Aww, poor necrullitic elixir. No more "change role to support, equip gear with +100 heal strength, activate elixir, switch back".

    Release Notes for FC.31.20151015.49
This build is available on PTS as of 12/7/2015

    PTS Store Additions
    - Added Winter permanent become devices.
    - Added winter currency pack, Frozen Winter Sleigh and Millennium Spirit 903F.

    Winter Rewards

    - Fixed a bug with Icicle Spear's base damage & removed damage variance with the additional damage you deal when a target is chilled.
    - Made Ice Barrier usable while held. Its energy cost has been reduced to 0 now that it's an active defense and adjusted it's tooltips.
    - Corrected tooltips for Icy Embrace, Ice Barrier, Chilled Form, Ice Blast & its advantages.
    - Removed energy return from Shatter. This was done as Icy Embrace is now intended to fill the energy return role in Ice.

Ice Barrier Description and function - Usable whilst held? YES.

BUG: Energy Drain from equilibrium point still exists as a function of this power.

Chilled Form Description - On point!

Ice Blast Description - On point!

Icy Embrace - Functionality has improved greatly. I can finally say Bye to MSA on my Ice toon once this comes out. The only thing I'd mention is that the Icy Embrace stacks cap at 2 regardless of targets, BUT the energy returns show that it is granting more energy as intended.

Trading Window Change - Trading behavior has been changed. Trading is now a two-step confirmation process.
    1) There is now an initial acceptance step, during this step both players have accepted the current traded items.
** This acceptance is indicated by yellow borders around the traded items.
** Both players must accept the trade before trading progresses to the second step.
    2) The second confirmation step begins once both players have accepted the trade.
** The list of traded items items can no longer be modified.
** The confirmation is indicated by green borders around the traded items.
** Once both players have confirmed the trade, items will be transferred.

Tried this out on PTS and it felt really secure when trading, thank you VERY much for providing this new behavior. Hopefully there'll be less to no scams.

    Additional Changes
    - Fixed a bug where Necrullitic Elixir was affected by heal buffs.
    - Added Dragon Bracers to the costume section in the Questionite Store.
    - Updated Questionite Store bind on equip costumes to not longer disable purchase once you have the item unlocked.
    - Added ice materials basic costume options in the Questionite Store.

    Necrullitic Elixir change...*nods*

    Yes! More Ice!

Currently the Questionite Store prices them at 150k Q per material unlock...can this be altered to something like...55kQ instead? It just seems a little pricey at 150kQ...

Bug: Male > Hair A > Pompadour / Hair B Pompadour - Missing Ice Material
Bug: Male > Eyebrows > Robotic > Missing Ice Material

Suggestion: Add the Winter Event store to Toymasters assistant as well as elves - it feels unintuitive compared to previous events that the store is not available from the event npc.

For what the ice material packs cover, I think 150,000Q per pack is kinda high but seems like higher pricing on items is something we are gonna have to get used to.

Bug: Short tight boot is not unlocking an ice texture.

Bug: New Action figures are listing as 'Special Edition: Villains" not "Special Edition: Adorable Mascots"
  • draogndraogn Posts: 1,269 Arc User
The reduced prices in the winter vendor are still overpriced. Especially with the limited amount of time available to gather the currency. Korean grinders aren't popular outside of the Asian market for a reason.

    Bug(?):
Ice options for head, hands, and feet are skin materials.
Ice options for chest and legs are tights materials.

    Seems inconsistent.

    Suggestion:
The Frozen Winter Sleigh adds the blizzard aura to the driver. I think that addition limits its use and makes it look "busy".

    Suggestion:
Add material options to facial hair. It would be wonderful to have metallic or icy beards.

150,000 Q per Ice Materials Pack!!?? That's 900,000 Q for the set!! That's pretty damn high. It would probably be better to reduce that.

At that price I can imagine a lot of folks just not bothering even trying for them. A lower price would ensure that they are bought by more folks. Just find the sweet spot where a decent profit meets affordability then everyone wins.

900,000 Q for the set........please rethink this devs.

Oh man, ice material on everything, yet we don't have ghost material hands and feet. :(

Otherwise the ice material is awesome. Also, I agree that the ice material prices are to much. They should be between 45000 and 85000, to match the other costume options in the Q store. In fact, perhaps cheaper as we are not unlocking new costumes, just a new material for old costumes.

Things to keep in mind with the currency: There is a daily mission that gives a pack of 20 of each currency. Clarence and Black Harlequin from the alert drop packs of 5 of each currency. Currency is tradable.

Event Currency seems pretty fair to me...more than fair with being able to trade between alts. The Questionite prices on the other hand, those are a tad steep.

Just to clarify, Chilled Form is just a reskinned Concentration that scales off of different stats? There's nothing particularly "ice" themed about it other than the name, right? I'm not criticizing, just getting clarification.

I never use the default costumes, but the Icicle's is pretty nifty. Nice job.

    Suggestion:
Please add facial details to Ice face materials. I understand if patterns don't make sense (seeing how it's unclear how well they would appear" But you should be able to see the facial details through the ice.

Not in this patch, but the next pts patch the glacier will have the option to choose shatter or icy embrace at level 25. The glacier was pretty weak with energy return to begin with, so that should help them out.

That doesn't make the grind any better. Especially after the last two events and the onslaught stuff have also involved a lot of alt unfriendly grinding.

Thanks Kaizerin - I was really worried the poor Glacier was going to be forgotten. Also random but not related costume issue. The Bull Skull Helmet that the Ice Demons drop in the Canadian Wilderness... is improperly spelled as Bull SKILL helmet. It seems like a quick and easy fix to handle the costume items mispelling.

Love all the work that's being done.

Want to get to know me a bit better, Click me and take a read of My Dragon Profile Page, it's a bit dated but still relevant.

I take this quote from a review that I agree with.

"customisation is so linear; everyone is after the optimal dps:survivability ratio with 0 reliance on other players = autonomous gameplay... Players don't need each other anymore... which in my opinion is a bad thing."

Bug: Ice Barrier still costs your entire energy bar.

I assume with the wording of the patch notes that Ice Barrier is not supposed to cost any energy at all right?

Secure trading.. the Key gougers in the AH are going to wail and gnash teeth.

    Good. Filthy greeders.

Keys do not have a set price. So I don't get who is being greedy..

so the power cost is 0 energy, but the "set energy to 0 on use" effect is still intact.

100g has been the standard. The AH scalpers charging 150%-200% more than that off people afraid to buy in Zone.
One of the biggest key guy doesn't even buy at that price. AH is for people to buy in bulk and instantly. Keys are worth whatever someone is willing to pay, nothing to do with greed.

Could someone potentially post a picture of The Icicle's costume? It might be possible to post a suggestion on adjusting the color layout. That said, it's not impossible that a flat look is intended.

    100g has been the standard.

While this is true, MMO economies are in fact prone to a certain amount of inflation. While scammers have some effect on trading in zone or trade channel, mostly AH prices are higher because it takes effort to buy in zone, and if you're only buying a small number of keys the extra convenience price may be worth it, and key prices in general are up because inflation.

I don't buy in Zone because of trust issues. While I have occasionally bought from friends, horror stories about being cheated scare me off. Since silver players have less options in the AH an improved trade system is welcome. For example, I've bought keys to sell in the AH for globals. Then used those globals to buy other things, including retcons.

A more secure trade system - might encourage me to interact more and buy directly from those trading. Which could mean more silver players buying keys to trade. This is good for the bottom line.

I really wish CO would reconsider allowing Silver Players on to test. Even if it's in some limited fashion. A lot of these changes have a real impact on Silvers. And silvers do contribute to the game by purchasing other things... (i.e. keys, costumes, AT's, FF-Slots, etc..).

Silvers have more reason to test the new trade system than gold players do. And might look for different things than a Gold would. The same with the AT's. As a Silver I have an interest in how the new AT plays and how the changes impact the existing Glacier. Gold players have less reason or concern to test these things.

BUG (Sorta): You can purchase costume pieces you have already unlocked from the Toy Store. Since these pieces are bound on pickup, you can really waste a lot of winter tokens by buying something you already unlocked.

If the items in the store were either bound on equip or made un-purchasable once they are unlocked, that'd be great.

I vote for BoE and have pieces already bought marked as "Purchased" but with the ability to buy as many as we like/can.

At first I was a bit worried about new becomes being bound to account. But when I realized they are transmogrification, I was greatly okay with this!

Can we make the Icy Materials in the Q store Gold item quality so as not to clog up the Auction House with all the actually rare items?

Please fix and add more powers to all those holiday and previously lockbox becomes. They are lacking powers to make it worth a purchase. Just add the necessary powers that compliment their builds. Also add working (yes working) forms on all of them.

Indeed, and the Ice materials and newly added costume pieces are hopefully going to be a Questionite sink that sees actual use since it's all BoE.

Is there any chance we could get the Ice materials that were added to the Geo set to also be added to the other costume pieces that are rocky looking...like the unlocks from Resistance and the other Rock costume pieces?

I think they mentioned in a previous PTS patch that they couldn't make store bought unlocks have the textures either. Its likely because unlocking sub parts makes the original piece available without having to pay for them aside from having to use the texture and not the base piece. It can be considered cheating your way around a costume set purchase.

I don't think you understand what I meant. The Cyber set pieces are at Gold rarity and I think these textures should be too since they are purchased at the higher end of Q value and qualifies as Gold rarity because of it.

If Questionite was as easy to get as Dilithium in STO this wouldn't be as bad.. but the way it is currently? Yeeeaahhhh..

My hope is their plan is to increase the usefulness of questionite while making it far easier to obtain in game, with some sort of upgrade/crafting system and such, taking a page out of the book of what STO does right.

30 characters doing 1 round of Vigilance will buy you the entire Ice material set. If you also managed to find time to pull every character through all Alert dailies, you could possibly do it with 10 characters or less (in the timespan of a Vigilance round). You would probably spend a lot more time that way (think 3 or so hours per day, if you manage to avoid being held up by the queue), but it wouldn't require a massive stable of characters.

On the other hand, there's a good amount of Questionite in circulation and not much to spend it on.

I didn't even consider the Q value compared to Zen. At the 150k Q per piece price, that values the set at almost $40. That's insane.

Please make each piece at 30k-45k maximum.
