what a good beast build for a toxic dragon?

hey i am just wondering what is a good beast build for a toxic dragon? currently using the regeneration passive and a good number of beast powers including the toxic breath. mainly i am asking what specialzations should i pick and what advantages would be worth picking over others on the beast tree i am pretty sure i am only going to pick claws, bites, the typical block, energy unlock, venomous breath, and anything else i havent thought of yet. i would need if i want to go full bestial supernatural power set. usually try to stay in hybrid build but will got into tank if need be.

An example of such a build, though w/ Bestial and Infernal being reworked a bit, there's quite a few good options out there now (trust the exported text here over the link's):

    PowerHouse (Link to this build)

    Archetype: Freeform

    Super Stats:
    Level 6: Strength (Primary)
    Level 10: Constitution (Secondary)
    Level 15: Endurance (Secondary)

    Talents:
    Level 1: The Devastator
    Level 6: Physical Conditioning
    Level 9: Boundless Reserves
    Level 12: Bodybuilder
    Level 15: Quick Recovery
    Level 18: Relentless
    Level 21: Amazing Stamina

    Powers:
    Level 1: Infernal Bolts
Level 1: Shred (Rank 2, Penetrating Strikes)
    Level 6: Supernatural Power
    Level 8: Regeneration (Rank 2, Rank 3)
    Level 11: Pounce (Furious Rush)
Level 14: Aspect of the Bestial
Level 17: Venomous Breath (Rank 2, Rank 3)
Level 20: Bite (Furor Venom, Scent of Blood)
    Level 23: Resurgence (Rank 2)
Level 26: Massacre (Blood Mess, Open Wound)
Level 29: Ego Surge (Rank 2, Nimble Mind)
    Level 32: Antagonize (Rank 2)
    Level 35: Rebirth
    Level 38:

    Travel Powers:
    Level 6:
    Level 35:

    Specializations:
    Strength: Swole (2/3)
    Strength: Physical Peak (3/3)
    Strength: Brutality (2/2)
    Strength: Juggernaut (2/3)
    Strength: Overpower (1/3)
    Warden: Fortified Gear (3/3)
    Warden: Ruthless (2/2)
    Warden: Upper Hand (2/3)
    Warden: The Best Defense (3/3)
    Vindicator: Aggressive Stance (2/2)
    Vindicator: Merciless (3/3)
    Vindicator: Focused Strikes (2/3)
    Vindicator: Mass Destruction (3/3)
    Mastery: Strength Mastery (1/1)

Uses Shred to put up Shredded and Bleed, uses Massacre as ur main single target attack, and has Bite mostly for utility (spreading bleed, stuns, and on full charge can consume bleeds to heal you). Venom Breath and/or Shred + Bite's Bleed spread can be used for AoE.

Gears mostly for Str and Con, w/ some Rec/End for Supernatural Power. Last power slot can be w/e.

whats the ego surge for, and the infernal bolts?

Ego Surge is there cause its Nimble Mind adv boosts crit% greatly when combined w/ Con SS- making it the best AO for dps by far.

Infernal Bolts is there cause I prefer ranged end builders if I have the option, though it usually hardly matters as you shouldn't be using the end builder much either way.

No, but having at least one active defense can be helpful if ur in a jam. Resurgence is the most straightforward since its simply a large, instant heal that costs no energy.

Yea, Bestial has a good few ways to be played now, but trying to throw all powers into one build is gonna be wasteful.

I'd recommend making multiple heroes if ya wanna explore other areas of Bestial/Infernal SN.

and whats with building crit severity so high? i dont want to reline on crit so heavily like some other game. poping ego surge just for the crit serverity buff on the nimble mind doesnt seem very good, i rather have a good based damage then count on crits to save me. and rebirth? i am making a dragon not a undead creature. i could just get the advantage on resurgence for any breakthrough. some of the tips was good and thank you for them. have a good time

Firstly- Ego Surge w/ NM boosts crit rate, not crit severity. Its still the best dps AO by far, though you could make selective cases for a few others.

Also, high crit% + high severity happens to be the best general way to build for dps in this game. This is esp since most dps specs still get enough Offense from using Ward/Guardicator specs as is, and Offense has its own diminishing returns. The only other general contender is -resist boosts, but those are harder to come by in CO.

Lastly- There's only 2 powers that self-res in this game: Rebirth or CoRG. If ya don't want them for theme reasons, that's fine, but I didn't include one of them for the theme, but for the functionality.

yeah whoops sorry about that. how much crit rate does nimble mind give?
  • flowcytoflowcyto Posts: 12,858 Arc User
Depends on how much Con you have geared, as it scales off of that. Some quick ref numbers: 130 Con = +21% crit; 240 Con = +33% crit; 385 Con = +48% crit.
