Help with my Wind/lightning build

So I'm trying to put together a wind and lightning build. Mostly for solo play so no specific role in mind, just a general jack-of-all-stats.

This is what I've got so far but I've got this nagging feeling I've done something wrong somewhere.

EDIT: Maybe I should clarify where I'm coming from. I haven't been all that active in this game so I've mostly modified other peoples builds. This is my first stab at building something myself from the ground up. I feel like the power choices are pretty good, what I'm looking for advice on is more in terms of specs and stats.

    Build is mostly okay thus far. I'd prob trade Sparkstorm for Hurricane w/ Perfect Storm, and use Guardicator for the specs (though Avenger + Vind could also work w/ the maintains).

    Thank you. Yes, I've considered guardicator as well. Only problem is that I've already used it on other characters before so I wanted to try something different. Although I suppose the spec trees doesn't change gamplay all that much.

    If ur using Avenger for Relentless Assault (and variety), then I'd recommend pairing it w/ Vindicator instead, since the Offense from RA feeds into Aggressive Stance (similar to how The Best Defense does).

    Interesting. I picked Guardian for the Locus buff, but Agressive Stance fed by Relentless Assault seems more reliable. It also has Mass Destruction which seems like a good option since the build mostly relies on the AOEs (ball lightning, typhoon, hurricane).

    Ball of Lightning can't crit, last I checked.. though that's kinda a minor thing as its mostly gonna be used for Negative Ions and Ionic Reverb.

    That seems to be correct. But yes, typhoon and Hurricane are the ones intended for damage, ball lightning is mostly there to feed ionic reverb.
    Looking at the version you posted, masterful dodge stands out a bit. The build isn't particularly dodge/avoidance oriented otherwise aside from general defence value. Care to explain that choice?

    MD puts you well past 100% dodge even at rank 1. When its up, everything is a guaranteed dodge, and at about 55% or so avoidance. So ya dodge everything at ~half or more of its base value, then Defense/DmgRes comes in to further shave the dmg down after that. Unbreakable is a fine alternative for most things, but is better when ranked (whereas MD is best left at R1).

    I see. Wow, I'm learning things here. I didn't think a single ability did that much difference in terms of dodge chance.

    Yeah, its why many higher end buidls stick it in- its one of the best active defenses that can be left at R1. Granted, longer cds like any AD aren't as good anymore, due to much lower total uptime, but as a burst of mitigation for 'oh ****' moments, its still good.

    Just another though since I haven't gotten around to build this character yet. How would it perform if I changed the primary superstat to Endurance? That spec tree seems like it could be useful for this build as well, especially for hardened to get a bit more survivability.

    I'd first test the build in decent gear at max level to see if ya still have energy issues w/ the current SS setup then. If ya still do, then yea End PSS can work, though if ya dun actually need the extra energy then I would stick w/ Int PSS for the higher dps potential. End PSS could be a bit better for energy management when low-level, though.

    Ok. I'll try it out on the PTS. I figured the offense boosts in the END tree would help out with the damage. But I'll try it to see which is better, and just how energy hungry typhoon is.
    Man, I kinda love just how intricate this system is. There's so many options, kind of overwhelming at first, but it's also really fun to make all those elements work together.

    yup- that was/is my main draw to the game: customization. If only CO was stronger in other areas..

    Same here. The character building (both costume design and theorycrafting) is so fun it almost makes up for the fact that most of the content is somewhat lacklustre.
