So I'm (potentially) coming back to the game after a year plus away, and I am trying to finish off a character.
And just to loop people back in on my playstyle and design choices: I PvE solo only, I play each character only until they hit 40 and then I shelve them and start a new one, I have plenty of in game currency and CO store currency and don't mind spending either, I tend to being a minimaxer, trying to eke out power and effectiveness where I can, I prefer to be both very survivable and very good at taking down baddies fast.
I’ve come back, as I mentioned, to an older character. I played her for a few levels now, so here is my current build. She is level 35 with a travel power choice, a freeform power choice, and 4 advantage points left to spend. What should I be getting next? I had been looking at Heat Wave, Living Fire, and/or Pyro Blade, but I am open to any good suggestions to reach my goals. Also, is there a second travel power I should take for tactical reasons? I already have tunneling and an Exocet with Speed maxed out.
Thanks.
PS: I wear a full set of Aurum Heirloom gear so I don't have to swap gear as I level, so I get HUGE SS bonuses, and for the XP bonus as well.

Also, I would max Relentless Assault and not skip Aggressive Stance in Vind. You also skipped some good Defense in Force of Will for a small offense boost from gear (Aggression).
Your last few powers can be Firesnake w/ adv, Absorb Heat, a self res, a threat wipe, another AD like Resurgence, a block enhancer, an ally res, nanobot swarm, a CC power (though Pyre's Backdraft can also CC), etc.. You have a few good options avail, but it depends on what things you want to bolster or add to the build.

Used to be coach on the forums. Still @coach in game.
However, since one of the core points of this character is getting crits, I can’t lose my Dex SS. So that leaves EGO/Dex/???. And as you may recall about me, I love me some REC, hate having to use my EB.
Quick Question: Given the powers I have, is Thermal Reverb NOT my best choice of Energy Unlock? For example, my main attacks are Fireball and Conflagration, esp the latter (I often just tap FB for the debuff). My attack chain is often tap FB, Flashfire, Pyre, Conflagration. Given that, would Overdrive be a better EU, or even MSA, or should I stick with Thermal Reverb? Good thought, I will swap my points out of Aggression into FoW. Also in terms of the Avenger tree, I was originally going to take Surprise Attack until I realized that none of my attacks are Single Target! I’ll focus on Relentless Assault now – plus Offensive Expertise. (By the way, my next character will likely be Sorcery based – will that be single-target based?) For the levelling baddies I’m fighting, I haven’t needed even Regen R3! Now that I am getting Regen R3, plus Force of Will, PLUS I can tap my Force Shield and have it up for 8 seconds, I don’t need (I shouldn’t think) any more heals or survivability. You also suggest a block enhancer, and I already have Force Shield – are you advising I get a second one too? Is that even allowed?
With regard to Pyre’s Backdraft – is it worth swapping from R3 to Backdraft? After using Pyre I am thinking that might be good? It doesn’t do a ton of damage anyways, but at least with Backdraft it can keep knocking down baddies, and it refreshes Clinging Flames for more Thermal Reverb – thoughts?
Nanoswarm is an interesting minor effect. Honestly I was hoping there would be some damage power I could take instead (that wasn’t pet based), but it is what it is.
What are your thoughts on:
* Pyromancers Blades (since I usually tunnel under the baddies, pop up and fight) – apparently does good damage?
* Living Fire (to be used the same as Pyro Blades?
Obviously those are pets too (or pet-adjacent) but I could use them more as “bombs”.
OK, I just ran into the Powerhouse to run some tests, at my current level (35):
* Pyro Blades does around 2600 dmg over time to many baddies, 1 sec charge, 20 sec recharge
* Living Fire does from 1950-2500 dmg depending on how many of the five “bombs” are near the baddies.
* Fire Snake only does around 1150 dmg BUT it makes my dmg chain go from around 8k damage to around 13k damage, conservatively (due to the dmg res debuff?). It is also a click and a 20 sec recharge.
Soooo… perhaps I should get Fire Snake (despite my dislike of pets) since it seems to increase the dmg output of my other attacks quite a bit. Perhaps I get Pyro blades at 38?
That would make my current attack chain Tap Fireball – Fire Snake – Flashfire – Tap Pyre – Conflag, and in 3 level I could add Pyro Blades after Fire Snake before Flash Fire – thoughts??
As far as Rec: Thermal Reverb can return very high energy, but I'd still recommend End over Rec if using it. OD won't be quite as good, imo, since it has stricter stipulations for the build here, and OD's energy return starts out low and must be stacked. TReverb just requires you to have CF or a flashfire patch somewhere nearby. Flashfire guarantees CF, so I'd keep that power taken once its unlocked. Keep in mind that taking End SS doesn't mean you can't gear for a bit of Rec on the side.
Firesnake isn't technically a pet- more just a separate entity that you summon and it does its own thing till it dissipates (ofc, following what you target and dmg automatically). From ur end, its pretty much fire and forget. I'd prob put it as the best of the 3 options you listed for Fire.
And yea, if you want to have Pyre cover some AoE CC, go ahead. Ur best dps attack is still Conflag w/ UA up regardless, but ofc that has no CC built in, and its AoE sphere isn't as wide as Pyre's pbAoE.
Also keep in mind that Ego Surge w/ NM won't be that good w/o Con SS'd or geared.
