Frustrations making a mech

areeeareee Posts: 851 Arc User
I've tried repeatedly to make one. However the looks I use and the powers belonging to the mech set are in constant conflict. With Harmon alert I got warlord parts. Blaster bracer and a massive gun hand. So I made one mechanical hand and one gun hand. It's a gun. It should show up in the options to use to fire for weapons.

Nope. Not happening buuuuuddy.

Okay. One hand gun, start off with that. Second skill, rockets. Checked the power page for options on where to fire and... nope. Couldn't choose which hand it could fire from and the fingers pop right out of the gun when you use the skill once again ruining the look. Then I started paying attention. People got the Serpent back, with the rocket launchers. When they use their rocket skill... another one pops up and that one fires instead.

ARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes. Costume skin pieces, not weapon skin pieces.
    Or....Power Replacers.....
    Sadly.

Use SMG for a right gun-hand, and Tactical Missiles and/or Hand Cannon for a left Blaster bracer. Use Steady Shot for the energy builder. You might want another toggle to go with Hand Cannon if you use it. Two-Gun Mojo sort of works with a single gun-hand if you have the imaginary pistols.

Imaginary weapon skins are the remedy to some of these issues, as jellycupsowbug said. Unfortunately, those bits are available only during Foxbatcon.

There's actually one other straightforward alternative: skip the weapon-based powers entirely. For example, a Lightning Arc based build with a weapon hand for the left hand should work well as a mech with lightning gun.

It does take some frustrating trial and error to find which attacks use which hand, however, and few power sets are consistent with this sort of thing.

I decided to go with Cyborg. I'll have hand weapons and then some internal systems.
