Alright I'm condensing everything from the last thread - now that I have a better grasp of costuming I won't have to constantly post works in progress and that sort. So here's the original 23!
Aquanaut - An expert swordsman, scuba diver, and marine biologist, Aquanaut doesn't shy away from the fact that money is a primary motivator for what he does; he has many endorsements and is sponsored by a fishing company called Nautical Horizon.
El Vaquero Tecnologico - An honest cop from the tough streets of Mexico City, El Vaquero was chosen to pilot the Federales' latest project - a light suit of power armor. Customizing it to suit his taste in Westerns, Vaquero combats all manner of threats in his native country.
Ratscallion - A manimal cyborg from South Africa, Ratscallion is a foul, unhealthy lab experiment who blew the whistle on his own employers who transformed him, and now more or less exists as a vagrant hero.
Frobot MK. 2 - Built by a scientist in the 70's, Frobot has been patrolling the streets of New York City ever since. Despite being an old model, he continues to kick **** and keep the streets clean, and looking good doing it.
Fulminis III - The latest in a blue blooded Boston family, Fulminis was an ordinary computer scientist until a fateful transformation gave him the power to channel electricity straight from the grid of Babylon, the mystical realm of modern times, the third in a line of heroes to do so. Friends say it hasn't improved his snobby attitude much.
Luciano Calighieri - Luciano is a warlock and member of the Scarlet of the Circle Moon, who has taken the reigns of his near-extinct Chicago crime family and reworked them into a sinister magically-inclined criminal group called Malebranch. He also moonlights as a lawyer specializing in contacts, handy for dealing with demons and devils.
Dr. Smolder - Angry, aggressive and highly bigoted, the Frenchman known as Dr. Smolder likes three things: burning things, hating mutants, and big pies. He runs a group of cleaners who offer their services to rogue scientists and supervillains to wipe up their messes, to fund his homicidal rampages against the deformed and the downtrodden.
Lobotomatron - Preferring to stay out of the spotlight, unlike many supervillains, the seemingly immortal psychic known as Lobotomatron is much like a vampire, feeding on negative mental energy brought by sorrow and pain - even if she inflicts these herself. Strict and calculating, she is determined to outlive everyone else and satisfy her cravings.
Shadow Play/
Shadow 2 - A performance artist with a particular affinity for shadow puppet theater, Shadow Play was granted the power to bring shadows to life using dark energy by none other than Teleios, the Perfect Man, who had caught one of her performances and thought it amusing. Fortunately for everyone, she remains on the side of good.
Clobberstone - Once a particularly ornate grotesque built to scare off intruders in an English castle, Clobberstone was granted life and sentience by a foreign mage who made the castle her base, though kept the monster under control. Upon her defeat and the freeing of his mind by local heroes, Clobberstone decided to travel the world and experience life to the fullest.
Cerebrawl - Cerebrawl always loved to fight, which brought her to the world of mixed martial arts, where she made a decent living. Her telekinetic powers manifested as a teen, and she enjoyed special superhuman tournaments where she could unleash them in the form of hard hitting TK fists. After an encounter with Mathias the Magnificent, she fights crime for more interesting fights.
Corporal Punishment - A gun toting vigilante, Corporal Punishment was once a Department 17 candidate for genetic experimentation to make him a super soldier, one of many. However, something went wrong in his particular process, leaving him with the inability to feel pain and his other senses doomed to follow. Gradually his sanity slipped and he went AWOL, becoming a killer against the criminal underworld.
Web Crawler - A representative of a species of arachnid aliens known for their highly prized skill with silk, producing high quality clothing lines and armor. Not the brightest bulb, Web was bombarded by Kelvarite radiation from a meteorite he found, thinking the pretty rock would look good at home. Granted super strength and leaping ability, he was sent by his government to be a diplomat for their species on Earth - and to get out of their hair.
Mathias the Magnificent - Once a teen hero turned magician tv star in the 80's, Mathias fell on hard times after the show's cancellation, spiralling into drugs, alcohol and overeating. After nearly a decade of rehab and community service, he has once more put on the old outfit to redeem himself by fighting criminal psychics, alongside his new partner Cerebrawl.
Danse Macabre - Before his untimely death, Danse was a hero in the 1930's named Blue Vigil, patrolling the nights of Vibora Bay. His hotheadedness made him run afoul of one too many criminals, however, and he was brutally slain and his body thrown into the swamp. A mysterious force slowed his degradation and later revived him in the modern age as a revenant, where he continues to protect the citizens.
Robo Hood - A Russian archery prodigy, Robo Hood used her skills to raise money for her biotechnical degree. Fascinated by cybernetics and transhumanism, a near fatal accident led her to heavily augment herself. She continues to modify her body by raising money through mercenary work, though she has a strict above-the-table policy.
Smokeout/
Smokeout 2 - Smokeout was once a janitor at a waste disposal facility in New Mexico, when an explosion erased his physical body and turned him into a being made of concentrated smoke and smog. His life more or less ruined, the shy and reserved Smokeout seeks to find out what really happened that day.
The Mindsmith
/
Mindsmith 2 - Growing up in the ghettos of Baltimore was tough, especially for a manifesting psychic. Mindsmith easily fell for PSI's propaganda, having established themselves in the city. He served to forge emphatic weaponry for their agents, believing PSI was working for the greater good. But he became jaded to the cause over time and betrayed them, now working to atone in service to the government.
Sandy Stone - An archaeologist and adventurer, Sandy Stone (she has a bad sense of humor) prefers her real job to superheroics, despite the fact she can manipulate the earth. But if a villain threatens to destroy a precious dig site or wants to steal priceless artifacts, Sandy will be sure to make them think twice.
Big Top Hat - Big Top Hat has been a circus showman for decades, ever since he joined one at a young age. Now an experienced ringmaster, he is also secretly an accomplished sorceror, and often uses magic in his acts to thrill audiences. If a mystical threat looms, however, you can be sure he'll take up the fight, delighting allies and enemies alike with his showmanship.
Catalyst - A brilliant chemist from India, Catalyst was so obsessed with his craft that he experimented on himself, gaining the power to produce and manipulate toxic chemicals in the process. Though not evil or insane, he is aloof and has little patience for others, and is primarily motivated by his own research goals than altruistics.
Reverb - A Nigerian humanitarian worker, Reverb was kidnapped by terrorists during an ambush. Said terrorists had access to Hzeel biomatter, which they hoped to use on her alongside a mind control device to turn her into their own living weapon. Unfortunately for them, she was not going to stand for it, and after the cochlear implants granted her the power to manipulate sound waves, demolished the terrorists and freed herself. Now she works for UNTIL as an anti-terrorist unit.
Yarg Lasburn - Yarg is a member of an elite order of knights from an arid desert planet, whose modern society retains their knights as an elite commando unit. Yarg took the ideals of honor, courage and temperance to heart, and proved himself a capable warrior. He was put on the princess' bodyguard detail, though a sudden attack by an enemy race during an Earth trip almost ended that. Assisted by local heroes in protecting his charge, the grateful Yarg chose to become an ambassador to Earth.

EMTrooper - Nigel Finnegan, aka the EMTrooper, is a dedicated paramedic from an alternate dimension where nanotechnology developed to the point where it became a valuable tool for healing. As a result, medics equipped with this technology are highly regarded and the populace engage in more risky behavior, something Finnegan was never happy about. He makes forays into this universe out of a simple desire to help others - and perhaps flex his professional pride.
A freeform celestial, inspired by zamuelpwe's combat medic design in the 'a costume a day' thread here towards the bottom as well as all those guys that use red and blue bits to simulate emergency lights.
Komodo Hardball - In the grim future of 2004, a war-worn Earth struggles to survive against a united Communist cyborg force, bloodthirsty warlords, and renegade mutants. The last bastion of true democracy, the United Forces of Northmerica, has one man to clean up the mess: KOMODO HARDBALL. Actually from a different timeline, this super cyborg spec ops agent has found his way to this world and brings his gritty, catch-phrase spouting ways to MC.
80's scifi action hero inspired by Far Cry: Blood Dragon. Uses gadgeteering powers for DPS, mainly the laser stuff.
Crypsis - A professional killer hailing from India, codename Crypsis, and has the power to turn invisible. Crypsis is a member of a guild of assassin's and works to prove herself on the Bounty Boards, pursuing targets with rigid professionalism that belies a certain bloodlust. A botched job led to her face becoming heavily disfigured, but it has not slowed her down.
Going more low tech than the previous few characters, Crypsis is partially an homage to the villain Curare from Batman Beyond. I'm still trying color combinations out; in this case, red and purple to Komodo's blue and green.
Now that is as excellent costume mate. It's reeeeeeeally well done.
The only thing that I would possibly change is the colour of the main part of the belt......but, hell, as I said it's an excellent look

Columbia - Chosen by the same-named national personification (who resided in the realm of Babylon) to be her champion, politically active Marie Johnson does her best to embody the romantic ideals of America, even among numerous other patriotic themed heroes. Wielding nothing but a powerful sword bestowed on her, she prefers using words and ideas to battle first, and violence only when needed.
Hard to hash out a quick backstory sometimes. Anyway, I based this one off the US's old national personification, Columbia, who ended up with a bit of Wonder Woman in there with the bracers. The sword is an obvious choice, but no good striped skirt options, so the outfit is more battle ready. I do wish we had her iconic liberty cap, though. Or a gun boat hat.
Here's him posing with a fan from way back...
...and here is his current iteration. The kanji on his head for 'courage' was the last touch, alluding to his Japanese heritage. Too bad it looks kind of bad zoomed out.
I just now saw this and I'm pretty honored by it. Looks good.

Gradient Man
A horrible fusion of two elemental beings, Gradient Man is an experiment gone wrong. Mentally unstable and dangerous to friend and foe, the newly formed being harnesses the power of fire and ice to destructive effect. The insane vagabond has made appearances in all sorts of places, leaving one wondering as to his intentions and allegiance.
Mitra
Built by ArdaCorp, Mitra is a unit designed for the application of lasers for mining and utility purposes. Recently it has been repurposed for combat.
Gradient is a concept from the old thread given an update. I'm proud of the torn shorts and rope belt combo. Mitra was developed with help from a friend of mine in game, and his bio is forthcoming.
Taking a few months off from Champions, stay frosty folks.
@Sersaywastaken
Corporal Punishment has new pants, namely the Trey Kings pants to complete the gimp look. Since the cut off pant leg looked weird I covered it up with some asymmetrical boots. Also made him primarily black to further get the leather daddy image out there.
Ratscallion is no longer a cyborg but full on organic horror! I went for a much simpler design on him, with the same asymmetrical shoulder pad plus chest harness, some shackle bracers to represent him being an escaped lab experiment, and not much else.
Reverb is also made simpler, white and black with orange highlights. I've never done white metal before so this was a welcome experiment.
I was having trouble with the old Cerebrawl's build and image so I combined her name with Mindsmith and made something new. Cerebrawl also still uses the aura armor trick as seen here. He keeps some psi parts to make his silhouette stand out a bit more. The old Cerebrawl will be coming up in a future concept.

Ol' ice gangster Luciano now uses the skeleton torso to layer the fantasy cape option over his suit jacket. To cover up most of the skeleton bits showing I used the steelhawk logo, the tie and the high collar to distract the eye from the remaining section showing, though I've yet to find a workaround for the rest.
Robo Hood now uses the Mechanon Minion head, and the Pharaoh's cybernetic arm to look sleeker and more high tech (she finally bought some upgrades with that merc money). I also made all her metal texture pieces into leather for a matte look, something I've tried to do with my other characters that previously used the metal texture.
Funk: A manimal recently escaped from Monster Island, Funk was always an outcast even among his peers - now on his own, he fights evil away from the staring eyes of the public with his rather unique natural 'weapon'.
Replacing Ratscallion, Infernal DPS. Making use of the layered hairstyles and squirrel tail.
Chaneque: An ancient robot built by an Empyrean engineer and artist as a gift to an ancient Aztec king; the Aztecs may have faded but Chaneque is still going strong.
Power Armor tank, mostly rockets.
Here Fulminis opts for a partial mask so his plebeian foes can witness his superiority without obscuration.
Newly renamed 'The Vigil', sporting new spats, pants and gloves that further conceal his undead nature, plus new gun holsters and belt.
Komodo is now 'SonuvaG.U.N.'; the acronym's meaning is mysterious. New hair, chest piece and boots, to make him more of a blend of 80's action hero and 90's dark age of comics anti hero.
Strizh - A Russian martial arts prodigy who was trained in kung fu and systema, her master a student of the masters in the mystical Shambala. Basically, a remade Robo Hood.
Big Top, aka now female version of my circus ringmaster sorceror. Also where I started to get too bored to pose. Maybe a more action packed screenshot later.
Cocytus - Luciano's super villain alter ego, given a much more mystical feel and that touch of supervillain grandiosity. Makes use of the ice material for the rock parts to further show his corruption by the ice from the innermost circle of Hell.
