A person who uses a 1 button build, calling other people noobs... I mean, seriously? Listen up, kid. DW is overpowered, to an extent, where a blind monkey with half a brain (Sinnerella!?) could run a toon with it.
The delusion is strong, within some folks. Reality check: 1,2.
damn dude, i bet ur some big name pvped who can kill everyone with his 20 button build
It's not impossible to balance powers for pve and pvp... we just don't have devs that are willing and able to do it. Active Defense works great in pve... what are you talking about?
You should stop at "we just don't have [enough] devs".
I take this quote from a review that I agree with.
"customisation is so linear; everyone is after the optimal dps:survivability ratio with 0 reliance on other players = autonomous gameplay... Players don't need each other anymore... which in my opinion is a bad thing."
I only use PvP to test builds, with friends. Otherwise I try to remember whitelisting it on my toons.
So now, why PvP should be dead? Because people are -insert phrases that would get me banned from here, the Navy, and maybe Planet Earth itself- and roll around in that.
Literally, my very first day playing this game I took a break after hitting Level 15 and poked around RC to see what there was to see. Suddenly I was challenged to a duel, I checked the guy out and saw he was level 10 or so. I thought "Hey, this should be fun. 5 levels should be fine that he's still challenging." So I dueled him and watched his level change to 40.
After I was completely annihilated he said "Nice [crap]build. Scrub." FYI, it was a Behemoth AT.*
My experience with PvP after that? Everybody with "GIMME ALL DA COOL POWERS FOR ULTRA JANKY BROKEN BUILD! RABBLE! RABBLE! RABBLE!" builds.** I've noticed that the chain usually goes Travel Power Killer, Block Disable, Stun-lock, then spam the toxic Force Cascade until death. With the optional jump in a circle like an utter freak strategy thrown in.
It's not ALL the same though, you have the school of thought that believes that Ring-Outs equals wins with bragging rights that make pro-football touchdown celebrations look like 1st-grade school pageants.
So maybe if more held themselves to a code of honor. Anyways, that's why PvP is dead to me.
*I'm in no way posting this because I think my toon is the best. I don't even think they're in the top 10 or even top 100 of the best toons out there.
**There have been exceptions. I've accepted random duel challenges and it was fun and exciting. I even felt good about losing because the fight itself was so much fun.
