Besides a goofy name, this build sports a Strength based approach with a mix of heavy weapons and wind powers for some cheap knocks.

Cleave has rampant to cut down on knocks to you. Invulnerability gives some survivability while Unstoppable would give more damage at the cost of being much more stoppable.

Force Shield with energy sheath is there for energy boosts when the bad guys feel like taking you on and since this is a melee build that can be pretty often.

Whirlwind is a spamable AoE that you can dump back to back if you have the blue or just toss it out in your rotation because it charges out pretty fast and last for a while when you let it go.

Big Hitters are Annihilate and to a lesser degree Typhoon. Tons of defense in the form of two ADs, Conviction and Bionic Shielding. I found in testing that being melee means never having to say you are sorry... and taking boatloads of incidental damage. So hopefully this will be enough to gut through the worst of it and keep doing that damage. Plus, that wirlwind is going to get you some attention so these defenses might make you a slightly harder target while you are swinging that sword around.

Some cons would be only one AO, so not as bursty as some might like. Also there is no dash or gap closer. Since you do have some ranged options, I figure you have a little time to get into melee range on your own.

So that's my invention exchange, what do you think Sirs?

I'd only take Whirlwind for its funky vortex adv, since its dps is pretty low. The build doesn't have an EU (or an easy fit for one). I suppose you could throw MSA to pay back Conviction at least. An Unstoppable version would prob want to trade End SS for Rec SS and may be able to skip on the EU. The build is alright otherwise, though I may take a rank from one of the Wind AoEs for R2 of Resurgence. I'd also get Physical Peak in Str PSS; '+offense from gear' options don't tend to add that much (unless ur using specific gear that gives large offense boosts). I'd also prob get Brutality instead of Overpower.

What would you suggest instead of whirlwind for an AOE minion killer? Maybe an electricity Aoe?

Well, Hurricane and Wind Breath can knock down for Enrage, or take LStorm w/ SD adv to knockdown, or just use R3 Sparkstorm. This is assuming you want another ranged AoE instead of something else. Its up to you, but there's a few options.

Okay, so all this got totally out of hand and went a different way.

In the spirit of mutation I present to you the next step in “what am I even doing?”.

So here I have scrapped the idea of sorcery altogether. I can still claim it with some recoloring but in looking for cheap knocks, Wind just wasn't cutting it and typhoon never got used.

I did replace Endurance SS for Recovery so I could dump the Energy Unlock. In its place goes Masterful Dodge for some more defensive goodness.

Annihilate remains the big damage but cleave can do almost as much. Energy wave hits pretty hard and charges pretty fast. Pyre give a little damage and a few knocks even for a tap. But I am going to need to invest in some +Endurance gear so I can fully charge pyre, I want that fire patch.

Range options are gone. I can't say that I miss them terribly. I usually end up in the bad guy's pocket anyway so I don't mind having to walk a few feet to reach them. If that Conflag jockey turns them all to mush before I get there, ehh, its fine. I get paid the same either way..

I feel like it does lots of damage and is reasonably resilient. Still gets knocked and tossed around like a cheeto in the wind but I guess that's just the way that's going to go, Rampant or not.

I figure to gear for enough End to fully pump Pyre then Con and Str. If I get enough Con I might be able to switch Invul to Defiance and put the ranks into quality of life movement powers. Whoo reckless spending!

Its a big change but it feels more efficient in test. What do you think?

Some Fire + HW? Its an easier fit, considering Thermal Reverb

Charged Pyre can proc TReverb via the flashfire patch, and provide wide AoE. Arc is there for cheaper, smaller AoE and for its debuffing adv (can tap it for bosses), while Eruption is a quick way to put up CF in melee. If you don't want Annihilate's KB then you can use Eruption and Arc till 3x knock resist is built up. Gears mostly for Str and Con, w/ some End and Rec for energy.
