Request: Electric DPS

Back once more asking for assistance. I know they made a bunch of changes recently to several things so any electric DPS builds I will find would/might be out of date. Any current electric builds? I would like to be somewhat survivable and still crank out some serious damage. Also suggestions for gearing would be appreciated. Heroic or Legion most likely. Thanking you in advance.

Elec wasn't changed too much overall; afaik the main playstyle is still in-tact. Main question is if you want to be innately sturdy (Invuln + Hybrid role), or have optimal dps but w/ active defensive (offensive passive + ranged dps role), or just go a more in-between setup w/ AoPM + Hybrid role.

Going w/ the dps approach here.. though the main build doesn't change much either way:

    PowerHouse (Link to this build)

    Archetype: Freeform

    Super Stats:
    Level 6: Ego (Primary)
    Level 10: Constitution (Secondary)
    Level 15: Endurance (Secondary)

    Talents:
    Level 1: The Void
    Level 6: Ascetic
    Level 9: Boundless Reserves
    Level 12: Daredevil
    Level 15: Quick Recovery
    Level 18: Wordly
    Level 21: Amazing Stamina

    Powers:
    Level 1: Electric Bolt
Level 1: Lightning Arc (Rank 2, Rank 3)
Level 6: Electric Form (Rank 2, Rank 3)
    Level 8: Concentration
    Level 11: Ionic Reverberation
    Level 14: Thunderstrike (Rank 2, Rank 3)
    Level 17: Conviction (Rank 2, Rank 3)
Level 20: Lightning Storm (Rank 2, Stolen Thunder)
    Level 23: Resurgence (Rank 2)
Level 26: Force Shield (Rank 2, Force Sheathe)
Level 29: Ego Surge (Nimble Mind)
    Level 32: Gigabolt (Rank 2, Rank 3)
    Level 35:
    Level 38:

    Travel Powers:
    Level 6:
    Level 35:

    Specializations:
    Ego: Force of Will (2/2)
    Ego: Insight (3/3)
    Ego: Follow Through (3/3)
    Ego: Sixth Sense (2/3)
    Guardian: Fortified Gear (3/3)
    Guardian: Ruthless (2/2)
    Guardian: Find the Mark (2/3)
    Guardian: The Best Defense (3/3)
    Vindicator: Aggressive Stance (2/2)
    Vindicator: Merciless (3/3)
    Vindicator: Focused Strikes (3/3)
    Vindicator: Mass Destruction (2/3)
    Mastery: Ego Mastery (1/1)

Last few power slots can be w/e. Ya prob want a threat wipe and/or self-res in there, though.

Gears mostly for Ego and Con, w/ some End for Ionic Reverb. Can also go w/ a Dex-focus and Dex PSS w/ Chilled Form, or w/ an Int-focus w/ Int PSS and Conc.

    Thanks for the response.
Okay so to be innately sturdy as you said, I'd replace electric form with invincible and run in the hybrid role ?

    Yea, pretty much.

Since the changes to how END affects Overdrive more than REC now, would OD provide enough energy if you mostly used the maintains since you have END as a ss??

It seems like they are changing how Ionic Reverb scales. Atm it seems to be evenly scaled w/ End or Rec, but I'm not sure which its going to settle on (PTS says Rec, but I dunno if that's final as that kinda screws over some builds a bit).

Kage's build above is good, though it doesn't strictly need Sparkstorm or TStike. End vs. Rec SS just depends what the PTS changes for Ionic reverb settle on being once/if they hit Live (scaling mostly w/ Rec vs. mostly w/ End, or both).

i mainly use the sparkstorm for nem farming since its untargetable, but do use it for a PBAoE when i get a lot of trash mobs on me

Flow, I play a sorcery-based character of your design (I think) and she runs Regeneration. I find it makes her quite tanky while still putting out great DPS (I nearly always end up taking the aggro on alerts, and am nearly always able to tank it). I'm wondering why I wouldn't take Regen for this build. Or PFF. Why Invulnerability specifically? Thanks in advance.

If you are going the hybrid dps route, then I find Invuln is the most consistent defensive passive for a non-tank, since its reliable (unlike LR) and doesn't take buildup or upkeep (unlike Defiance). Regen or PFF can also work for this- neither are imo as good at Invuln at taking spike dmg, but Regen can provide hands-off healing and PFF can shield ur health from the occasional focus fire or mild inc dmg.
