS (unless that's just gonna happen by upping secondary stats). What do you think?

    Here's a sturdy HW hybrid-dps build:

    Level 10: Constitution (Secondary)
    Level 15: Endurance (Secondary)

    Talents
    Level 1: The Behemoth (Con: 10, End: 8, Str: 10, Rec: 10)
Level 6: Physical Conditioning (Str: 5, Con: 5)
Level 9: Boundless Reserves (Con: 5, End: 5)
    Level 12: Bodybuilder (Str: 5, End: 5)
Level 15: Quick Recovery (Con: 5, Rec: 5)
    Level 18: Relentless (Str: 5, Rec: 5)
Level 21: Amazing Stamina (Rec: 5, End: 5)

    Powers
    Level 1: Bludgeon
    Level 1: Eruption (Magma Burst)
    Level 6: Enrage (Endorphin Rush)
    Level 8: Invulnerability (Rank 2, Rank 3)
Level 11: Arc of Ruin (No Quarter, Wildfire)
    Level 14: Thermal Reverberation
    Level 17: Conviction (Rank 2, Rank 3)
Level 20: Annihilate (Rank 2, Scorching Blade)
    Level 23: Resurgence (Rank 2)
Level 26: Force Shield (Rank 2, Rank 3, Force Sheathe)
Level 29: Vicious Descent (Relentless, Work Up)
    Level 32: Masterful Dodge
    Level 35: Aggressor (Rank 2)
    Level 38: Rebirth

    Travel Powers
    Level 6:
    Level 35:

    Specializations
    Strength: Swole (3/3)
    Strength: Physical Peak (2/3)
    Strength: Brutality (2/2)
    Strength: Juggernaut (2/3)
    Strength: Overpower (1/3)

    Vindicator: Merciless (3/3)
    Vindicator: Focused Strikes (3/3)
    Vindicator: Mass Destruction (2/3)
    Mastery: Strength Mastery (1/1)

If you want a dmg debuff, then you'd prob have to axe one of the other defensive moves for it, though I prob wouldn't rely on sigils cause they can get destroyed and are immobile. Gears mostly for Str and some Con.

    Specializations

    Strength: Physical Peak (2/3)

    Vindicator: Focused Strikes (3/3)
    Vindicator: Mass Destruction (2/3)
    Mastery: Strength Mastery (1/1)

I was having a problem with power so I started out with Throw Fire w/Burning Desire to get the clinging flames out there right away. Plus, I felt a little better with a ranged Energy Builder.

Needless to say, this resulted in a mad reshuffling of powers to get everything back in the build. I went with fire shield to spread those clinging flames ever faster.

I traded out the gap closer with Bionic Shielding because I still felt really glassy.

Not married to the debuff. Really I just wanted the heal. Having a debuff attached to it was just a perk. I won't miss it.

This build definitely does way, way more damage. Its still a little light in shrug-it-off base defense, but con gear will make a dent in that and once I get a mass of con I might switch Invulnerability to Defiance. That might handle ant remaining power problems too.

    Thanks much Flow.

The edits look alright, though you hopefully shouldn't be needing to use the end builder by max lvl w/ decent gear. Only main issue w/ Defiance on a non-tank is that you can't guarantee you'll get hit in groups to keep it stacked.
