CO FREE ENDGAME channel

gradiigradii Posts: 11,744 Arc User
For those who feel an umoderated free channel would better suit their needs, another endgame channel appears. NO moderation will be enforced however players are asked to stay on topic. if there's someone you don't like, theres an ignore feature just for you!

the channel is CO Free Endgame becuase CO's endgame belongs to all of us.

Isn't there already a channel for endgame stuff that anyone can join? What's wrong with a channel being moderated?

Why would I want an endgame channel that's CO-free?

My only concern is that unmoderated channels just tend to turn into dirty jokes, whining and inane chatter. I mean, just ask Trade. It's practically Zone at some points.

However, badly moderated channels aren't much better.

Just because I muted you for complaining about PvP in a PvE channel doesn't mean an unmoderated channel is needed.

    Grow up.
  • What kind of person argues against an idea like this? It isn't like you have to join.

I like the idea of a channel where you can get a cosmic update, form a TA team, and discuss the thor trailer (friggin amazing!).

Besides, if you want to keep a channel on topic, an alternate for off topic discussion is the best way to achieve that.

Just curious. How many people use this channel now? I feel like I am on too many channels as is (and some of those don't stay on topic, like TA calls on the cosmic channel when there is a separate TA channel already).

We primarily try to keep Cosmic HQ on topic when cosmics are actually occurring, since people use the channel to communicate during those. If all cosmics are down then the channel often drifts off topic. We generally try to stop incendiary conversations because we know people will get upset and it'll turn into a big angry spammy argument. Talking about the thor trailer when all cosmics are down wouldn't really be an issue... unless someone like super hates thor and starts a big dramatic argument about the trailer and it turns into a flame fest.

Basically don't be a drama llama and you'll be fine.

I haven't really seen many people talking in the free co channel. Also TA is on topic for Cosmic HQ since it is a general endgame channel. That other TA channel is the private elite one, Cosmic HQ is for everyone to TA \o/ Unless you mean the private elite cosmic channel... that place is kind of a mess >.>

I dislike the whole idea of player made channels. They lead to elitism because humans at their very nature tend to be exclusionary and at times general arses.

You do realize that player made channels can be either public or private?

I love how the concept here is that a player made channel leads to elitism some how. That's akin to saying that walking is going to break your leg. One does not lead to another, though the actions of the individual can cause it to happen. No, it isn't elitism when people come in and refuse to be a team player. It's just a simple fact, you are not being a team player at that point, and you are at fault when you refuse to do so. It isn't elitism when people have asked you not to do something that can lead to the events taking longer or wiping and you continuously do it.

Well, player made channels don't have to lead to elitism, but someone who sets up a private one could only invite players that he/she feels are top caliber. Not saying that that is right or wrong, since anyone is free to set up a private channel and invite whoever he/she wants.

Seems like a reversal of cause and effect; the elitism, if any, is in the decision to create the invite-only channel.

It's usually the people that don't want to build to a team or build to be useful that generally call those that do as elitist because they want to be successful at the content. Ironically, they are generally the ones who claim their build is also "good enough" when the tank or healer is out performing them.

Pretty much this. If you willingly stand around blasting projectiles at a giant dino with deadly dino's breath, run TOWARDS encounters with giant deadly snowstorm spewing demigods with the potential to encase you in ice at will, or stand close to a ape that can throw fire at you while meteors randomly rain down on you, you're elite in my book.

    *thumbs up*
