staying within one power

It would be cool to have a special power if you don't stray from a power set. Like if you picked Fire and no other power from any other set that a special power would be given as a selection. If you pick any powers outside of that set, the special power would be removed or greyed out. The power would need to be very unique and take advantage of that power set's full potential.

That used to be ultimates (which used to require 10 powers in a powerset). Pretty much none of them got played with, so they changed it.

Becuase people like to mix sets to make unique themes.

Also because a lot of sets have major gaps if you don't go outside the set.

If there was a special advantage for staying within the set only, even with complete and whole powersets with every mechanic in them, it would be a bad thing as creative builds and themes would be discouraged.
I am not disagreeing at all. I think more should be done to encourage cross-framework play (like unlocking EUs from specific frameworks).

But OP, if you want your specific advantage to staying in-framework now? Energy Unlocks.

I am just thinking about screwy the framework is when I compare it to learning skills in real life. Usually to become a master you have to spend a lot of time working on one skill or maybe one or two skills which are similar or connected to the primary. Such as if you were working on Fire there might be a connected with Wind or Tech. I feel that you should be rewarded for focusing on one skill set.

Which goes way back to the start of this game where I was told by certain devs that there would be a weakness to characters. Some might be strong in Fire but have a weakness against Water or Mental abilities. This would be the checks and balances. If you would focus only on Fire then you would have a weakness elsewhere.
