Epidemic, working as intended?

So in the description of this power it says that using a full maintain will "double the stack" of deadly poison and allow it to stack up to 10. But when I use it, it never ever goes higher than a 5 stack. What's going on with that?

    Is it worth trying to keep the build around crazy DoT's and toxic damage or just give it up and go with a different build?

    'Doubling the stack' doesn't mean doubling its max amount of stacks, but rather doubling the current amount of stacks (though ofc there's an issue there where it can end still up w/ an odd number of stacks- likely just due to latency and not accounting for all ticks in-time properly).

    The wording on the in-game text is confusing in that it implies in one instance that it makes the max double to 10 as well, but it doesn't actually do this (and I doubt would be intended to do that, since that presents an unnecessary balancing issue that takes mroe coding, and that 10 max stacks mention isn't repeated elsewhere- rather that could just be a typo).

    Yeah it must be broken text, the text of the power literally states the number "10"

    I didn't see Gradii's reply before, but yea its true that DP used to stack to 10, so likely its just an issue w/ that text not being updated w/ the rest. I assume they wanted to make stacking mechanics more consistent w/ the powers re-vamp, and part of that was making DP stack to 5 like many other dots. Its been re-balanced around that 5 max after the large updates to Bestial and Infernal SN, so I wouldn't really worry too much about it.

    DP used to stack to 10, but it was also not tagged as either melee or ranged so its damage per stack was quite low; on common builds 5 stacks now are comparable to 10 stacks then. Specifying 10 in the description sounds like an error in the description.
