Questions about TA, Cosmics, Onslaught, etc.

I recently came back after taking several months almost totally off. Some pretty overwhelming changes! Lots of new powers, (mostly) really good changes to existing powers, some good costume stuff, and a new zone coming soon. All very cool! But wow, they really went all-in with The Grind model, huh? That leads to my main questions:

I'd sorely like to scrounge up enough GCR to unlock the powers and pick up some costumes from that store. Don't really care about outfitting my toons in top-end gear, though if GCR proves reasonable enough to obtain, it makes more sense than the frankly appalling grind needed for Heroic gear right now. At any rate, I'm primarily interested in powers/costumes, so it's looking like right now I'll need a couple thousand GCR, at least. So, what's the best way to go about getting it? Sounds like there are only two methods right now--running TA and hunting Cosmics.

I've never gone after a Cosmic in my 6 years here, so I don't know the first thing about that. What I can gather from bits and pieces on the forums is that there are optimal times to go hunting for them. Do I need to bring a team? Do I need to hit a certain amount of DPS to place high enough on a leaderboard, or are the rewards given to everybody who goes after them? Do most people who go after Cosmics go in a specific order (i.e., I'd want to show up at the dino first, etc.)? How much GCR do you get from that, and how much SCR (if any)?

Teleios sounds pretty fun, I read bluhman's excellent guide to hopefully get a decent sense of the fights before going in there, but the same questions apply: I'm assuming I need to find a team? Are there people who regularly run this content? What's the GCR/SCR reward like? How long does this usually take?

Basically, I'm just trying to get a feel for how long I should expect to devote to this, and whether or not enough people even do the content to make it feasible. Any advice or tips for getting those currencies quickly and painlessly would be much appreciated.

Onslaught seems much more straightforward, and I've almost put together enough for that slick half-cape. My only real question there is if there's any way to move faster while you're in SV form. It's quite a PITA spending 30 minutes mostly just jumping around the entire MC map at non-travel-power speed. I know Grond gets a pretty sweet super-jump that's available every ~3 minutes (!), but Medusa's TP seems to be an even-slower teleport that doesn't really help much. Am I missing a sprint button? Is there some way to squirm around the form-changing rules so I can use a vehicle or my actual character's travel powers?

Well, if you read all of this, thanks! Even more advance thanks if you can chime in with any info.

You don't need to bring a team, instead join the public channel Cosmic_HQ and keep an eye out for people saying that a gathering is happening. There is no specific order, we just do whichever one somebody mentions and that we have the required roles for.

There is a minimum threshold for participation to get rewards - you can meet this by healing people, dealing damage, or taking damage in a tank capacity. This threshold is not demanding, and you will meet it by simply participating normally.

Defeating a Cosmic gives you 7 GCR and 12 SCR. In addition you generally get some mods, star refills, and randomly a costume, action figure, or secondary slot gear. There is a daily quest for 5 GCR that you get from some guy named Irwin next to Defender in Rencen - this npc will also teleport you to where the cosmics are.

There are people who regularly run this content ( hi  ) and you will need to find a team; two tanks, two dps, one healer. You can advertise that you are looking for a team in the Cosmic_HQ channel ( tho if a cosmic attempt is happening we ask that you wait until it is over, or at least wait a reasonable amount of time after it has started before advertising for TA ).

TA takes on average about an hour with a group that knows the place. Depending on the team members however it can take much longer than that, or as little as 30 minutes.

The dungeon upon completion gives 7 GCR and 12 SCR. You can run it like three times per day before it stops giving rewards, and there is also a daily that gives 5 additional GCR attainable from an NPC in Until HQ ( I forget his name ) - he will also teleport you to the tower. Each boss also drops healing items, mods, and potentially secondary slot gear, action figures, costume pieces, and onslaught tokens. You also get an average of 15G per run.

I run the place a lot and I like to take new people in there and show them a good time, so if you whisper me in game @foxiandfriends there's a good chance I will throw together a group and we'll go in there.

Note on TA, a pure crowd controller can take the role of the add tank in many cases, it will however be a tougher job.

If you can handle the initial pull, you'll probably be okay with everything else. The hard part is generally rounding up the mobs; once they're rounded up tanking or CCing them isn't going to be too bad.

You need to place higher than 100,000 points to score rewards, but it's not hard to do so. Just bring yourself and hit the Team Up button, up by your mini map, when you get close to the Open Mission. You'll be teamed up automatically with everyone else, and you'll benefit from a buttload of auras.

The most important part of doing cosmics though, is learning the fight. If you're new to the thing, don't just think "I'll just wing it, I'm sure I'll do fine." The cosmic runs can fall apart if even one person messes one thing up. That's not even exaggeration, one person can ruin it for everyone. And most of the time that happens, it's just a new person who didn't ask questions.

Don't be afraid to say "Hey, I'm new, what should I do?" People will be happy to help you out, and relieved that you didn't just go in and mess things up.

Right now, the Teleiosaurus fight is pretty wonky. Success rates for this fight are extremely low, so don't expect to get the daily done every day.

Thanks a lot, everyone. Exactly the kind of information I was looking for. Sounds like the grind for GCR won't be too bad, and I'll learn some new tricks/do some new content along the way. Thanks again; love how we can always count on some of the vets for quick, accurate, helpful answers.

I'll be looking you up, spinny--thanks for the offer!

Yes, and get banned for it if you do it on purpose. So don't get any ideas.
