Trump says the 'fake news' media is the "enemy of the American people", however, through Twitter, he reports quite a lot of inaccurate things himself.

...Is he not-so-stealthily calling himself an enemy of the American people...?

It's the old Republican trick. You see, they accuse YOU of what THEY'RE doing. They've been doing it for decades. In this case, Trump wants you to think everything else is fake news, so you think his is real.

Of course, hardly anyone's buying it because he's so bad at lying. He tells too many whoppers about things that are too easily checked.

It's sad, but they might not even really be lies. It's possible he's so delusional that he actually believes everything he reads on the internet that supports his positions.

Another hypothesis - he knows exactly what he's doing. His main ambition to be the ultimate troll. I'd go so far as to say he's trolling the RNC along with everyone else, but the RNC are still too busy trying to ride his coattails to notice.

BTW, I'm only half-kidding. Everything he's done makes more sense, in as much as the word "sense" can apply, in light of this hypothesis.

The reason that the whole "fake news" thing is harmful is simple. Even if the media lies(and it does), that doesn't give any justification to call the media ITSELF "fake news". Only the nuanced parts of the reports can honestly be called 'fake'. When you(as in Trump) are ready to say that the facts the media reports on is accurate, but STILL call them 'fake news' without hesitation, you aren't interested in what's true or not. You have different motives. That statement just spotlights that fact.

What country leader over history has tried this desparately to discredit the media that WASN'T a dictator? I'm not saying our president is one at all, but he's displaying an awful lot of the signs, and just because we elected him in doesn't mean he's automatically disqualified from being one.

Whether Trump has any desire or intent to become a dictator isn't a subject to broach on this thread. However, I work with many immigrants (educated professionals -- full disclosure), no few of whom come from countries with dictatorial regimes. They all agree that the line Trump is using to counter his critics and opponents is a familiar one from the leaders of their home countries: "I am the only one you can trust. Everyone who disagrees with me is a liar and a traitor."

Enough people voted him in due to his platform...so that was the majority of the nation. What ever you may think of him, hes doing what he said he would and the only people who are complaining about it are ether not from the US or are against his platform to begin with. And they are angry because he kept his word and began to fix things towards American values and not socialist. Europe is about to sink, and I cant say a bad word about someone wanting to actually honor his oath to serve protect and defend this country according to its founding documents....so thats where trump stands with me. This is what the Drumf campaign wanted you to believe. What you were supposed to do was vote for the one whose policies you agreed with. Instead, they managed to manipulate millions of people into voting for the guy with almost no concrete policies and a history of self-serving, shady business practices as "the lesser of two evils". The fact that the campaign was won not by having a better plan for the presidency, but by being better at manipulating people's perception of facts, makes it no surprise the situation we ended up with as a result: a team with no plan, constantly trying to manipulate people's perception of the facts. After all, it got them here so it must be the right thing to keep doing yeah?

People keep talking about "I did research and they're both bad!"... well I did research too, and it lead to the conclusion that one candidate was incompetent and prone to deception in the name of self benefit, constantly screwing over less wealthy people to keep themselves afloat, and the other candidate was desperately hated by half of the political spectrum and had a lot of nutjob conspiracies circulating about them that have never been confirmed ( while everything about the other one was confirmed ).

One of the things I find most dismaying is that the campaign in a sense vindicated the very idea of nutjob conspiracies, so now the people who live their lives around them have become louder and crazier than ever.

PS - people need to stop referring to american things as "the best in the world"... it's just getting more embarrasing with time... that guy saying that america has the best health care system in the world nearly made me choke on my breakfast..

Just be careful not to allow arguments like this to make you angry at one another, what ever our leaders do or dont do, we as a people are still the ones who have to get along and live together. In the US right now many are showing their true colors and burning down neighborhoods and businesses over this, out of control, their evil has come to the surface like wild beasts. And people suffer. Ive seen people from both sides making posts on google mocking our leader and each other with irrelevant pics and posters, this doesnt help, nor does it give a good impression to others, it only divides us and creates more anger.

Many of you may even hate me for not agreeing with your standing, but dont let politics do that to you! We are better then that as a people!! We should learn from cats on how to live together...

I know he gets carried away, for the drama and humor of the show. But I trust his news...he tells whats going on, CNN tells a one sided story...the video i shared, there where plenty of people there to ask, but they still needed a scripted employee.

His claims are demonstrably false, particularly as any conspiracy capable of manipulating all available data to the extent he claims would be sufficiently powerful as to no longer need to manipulate data. It's quite silly when analyzed with objective logic.

I do see your reasoning to a certain point, Jones is far right, and ether side that lives for their politics tends to be a bit nutty, like Ashley Judd and her speech about being dirty...followed by wearing those obscene hats. But if your familiar TS videos about current events, most of Jones news I see is given by a man and woman sitting at a news desk, Jones's antics in that other video isnt worth my time, the news given on his show is.

But concerning the guns thing, there has been a lot of fudging with those stories, some are lies. Like videos of this nature:

Yeah sure, Obama's plotting to overthrow Trump and his administration, just like how Trump claims Obama has been wiretapping without evidence to back that claim up, then proceeds to urge Congress into starting a probe into it with the hopes that the commander-in-tweets doesn't come off as a complete loud-mouthed jackass.

And speaking of conspiracy theories, Alex Jones is a conspiracy nut who has made a career out of being a sensationalist, and the convenient thing about sensationalist conspiracy theories is that you don't need to make a lot of effort to try to verify them as actual facts. I mean, we're talking about the guy who hilariously called Obama and Hilary "demons who smell of sulfur". The same guy who accused Obama of using classified weather weapons to create tornadoes with the intent of wiping out populations for political gains. The same guy who compared the Obama administration's intent to maintain net neutrality to modern day Nazism, identical to how Hitler in his heyday wanted "telegraphic neutrality" (what the actual ****?).

The guy doesn't "tell what's going on". The guy tells his version of what he thinks is really going on within his own personal headspace, with an obvious bias towards the left.

...but you have to also take into consideration, that your assessment of opposing news sources also can condemn your own with the same case you spoke of. It comes back to what YOU the viewer choose to believe. So shouting me down or anyone else that you are right and they are wrong isnt proof, its just stomping your foot demanding "im right and your wrong" this is why I trust Wayne Levi to filter through the rubbish.

This isnt about me looking down on you nor forcing you to believe this or that, Im sharing my opinion and what I believe so you know where I come from and dont think im just trying to disagree or make stuff up. Politics doesnt really matter to me, we game together and shouldnt let a different opinion cause us to have anger, nor feel rivalry due to said difference of news outlets. I don't really put people on ignore for anything other than spamming. I can handle seeing what other people type, even if it disagrees with what I think. I think that's an ability that more people could adopt, especially in political environments. I feel that people who feel the need to silence the opinions of others simply don't have much confidence in their own opinions ~.^

I don't really see anyone getting mad. Jenny's quote doesn't really give the impression that she hates you or anything. She's just pointing out some really good facts about the ridiculous statements that Alex Jones has made, as are other people. Might wanna think about why that bothers you so much. As for why it bothers us, it's because people believing that stuff helps get incompetent, corrupt businessmen elected into office.
