So the Life Time Subscription sale is upon us once more. Would you buy it?

Once again the hefty price of a Life Time Subscription(LTS) has been dropped. It would cost approximately 201 USD to purchase. So, here's my question to anyone: Would you buy it?

I'm on the fence right now. On one hand I've played off and on since the game first came out. I likely should've bought it waaaay long ago, but I hadn't had the funds because obviously saving is for dummies. Then I started saving, now I have enough, and want to get it. On the other hand, is it really worth it to drop 200 on a game that I've played in almost every conceivable way even if I come back to it?

I suppose my hesitation stems from not knowing if the devs are going to add things worth playing, and I'd just be paying 200 dollars to infinitely play what I've been playing since On Alert came out. With the changes to the costume editor and the like, I'd like to think that improvements are on the way.

So, again, would you buy it?

I really love the game. It's an MMO I always return to after whatever the latest video game hotness has lost it's appeal. That said, having been playing other MMOs lately I can see it's starting to age mechanics-wise. On the other hand, If it makes money I don't see the owners ever just deciding to discontinue it willy-nilly. I went lifetime a few years ago and I really don't regret it. I don't have to worry about logging in to get items or remembering subscriptions. I know all my loot will be there for a few more years at least. Plus there's a monthly stipend of Zen which accumulates even if you don't log in. But I wouldn't buy it thinking there's going to be massive development on it anytime soon, just monthly updates. So I'd say yes, but not if you're living paycheck to paycheck or are a college student or something and only if you love the game.

I honestly think it depends on your play style, I like making characters, and so for me it was a good investment and I'd do it again. For someone else who only plays one or two characters getting free form slots might be a better investment.

Depends if you make tons of alts or just make one character.

If you enjoy alting, or love making lots and lots of costumes, go for it. I paid full price for mine, and haven't regretted it for a moment.

On the other hand, if you only want to play one character at a time, are okay with buying all the costume packs at your own expense (I generally save up my stipend for them), and don't care about recoloring your powers, a Freeform Silver slot is only $50, and might be more to your liking.

Either way, while the game is perfectly playable with an AT, Freeforms can be so much more fun.

    PVP is starving without rewards

    1. Please give us Daily PVP missions that reward Questionite.
    2. Please give us an exchange rate between Acclaim and Recognition so that PVP has access to all "On Alert" PVE rewards.

If I had $200 sitting around doing nothing, I would buy LTS. Even today.

They just hired a new dev. In fact, the devs for this game seem to be much more present and active in the community than has happened in years. I know the game industry is full of garbage leadership, but I don't see PW wasting their money on a game that's going in the dumpster soon. No idea if they have big plans for this game or not, but I don't see it shutting down for awhile either.

    I believe so:
It usually is like this(atleast, imo.); 1.) Get a LTS or 2.) Be a silver
Buffing everything to stupid high levels and nerfing everything to piss poor levels yields the same results, but not the same community reactions.

If you plan to play CO for a long time and enjoy the freedom of FF, then yes. If you only play a little bit and don't care about the FF, then you'll have to decide if the cost is worth it.

If i had money now? Absolutely. Playing the game seriously again after so long has given me a reason to stay and play the game for real.

Only Buy an LTS if you want to stay and want to have Freeform and make lots of different heroes. If you like doing that then you can get a LTS, If you do your also helping them get money.

I bought the full price because awhile it was nice to buy it at a Discount I rather pay it in full because I care about supporting and due to the issue we are in they are gonna need a lot of money to get things going. I mean if we looked at the Developers Point of View they are just people and they work and they need money to feed there families and if they are not doing a good job they get a pink slip and they lose there job that means no money getting payed to buy food and pay bills they have to find a different job. I had personally interacted and befriended a Developer before long time ago (Not Cryptic of course) so I got a little different view now that I'm seeing a bit of there side of the story.

Anyways, It's up to you, What you want most.

I, as well. The likelihood of me ever having $200 sitting around and doing nothing, however, is slim approaching none. :(

If I didn't have one already, I'd still do it.

But what if I could have the opportunity to buy it for someone else?
