Batman V Superman comes out Friday. Make the Night Avenger free this weekend(hell, next week) and get free advertising on the MMO news sites. And don't forget to put the Nighthawk costume and vehicle on sale. I'm not sure if there is anything Superman related...I can't think of it at the moment but if anyone has any ideas share them.

The synergy between eye beams and might is, well... nonexistent. Ignoring that, here's a first pass (it's a bad build, but what can you expect?)

Hm. Defender might be superman-esque in terms of personality, but not in terms of powers.

They should probably do Foxbat vs Nighthawk, since they're both different variants of Bat-inspired.

Superman doesn't need his heat vision to have synergy. It's an "occasional/special use" power, not one he uses all the time.

I merely added Fire Strike (I think) to emanate from Decorum's eyes and I was good to go.

please see current discussion on PTS, regarding Devastator. Apparently, it's awful now because someone can't use their preferred attack combination as easily.
works perfectly ok with the combination i use.

I think it's fine to have an off-synergy power in a toon that fulfills a role. Sometimes it is simply useful to have a 100' attack on a melee toon. Maybe to draw threat, maybe to get mobs to move, maybe because you can't or don't want to move in yourself.

Meh, with tanks I don't see synergy as a huge concern. Defensive passive don't generally buff specific damage types. Its more about utility for tanks.

That being said, if you use a fire attack that stacks CF with an Ice attack that stacks chill, you've got 90% of a Rime fire build. Supernova anyone?

Now I wanna see a 5 man squad take down a smash alert using nothing but eyebeams. I feel like there needs to be a video, it could be something really simple like Soul Siphon. I know this has nothing to do with that silly S word people keep tossing around(it's one of those made up marketing buzzwords that I find mildly irritating for no tangible reason in particular)...but It would be glorious.

(Starring: Staredown, Peekaboo, Eyebeamer, Opticallus, and The Glare.)

Also yeah sure, what the op said about giving out NAs as a freebie for the latest movie thing...or at least put them on sale for half off or something.

I'll be honest: when there is some Champs news that excites me, like new content or them giving something away free, I will tip the news sites and it usually gets reported. And of course, that is free advertising for Champs. But a sale is just...business. If someone else wants to tip off some sites go for it, but I'm going to pass this time.

I always wanted Eye Beams to have a 2 point advantage that makes its a toggle like Sparkstorm.

Maybe we can get that when Power Armor and Electricity gets a pass. (Both at the same time because of particle/electric synergy.)

But finding an efficient synergy between Eye Beams and Might is a futile effort.

It's something you do for the theme only if you have a power slot to spare.

I totally did it on a one character, but that was purely for look.

Makes me think, though...

... if Eye Beams had enabled choices for Crippling Challenge and/or Challenging Strikes it could be a good taunt power for Power Armor builds as well.

And doesn't matter anyways. Archetypes don't need to follow the "Strict Rules of Synergy"... that's just the Free Form min-maxers remember?

I think the real issue would be how to make the archetype different enough from the Behemoth to not look like a straight clone( lol wtf they made a Behemoth with eye beams? ). Could make it a brawler with Unstoppable, replace Defensive Combo with Beatdown, give it frost breath... only problem there is that then people come looking for super tough Man O' Steel Supermenz, and instead end up with Man O' Clay.

Could build it as a hybrid role tank with Protector specs.

The niche of an unspecialised melee Hybrid that can be either a secondary tank or a melee DPS is already covered by the Savage.

Buuut then people would complain that it isn't indestructible enough, anyway.

What sort of situation was this in tho? Were they holding damage off of heavy dps, or was this like a random grab alert?
