I figured I'd give the cybernetic warrior a try and either I am doing something drastically wrong or this AT is really tough to get started levelling. I died several times just getting through the initial sewer quest for Kodiak. In my defense I haven't played a melee toon before this, so it could be my playstyle.
Ranged PA slotted stuff can be very expensive now. Struggle even w/ most 2 slots at once w/ moderate-level gearing that is fine w/ most other builds. Prob won't be suggesting 3-slot PA w/o also giving R3 CoAP now, and assuming the player has very good gear/stats.
There's a few options to play more defensively while grinding w/ the new AT (though they all come w/ drawbacks elsewhere):
Gear for more Con (fortunately, its SS'd eventually). Get the knock adv on the basic combo (gives up a normal rank), Get the heal adv on Cybernetic Tether (gives up Lightwave Slash). Get Masterful Dodge later on (gives up Elec Sheath). Fully rank the block enhancer (possibly getting the Data Conversion adv if you want more defense while attacking, at the expense of having a dmg penalty). Get the Disorient and Illuminate advs on Particle Wave, or the healing adv on Energy Wave (giving up normal ranks). Get the Light Everlasting adv on Particle Smash, and maybe the stun adv too (both give up normal ranks, and you can't get Plasma Cutter then).
Fully ranking the passive early on helps, since that boosts dmg, but the passive also gives some general dmgRes.
While I'm still dealing with my muscle memory being thrown off, the changes to the Automaton wound up kinda interesting. Energy management feels better, especially once you get going.
