NO, find all their accounts on all the PWE games and wipe the lot.

What is Cryptic doing? Hoping they will just get bored and stop? This is ridiculous. Surely something can be done to stop something that is happening so regularly? Will it take loads of people just giving up and leaving? Then this attacker has won.

The Cryptic Website itself is having problems. My launcher had no news and used a Defender vs. Destroyer splash screen from years ago . . .

Like what? No seriously, the world is all ears if you have a solution, because right now everyone is trying to think of one. DDOSers are currently a plague without a cure, and spreading that plague is something that any bored emo kid with an internet connection can do.

Get used to it, this problem is only gonna get worse before it gets better. We're likely at some point to see months of constant disruptions in every corner of the internet, the likes of which would normally only happen in some Ghost In The Shell story arc. These punks are literally trying to kill the internet ( and in most cases they don't even realize that that's what they're actually doing ).

The only funny part is that some of them think they're gaining notoriety... but of course, they're all afraid to show their face.

I have to come up with a solution? How on earth is that fair? I am a client. My solution will be to leave and stop giving Cryptic my money. This is not what I do for a living. Someone who does needs to come up with a solution.

Well, you said "surely something can be done"... as it turns out there were a few words there that didn't mean what you thought they meant.

Threatening Cryptic with "leaving" and "no more money!" won't solve anything either. You think if you threaten them hard enough they'll use the ez solution that they just haven't been using just because? Srsly?

    Think.

I am sure Cryptic has been working round the clock on this, because every minute the server isn't online is potential revenue lost. And just imagine how much is being lost on overtime as people try to fix this issue.

LOL my previous post was removed! I see they are still cruising the forums looking for any criticism and deleting it! If they put even half the energy and effort into finding the DDoS'er as they do in censoring threads and quieting dissension, they'd have the guy in handcuffs by tomorrow lol.

There's plenty of posts criticizing this issue, I'm removing yours in particular because you're baiting people into arguments by accusing Cryptic of acting in a certain manner that you couldn't possibly know about. Keep in mind that I'm not affiliated with Cryptic, so it's not "Cryptic cruising the forums looking for criticism."

If you keep posting the same way, expect those posts to disappear the same way.

If you're "not affiliated with Cryptic", then what do you care about how we're "accusing Cryptic of acting"? And if people decide to get into arguments over it, then guess what, "biff"? They will STILL get into arguments about it without "baiting". No, I don't know how Cryptic is acting, but it is pretty d*mn clear what they aren't doing, and that's anything smart or constructive to douse the perpetual attacks on their server.

By the way, you should be in politics. You'd fit right in with those trying to deflect attention from Hillary's criminal offenses. Or maybe in Oz where you could claim there's nothing to see behind the curtain. :)

Arc Defender lies when it says it's "detected a new computer". It's a plain, simple two-factor authentication scheme that engages on every login, and I really wish PWE would promote it that way.

Quite the opposite. If Cryptic were to go looking on these forums for evidence of what's happening, do you want them to find posts with relevant information, or pages upon pages of pointless bickering and finger-pointing?

I personally don't care what people think of Cryptic, but if a certain opinion is going to completely derail a thread, especially an opinion backed up by false assumptions, something that's sure to bait people into an argument, which it clearly did, then I tend to delete those posts, regardless of how favorable or not the opinion is.

I also love the fact that Cryptic is expected to hunt down the attacker when DDoS involves exploiting compromised infected PCs to perform the attack aka botnets. It's really left to their ISP to pursue the matter also if the relevant parties are able to track down the attacker.

Cryptic, however, is especially notorious for deleting posts and closing threads for even the slightest criticism, even among game companies. If you think it is bad here, you should see how often they do it over on the NW forums. The "pointless bickering and finger pointing" IS relevant feedback when taken as symptomatic of the underlying dissatisfaction with Cryptic's response to the ongoing problems with the server...and they should take it seriously. We shouldn't have to be providing the solutions to their problems, too.

The one thing I will give Biff is that at least he is not condescending, which is more than I can say for a few of the other moderators.

I've damn near burned the CO forums to the ground on more than one occasion, but I've never had any criticism of Cryptic or PWE deleted. Maybe it's because I've never once insisted that circumstances beyond their control were their own fault, then demanded that they snap their fingers and fix a problem that devoted experts around the world have failed to solve.

As I said, just hop on over to the NWO forums and see for yourself. Oh that's right, you wouldn't be able to see what was stripped unless you'd been following the conversations in the first place...but it was pretty brutal. Entire threads closed, yanked, and tossed in "The Abyss". The censorship has actually slacked off recently compared to a few months ago. I guess Cryptic is losing steam in trying to keep up.

--and you completely missed the point of what you were responding to here. jenny didn't even type the word "impossible".--

It was implied, more than once, on this and related threads. And...if it IS possible, then they should do it!

--do you even read what you're responding to anymore?--

Nope. Do you ever get tired of being a Cryptic apologist and kissing your pal Jenny's a$$...? :D

As I said, just hop on over to the NWO forums and see for yourself. Oh that's right, you wouldn't be able to see what was stripped unless you'd been following the conversations in the first place...but it was pretty brutal. The censorship has actually slacked off recently compared to a few months ago..I guess Cryptic is losing steam in trying to keep up.

Try to stick to CO. I couldn't give a rat's **** what happens on NW forums. If you want to make a case on notorious moderation on these forums then please try it.

And good luck on that. The mods are really easy-going here.

Oh that's convenient. We can't see what's been removed because it's gone, so you could claim there's like a billion different threads that have been removed! Why, you could even claim that they kidnapped your sister and erased all records of her existence because no evidence of their existence is evidence that their existence has been erased! Woah man, it's fill of stars!

Nope. Do you ever get tired of being a Cryptic apologist and kissing your pal Jenny's a$$...? :D

Oh, do the people who make the video games that you play have something to apologize to you for?
