Prismatic Color Choices

daisolaardaisolaar Posts: 28 Arc User
I've been getting a ton of pressure from my wife (who plays this game more than me) to make a suggestion on her behalf. In the menu where you can change the colors of powers & equipped auras, we'd like to basically see a rainbow option. Something that makes power or aura fx constantly cycle through all colors instead of just one.

And yes, I know about the rainbow power script; no, that doesn't have the result I'm talking about.

It's an amazing idea but people would probably complain becuase epilepsy..

Honestly, if anyone cared about epilepsy, intense power fx would be downplayed on gigantic bosses.

Power FX on bosses is being looked in to, but unless you're propose to cycle colors very quickly I don't see epilepsy being a concern.

I've kind of wanted a 'rainbow' aura for some of my characters.

If you consider that some power effects, such as Shadow Aura, Dark Transfusion, and Aggressor/Intensity cause parts of your costume colors to turn red or black, I'd like to see an aura that could cause some of your costume colors to slowly and continuously cycle. Possibly even your 4th color slot to make for neat color-shifting glow effects.

A tight set I've always wanted was a rainbow set.

Now I know we only have 4 colors but I wanted the rainbow pattern to be built into the tights. It could be like a chevron pattern le one that loops over the shoulder or down the side.

That'd be much safer and easier than a rainbow aura/other effect. A bit of a demonstration of the principle behind this can be seen just by using gradient patterns on the entire body of a character and carefully picking shades that lead from one hue to the next, like so:

(the face color is done with Leopard pattern.)

As for how it'd be sold, it'd probably end up being called 'gradient tights' or something to that effect, but this is something preview images should totally show off if that ever became a possibility.

Rainbow coloring causing epilepsy? Better remove both rainbow flights from the game due to that...oh wait...its not. Simply put, it is possible, but, I doubt they will do it. But if they do, maybe they could sell it on the c-store.

If MIllenium Flight isn't an epilepsy concern then some rotating rainbow powers is nothing. I like rainbows, I support this wacky idea.

Also I want striped rainbow stockings.

I wouldn't find a toggle or something for gold that made the hue smoothly transition as powers were used.

More auras options are more better, so yes.

I too would love to see a Rainbow Power color option... I need it for Shatter Point so much... hate having her "Gemstone" attacks defaulting to Orange evey time I use one of her Earth Powers due to how I had to write the rainbow script for her (I only wanted her Ice "Gemstone" powers to use rainbow colors, her Earth powers dont look right any color but their default orange)
    ^-^ cute, cuddly, @Pandabutt ^-^

My profile picture sketch has a rainbow background for a reason (Don't worry, it's just cropped here, you're not crazy).

It just turns out that RAINBOWS ARE PRETTY COOOOOOOOL

Uh, so anyway, I support this idea!
[A Place to Post Power Concepts] - I don't update this thing as often as I want to, but it is not abandoned!
[Daily Login Rewards] - They sure would spice things up a bit!
[Monthly Rewards and Silver Players] - Surely there should be some way to get them, no matter how difficult!
[Discussion Concerning Event Powers] - Feel like you're missing out on Holy Water? Uh, probably shouldn't.
[Discussion Concerning Energy Stats] - More or less what it says on the tin, there.
[Analysis of Sorcery Copy-Powers] - I showcase some visual chopjobs, and such.
[Analysis of a Poison Spread Bug] - The different interactions Virulent Propagation and Bite has with all poisons.

This color change can be scripted, there's a post around here about that.

Be bold, have tricolor millennium flight. You can actually do it, Millennium flight has three separate vfx (a full body glow you get when you tap activate it, a set of radiating sparks you get after 10s or on a full charge, and a further set of radiating sparks you get if you spend a certain amount of time moving continually), and each of those vfx uses the color that your flight is set to at the time the effect is first generated.

Unfortunately, not sure how to script it, because if you change all power colors (instead of just the color of your flight) it does change the colors of all three effects.
