Character Slot Not Appearing

masterproteusmasterproteus Posts: 19 Arc User
I recently decided to get back into the game and thought I'd buy a bunch of Zen to get me started again. I bought the Impulse and Inventor archetypes, some Hideouts and an extra character slot, but alas the Character Slot does not appear on the select screen nor do I get an item in my inventory. I've tried sending tickets in-game but the game won't track my tickets, the list appears blank even though it said they were sent.

So I will bring this up here. Did I miss another step I had to take to activate the extra Character Slot? If the slot/item is indeed missing, either add one to my inventory or refund my 750 Zen.

Tickets not tracking, no e-mail responses, no response in-game, no response on forums, still no Character Slot. How supremely disappointing, this isn't a very nice return to the game for me.

There are no customer service people on the forums. Mostly just players and a handful of forum moderators. Customer service is all but absent over the weekend.. they'll probably get back to you on Monday. You could try filing a GM request while in game.. but I've had mixed results with that. *shrugs*

Thank you for the information, though I did say in the OP that I had attempted to contact them in-game but to no avail. The game doesn't even seem to register my tickets even though it says they were successfully sent.

According to support, my downgraded from Gold to Silver characters count towards the slots. I had three characters, all of which were Gold, then I downgraded them to Silver. They said that the base number of character slots is 2, and that my third Silver downgrade character occupies the new character slot and I'd have to delete the character to get the slot.

That's incredibly shady, unscrupulous and deceitful. Why does this game treat returning players who bought the base game so badly? It's frightening.

It is not shady, unscrupulous or deceitful, at worst it is simply unclearly written in the subscription agreement/benefits.

You paid for a service (subscription - one of the benefits of which was additional free character slots over and above the standard 2) then you stopped paying. Expecting to continue to receive a paid benefit for free is disingenuous. I think it is pretty good of them not to simply lock out the slots which are free with subscription and not being paid for (I know some games which did this if you stopped subscribing) and allow you to continue using it.

Again, why does this game treat people who bought the base game so badly? All of the other MMO's I've played which were subscription based and then went free to play give you some kind of reward or recognition for actually spending money on buying the original game. Don't feed me the "to make money" thing, I'm still buying Zen for other unlocks.
