Sentinel: Torment (2/2)
Sentinel: Caregiver (3/3)
Sentinel: Sentinel Aura (3/3)
Sentinel: Genesis (2/2)
Sentry: Fortified Gear (3/3)
Sentry: Precise (3/3)
Sentry: Sentry Aura (1/3)
Sentry: Stalling Tactics (3/3)
Mastery: Sentinel Mastery (1/1)

I have tested this out on the PTS in the battle station on its highest settings again all opponents available and it works reasonably well. All my tests have been totally ungeared so just raw stats and powers. I assume it will become more formidable with the addition of Con and perhaps some Pre gear.

Something is blasting me with healing during the fights and I think it might be the Sentinel Mastery. Seeing as how that is the final thing achieved natively by the build, it seems like its having a pretty big effect overall. This build might be a huge pain to level.

The advantages are tight. Not much room for moving things around. If I were to be able to switch to Defiant (a million Con from now) it would free up some advantages and let me bolster the ancillary powers a little more.

I'm not a fan of Mind Blast in this build. It feels like a clunky long charge time for next to no effect. But then its Telepathy and a Presence tanking build so perhaps one should not expect too much.

Lots of challenges but damage is low, not sure how well it will hold aggro.

The TK shield with the CoPD and Invul makes it pretty tough when bunkered and gives me a little casting window. The Shadows mainly funnel health to me. Whirlwind does some damage and will roll for a second of two while I am back in the bunker. No challenge on it though so that's not the greatest. No advantage points for it anyway though.

Telepathy doesn't really have any big hitting powers for peeling open a hard target. But then that's really DPS's job. I just need them to look at me. Still, I wouldn't mind some real damage.

All in all, without testing it on any hard hitting bosses, this seems to be serviceable for alerts right off the shelf, gearing might push it up to even better performance.

What do you think?

Mental Leech's heal can actually be pretty good once its build up, and assuming its hitting you primarily (more likely if ur tanking clsoe to ur targets).

Mental Storm's base dps is so low now I prob wouldn't even prioritize normal ranks of it.

Here's how I'd prob make a TP tank these days:

    Level 14: Compassion
Level 17: Mental Leech (Rank 2, Rank 3, Challenge!)
    Level 20: Mental Storm (Challenge!)
Level 23: Ego Sleep (Plagued by Nightmares)

    Level 29: Resurgence (Rank 2)
Level 32: Ego Surge (Nimble Mind)
Level 35: Telekinetic Shield (Rank 2, Telekinetic Reinforcement)
    Level 38: Rebirth
    Adv. Points: 33/36

    Travel Powers
    Level 6:
    Level 35:

    Specializations
    Constitution: Unyielding (1/2)
    Constitution: Fuel My Fire (2/3)
    Constitution: Resilient (2/2)
    Constitution: Quick Healing (1/3)
    Constitution: Adrenaline Rush (2/2)
    Constitution: Armored (2/2)
    Sentinel: Torment (2/2)
    Sentinel: Caregiver (1/3)
    Sentinel: Sentinel Aura (3/3)
    Sentinel: Wither (2/2)
    Sentinel: Genesis (2/2)
    Guardian: Fortified Gear (3/3)
    Guardian: Ruthless (2/2)
    Guardian: Find the Mark (2/3)
    Guardian: The Best Defense (3/3)
    Mastery: Sentinel Mastery (1/1)

The 1-pt in Quick Healing is just to give more chances for Compassion to proc. Although some stuff can't crit, crit is still nice for Ego Blast and Ego Storm, so it can still be useful here. Sleep, Mental Storm, and Ego Storm can proc Sent Mastery here. Although it has much passive healing avail (more than usual), I put Resurgence in there in case it needs a burst of it. Gears mostly for Con and Pres.

I always wonder at the inclusion of Ego Sleep. While I know what it does, what it does seems to be ridiculously impractical in a pitched battle. And that makes me think that I may be misjudging what it does.

Caaaaasts Ego Sleep - Target is asle.. nope, damage, awake again – Caaaaasts Ego Sleep – nope, more damage – Caaaasts Ego sleep – nope, didn't even nod off that time

I know some attacks will not wake a sleeping target but most will and almost all of your team's vast assortment of AoEs will. Am I missing something about Ego Sleep? Does the sleep part not actually matter? Is there a hidden advantage to Ego Sleep that makes it standard boilerplate for every TP build?

Yes. There's actually two separate effects depending on your setup.

If you want a CC-type build, it's an area hold with lots of duration. This is key for kigatilik dogs and qwyjibo hearts; it doesn't particularly matter in other content.

Alternately, you can take r1 + plagued by nightmares and tap it on bosses. The boss is likely immune to sleep so he won't go to sleep, but what it will do is apply disorient (-10% damage), fear (-10% damage), and trigger hold-related specs. That's not bad for a power that takes 0.67s to apply. It looks like this is why Flow added it to the build.

You tap Sleep cause it procs hold-based debuffs w/o needing to charge (here, Wither and Sent Mastery) and also cause it can put up both Fear and Disorient on tap (even on bosses). You shouldn't be charging it usually. Charging Sleep for AoE CC is more for solo builds that sleep and DoT mobs, or for very niche CC purposes.

Ahh So I am doing it wrong... okay, that makes a little more sense.

I am having a hard time getting those Compassion stacks. On an unrelated note, CoPD will fill up 8 stacks of Compassion right away.

Yeah, Invuln may make getting Compassion stacks in combat a bit harder in places, since it can reduce lesser mob dmg by a lot there's not as much to heal then. Manip can work as an alternative if rotating in Sleep and Mental Storm, and/or using Ego Storm, though that means less bonus heal potential.
