Adventure Pack order

Having completed most if not all of the regular quests in the game, I now turn my attention to the Adventure Packs and other simillar things, including Serpent Lantern, Demonflame, Resistance, Aftershock, Operation Frankenstein, and so forth. I started with Serpent Lantern, completed it and did Aftershock, but half way through I realized I have done it out of order with Demonflame which came before it. I dropped Aftershock and decided to do things in order.

So I have to ask, all of the Adventure Packs and quest lines at lvl 40, what order do they go in? I've all ready done Serpent Lantern.

I believe the order is Demonflame > Serpent's Lantern > Aftershock if you were trying to get into the story. For the rest of Adventure Packs and Comic Series, they do not appear to have any strong relations with one another, so if you're worried about order, I would say Resistance happens at about the same time Aftershock does, if not before. It doesn't hold any strong ties with the aforementioned Aftershock, but the ending does show some relationship. After that, I would then recommend Whiteout and then Teleios Ascendant (Operation: Frankenstein).

Will warn you about Teleios Ascendant if you haven't done it though, it is a rough instance and isn't actually an Adventure Pack or Comic Series. Anyway, I'm no lore-hound, do with that information what you will. Have fun!

Is Serpent's Lantern related to the demonflame/aftershock arc?

Not much aside from Aftershock taking place in the same location as Serpent's Lantern, pretty much giving way to Aftershock being after it. Aftershock is basically a continuation of Demonflame that begins at the location of Serpent's Lantern after UNTIL's operations successfully foil VIPER. That's what I got out of it, at least.

Aftershock directly references Serpent Lantern NPCs in the beginning. The first chapter of Aftershock is a direct sequel to Serpent Lantern.

I would also note that it is worth doing Teleios Tower and Monster Island Crisis before Teleios Ascdenant. You will have a much better sense of Teleios and what he is trying to accomplish.

Also best to do Destroyer factory before NemCon and Resistance.

Thank you for the information guys. This will help immensely.

Sadly my immersive experience was completely ruined by the criss-crossing, messy nature of quest progression and unclear order in Champions Online, not to mention group content being forced to conclude stories. I couldn't get a group for Teilios Tower in Canada at lvl 30, so I ended up doing it at 40, AFTER I completely cleared Monster Island. I recently went back and soloed Teilios Tower and then went back in time to do the Monster Island crisis. So messy.

It bothers me how there are no linked restrictions on quests and "messenger" quests. For example, I did all of the missions in Canada a month ago, but while clearing Lemuria, I'm told that contacts in Canada need my help. They didn't, so I went to see them and they had nothing for me, because I all ready cleared it. Those messenger quests should be removed as soon as you complete the quest they're supposed to be about.

I also completed the finale of the Westside Gangs story arc before doing all of the middle parts. I completed the Prison Break mission and stopped the Death Dragon before I even put most of the gang bosses in prison. I had no idea why there was a Qular in Prison at the time.

Another example, I cleared all of the Desert, including Menton's prison break, and then I went back to do some of the missions I missed in Millenium City. While concluding the Argent MC quest chain, who do I see? None other than Menton, who brings up his scheme to break out of his prison and turn it into his fortress. The very same scheme I all ready stopped.

What a mess. I hope Cryptic makes some adjustments to questing and what is available and when, as well as providing information on what order things go in at a later date so other new players immersive experience isn't ruined.

One thing I've noticed in this game is that the programmers/writers have issues with conveying information. Information is either not provided or worded poorly.

It used to take longer to level. Missions were harder because heroes weren't as powerful.
    That has an effect, too.

I'm pretty sure it's SL->Demonflame->Aftershock, because that's the order they were published in, but SL and Demonflame have no relation to each other.

The Shadow Destroyer story arc goes something like:
Museum/Factory (Search and Destroyer) -> Lemuria (stuff involving Karkadons) -> VB crisis -> Nemcon -> Resistance.

Edit: got a mission name wrong >.<

    What's Nemcon?

Nemesis Confrontation, the original endgame content. The mission is "Skipping the Rift".

At game launch, the xp system was tuned so you had to run nearly every mission in the game to actually hit level 40. Since then, the awards for missions have been altered a couple times, more missions have been added, and the whole alert system was added, meaning you outlevel things and miss bunches of the main quest lines.

You can still do quests below your level, just don't expect good gains. ;)

As for storyline, the following timeline is how an unoffical CO lore primer covers orders it. From my observation, the major story arcs do seem to go in this order.
    • Year 2009 - Millenium City Crisis (start of the game), Stronghold Breakout, Canadian Crisis.
    • Year 2010 - Vibora Bay Apocalypse, The Serpent Lantern, Demonflame
    • Year 2011 - Resistance, Aftershock, Whiteout
    • Year 2012 - Red Winter, Gravitar Rampage, Nighthawk's storyline, Hi-Pan's Custom Alert, Doctor Destroyer's Return & Sky Carrier Rampage
    • Year 2013 - Bleak Harbinger Rampage, Forum Malvanum Alert, Fatal Err0r story & Alert
    • Year 2014 - FoxbatCon, Steel Crusade

Telios Ascendant and the Nightmare Horror invasion would be Year 2016. Not sure if we had anything specific for Year 2015.

Specifically on the subject of Aftershock, I believe it's a sequal to both Serpent Lantern and Demonflame simultaneously. The events of both those previous adventure packs lead into the events of Aftershock.
