Its a Might Tank build built for survival with two ADs, flat damage reduction and damage resistance. Some healing inline and some on-demand. A few big hitting powers and enough knock-back to give Gandhi a rage-quiting aneurysm.

But it also comes with some questions:

Inertial wet blanket
Inertial Damper dumps your damage. I remember when it used to say that right in the text, something like 10% right off the top, but it no longer says that. Does that mean it no longer soaks your dps. It says it makes it harder to gain energy now but with defiance giving its tiny all, energy doesn't seem to be a problem.

Form letter
Can't have two energy forms. TK eruption can proc an energy form and I see the visual cue for that form when it happens and I see the buff pop up in my listing. But I never lose my Inertial Damper buff in the listed buffs for my character. Do I really have both? Did I secretly lose one in a way that only the numbers can tell?

TK Eruption is supposed to carry with it a damage resistance as well. Am I just secretly trading Damper's flat reduction for a temp jump in resistance?
___________________________________________________________

I am pretty pleased with the build overall. No energy unlock but with Energy Shield and Defiance, I feel like I can get away with it. Inertial Damper gives Defiance the time it needs to become mediocre useful. Bionic Shielding along with Conviction gives me a way out of turtle mode.

The slot where TK eruptions is now could be any number of things. I must have tried half a dozen powers, buffs, attacks, circles, tons of stuff. Nothing really fits perfectly.

The best mechanical match I could find was Fissure w/ the healing advantage. Having so much defense gives heals a real chance to add up so even a little heal like the one you get from standing in Fissure is super useful. That AoE damage is great and the AoE knockdown is nice too for disrupting those pesky groups. I don't think it would be much more than annoying to a boss though. Easy activation, decent up time, I bet it makes great julienne fries.

PTS really lacks a hard target boss testing thingy. I can fight mobs of mobs but its that big fellow that really hurts out in the content. But I digress.

What do you think? What would go better with a build like this? Is there too much knock back? You know that boss isn't going anywhere. Too much defense? Think I need to convert that Inertial Damper to Enraged? Let me know.

The only 2 powers you really need to annoy people w/ KBs are Haymaker and Roomsweeper. I'd pair the latter w/ a reverse pull-in like EWave w/ adv to set it up better. Something like this, maybe:

As an aside, mind Leech is a great power to go in the spot where TK Eruption is now. I have no ego to speak of but it is a stackable heal and a DoT that can worry away at minions while you smack around Lieutenants and bosses. Oh, and it can have Challenge.

Not to mention, a telepathic might tank, how Mary Sue is that, right?

Can you think of any other powers that have some amount of damage, some amount of healing and might synergize better with a might build for that spot?

Mental Leech's DoT is pretty low dps, but you'd mostly take it for an easy MSA trigger, a quick AoE tag w/ Challenge, and for its minor healing (and/or if using Mind Drain's AoE adv, since iirc that takes MLeech's debuff to work). Ego Sprites w/ adv may be better if you want a spammable version (its pbAoE, but if ur a melee unit that's not much of an issue).

Testing this out it looks like Mental Leech hits for a little less than Ego Sprites, say like ten points of damage each tick. But Mental Leech seems to heal for at least double, maybe more in crowds.

So if I were packing Ego and could make Sprites hurt, they would be the way to go for sure. But since I am in for the survival game, I am looking for those heals and Mental Leech seems to bring more in my test.

Plus there us a stylistic consideration. As an inveterate macro junkie, that cool down on Mental Leech works out in my favor whereas the infinite spammability of Sprites chews up my blue unless I really pay attention to my twitchy button mashing ways.

But that's just me. The real consideration, I think, is that Sprites hits a little harder, Leech seems to heal a lot more.

Dang it Flow, now I want to make a Sprite dot tank build with MSA. I'll call it Wait for It... Or maybe Suspense.

DoT tanking used to be pretty strong w/ the old threat mechanics, but now that Challenge has more normalized threat gen across the board (overall a good thing, imo) tank tps is more differentiated by base dps now, and TP DoTs still are kinda weak in that regard. It could still work, but it'd depend more on the base dps of the filler attack you use between their cds. At least DoTs still tick when blocking, and their debuffs are pretty nice for tanking.
