Device Summons don't work?

So I had six summoning devices in my inventory that I saved from mission accomplishments and today I tried to use them.

Every single one disappeared from my inventory and nothing happened. Am I missing something? Are these junk? Is there a special method? Is this a bug that removes inventory items?

I don't know about the particular devices, but I purchase them from the Until vendor in the Recognition building. Each (summon device) costs 5 points and has 3 uses, so you probably just moved them on your utility area CTRL+1 to CTRL+5. They cannot be "used" from inventory. Also I equip them and use them on boss fights, they do work but only for a short duration.

They were gone from both of my bags and from the utility row. They just vanished.

It was already full of other things and that was already suggested. They were gone from both inventory bags and the 5 slots. There was no overflow bag.

I would not say they were gone unless I actually checked to make sure they were gone.

If you tried to use them directly from your inventory, or thought that there was a shortcut to quickly cycle out devices in your toolbelt, I'd say CO did a goof on ya. Maybe it did try to send them somewhere rather than just removing them from your inventory entirely. There are so many different inventories and shortcuts that I wouldn't be surprised if you tried a shortcut by right-clicking from the bag and the being sent somewhere you wouldn't expect it to be or even just disappearing entirely all because the spot it wanted to go to was already filled.

Just to be sure it is completely missing, check your aura inventory. It is the most recent inventory addition, and auras do have a right-click shortcut to send them there from regular inventory. As insane as it may sound, I wouldn't put it past CO's spaghetti code to somehow put items in there that shouldn't be.

I'm probably going to go and contemplate over my sanity now. May you somehow find your devices.

Wait.. were these permanent devices or temporary devices?

The summon devices that drop from mobs or that you buy from the UNTIL vendor have a limited number of uses (normally about three). So is it possible that you used them up?

They were all drops, but I never tried using one before that day.

    EDIT:
Ok, they all re-appeared in my inventory now. Weird....

Now the question is how to get it to work in the first place...

You use them by putting them in a device slot and clicking on them.

I know how they are supposed to work, thank you. This is a bug because they do not work that way - they vanish from the inventory when clicked on, nothing is summoned, and then they re-appear in the bag inventory later.

I have reported this as a bug. Is there a way to get an admin to move it to the bug section?

    Yes.

    Another idea...

Did these devices drop from alerts? Alerts will give you devices at level 30, even if you are under level 30.

When you leave the alert, the devices will be moved to your inventory (if you are under level 30) and you won't be able to re-slot them until you are the right level.

Nope. Just normal drops. It was a good thought - I had to learn about that from higher level items I got from drops (somehow I got a level 40 item before level 20).

Were these devices seasonal event drops? There are some with a fixed absolute lifespans.

Just throwing out ideas. Though if this were the issue, they wouldn't be reappearing.

If you're sidekicked to 40 you'll get "level appropriate" stuff that is level 40.

None of them have lifespans. I have never participated in seasonal events.

This problem is not related to the items. The items came back. The problem is related to them vanishing when I try to use them and then reappearing later.

I don't know what that is - I am a new player. Because game chat doesn't work for me, I haven't done anything except solo endeavors and basic alerts.
