Laser Sword Tank

Hey, I put together a Laser Sword tanking build. I didn't see one that really fit the 'theme' I was going for in flowcyto's Laser Sword stuff, useful as it was to read. I've had pretty good results with it leveling and at initial content at 40, but I wanted to get some feedback on it, see what people more experienced than me thought. Thanks. My main thing is that, for flavor reasons, I would love it if I could find a way to stick Particle Smash in there -- but I'm not sure where it'd go. I'm not married to Rebirth, which currently seems like a freebie power slot for me, but don't have a lot of advantage points for it.

Well, my tank build was Str-based w/ Enrage, just to show off that possibility. But a non-Str approach works well too.

The build looks mostly fine. I'd prob use Wardicator, but Protector is alright. ES/NM would be the better AO for the crit boost, and you don't really have to rank up Rebirth. If you think that you won't need the self-res power, then pickup PSmash, and if you need more adv points you can always change the AD to r1 MD or r2 Resurgence. Meltdown isn't strictly necessary either, but its up to you.

Thanks for the feedback, Flowcyto. Would I be able to get much usage out of Particle Smash's CC with my superstats? Even though I lack Strength, so much of Particle Smash and Lightspeed Strike's damage comes from Plasma Burn that I think it might be more useful to have their KD effects for juggling large groups, as most of my ST damage comes from Lume Slash spam.

Yeah if you want to add Smash's and/or Lightspeed's CC advs for some extra CC then go ahead. I may take the light AoE heal adv on Smash and put the knock effect on the combo, then- assuming ur mostly using Lume Slash for single targets,

For Cosmics, Masterful Dodge is usually better than Unbreakable. Maybe I am wrong, but with all the blocking you will be doing, I think MD, even just rank one, has better damage mitigation. Unbreakable is great if you need to use a power with long activation time that can be interrupted (like a rez power or sniper shot), but I don't think you have any of those.

Yea Unbreakable is better versus smaller hits where the dmg shield mostly (or fully) negates them. MD is better for taking medium to large hits.
