I know I've been critical of things I felt pretty unnecessary or poorly designed such as the rewards for the ghost ship, or the flaws in the onslaught system.

HOWEVER I can see a trend for the better in the recent changes however imperfect I may consider them to be.

For one thing, adding turakian coins to the crypts and BITE events was an amazing change, and has at least got me interested in farming crypts and even doing BITE pvp again, which I haven't bothered with so much in years.

the vendor store has a lot of desirable cosmetic items and vehicles, and bringing back the Cursed AT as a reward for turakian coins was a move I'm sure silver players will greatly appreciate, especially ones which do not have the Scourge AT.

I'm personally gonna farm for the vehicle first, then probably work on getting myself some of those auras, as I have ideas for them.

I hope to see more positive additions like this as the team gets more experience with the game.

I'll be critical when I think something needs improving or changing, but I DO appreciate the attention given to the game.

I like these changes and additions. The ghost ship is one of those things that'll need to be buffed rather then nerfed, which is also a nice change.

BITE pvp event should have given more than 5 coins. I get the 1 treasure box = 1 coin on a 60% chance, but the pvp event requires to kill a 100 players. Given that hardly any players (5-10 at best) visit the pvp area, 5 coins for the mission isn't really worth it.

3 tokens may not seem like much but it was really neat that they included them as a reward for doing ZA during this event. I've always liked ZA a lot so I can see myself playing it a bunch over these next few weeks. Crypts and the daily mission seem like your best bet if you want the most tokens as fast as possible... all other methods are much slower and/or not as reliable.

Zombie Apoc is more active than it's been in ages, so it's obviously accomplished something.

The fact if a tank starts out as the zombie they're utterly screwed doesn't help.

Depends on the tank; being survivable is very nice, but you also need pretty heavy spike damage which not all tanks have. The people who are really screwed as zombies are healers.

I give them points for adding something to the game, I remove points for it being almost a direct copy and paste from City of Heroes.

but nice for those who can enjoy the mode in spite of the frankenbuilders I suppose.

I like that they have new rewards since I have all the previous ones. I do not like how you have to acquire them though. It is hard to defeat the Harbinger of Woe by yourself and I prefer to play solo. I'm assuming you can get coins from the pirates in VB which would be fine if you didn't have to wait over half an hour to do the event each time.

Any mid to high range build can solo the harbringer of woe easily, but some ATs may have problems. Those were originally classed as 3-man missions, though people were soloing them even at the start.

I find with the squishier ones, ranged- not melee. use the columns to block his line of sight when e tries the drain, yu can use a quick heal device behind if necessary.
melee- I pack as many heal items **** I can and block a lot

Well, build freedom includes the freedom to make appallingly bad builds, and if you expect the game to be doable with appallingly bad builds, that makes it easy for everyone else.

Yes, but as I keep pointing out, there are several other MMOs in the same area of fully free customizable builds, and miraculously they seem to have avoided this issue of one build to rule them all syndrome that Champions has going for it right now. That's also probably because they included checks and balances in their system that diminishes attempted stack of certain powers and abilities on top of each other.

Enjoyable, "Unsoloable" content is a pipe dream

Check out the rest of the mmo industry. It's a pipe reality. I don't know how you can continue to act as though group content is some sort of niche concept. No, CO is not some special unique snowflake where team content does not work... that's the real pipe dream here. We all want to believe that CO is somehow special and different, but it isn't, and neither is its audience.

I have to wonder, when you say "difficult to solo" if that means the same thing to you that it does to me. To me it means only the most hardcore, skillful players can complete it solo; not just everyone who can copy a build. Essentially it would mean something like this: a boss fight intended for teams, where the boss throws out attacks that have to be reacted to in a specific way every half second, and normally each attack targets a different team member, but when you solo it you have to deal with every single attack and it becomes a constant rush to react in the correct way, often when the previous attack puts you in a situation that makes that difficult ( i.e. one attack makes you have to get close to the boss, the next attack requires you to get to max range ).

An issue is, of course, some people are going to cry themselves to death if these fights ever involve attacks that you have to react correctly to or die, regardless of your build, because these people feel like they have the privilege to just stand there and mash while ignoring all fight mechanics. These people are a confusing sort... because they're playing an action mmo but cry their eyes out every time anything remotely action-based shows up - for all their chortling about the trinity, these people clearly want to play something like wow where standing there and mashing class abilities is the norm. They don't seem to understand that advertising a game as "action" based, but then the reality being that you just have to stand there and mash heals and attacks amounts to bait and switch.

Bit of a rant in there I guess.

Overall the Boodmoon changes are great. And I'm silver with no FF access right now. The crypts are hard on lower level toons - but I think after lvl 20 or so they aren't so bad.

I've also soloed the Harbinger of Woe enough to earn 650 Turakian Coins.. hello Cursed!!!! And I did this by just logging in an hour or so a day. Running all 13 Crypts + the Daily is an easy 100 coins. With very little effort.

Ranged seems to work best if you're on an AT. Especially if you can fly our teleport. Staying out of range of the HoW's heavy hitting powers works fine. Just have to stay active. My melee AT's had a little rougher time with him. So blocking and HOT's items were spammed a lot. But it's not like pets, debuffs, and self heals don't drop like candy in the crypts.

However, I can see low dmg AT's having some problems. He's a big sack of HP's for something like "The Mind" to take down.

    Overall - fun event.

As a suggestion for next year - I would consider adding some flying minions(like the Ifrits) to the Zombie hordes. Just to give vehicles and ranged damage snipers something to deal with.

Speaking of the Cursed AT, erm...where is it on the character creation screen? I unlocked it but it's not showing up on the UI.

I should say that I'm not a huge fan of vehicles as anything but glorified travel powers, but if you wanted to continue to introduce them into events like this I'd be very happy with that. Also, auras, I almost never use them, but I have taken the time to grab a bunch from this event. As a lifetime subscriber I loved this event and I enjoyed helping out silver players who now felt the need and desire to run crypts. I don't remember doing much more then farming devices last year but this year I'm actually doing crypts again.

Well, I'm an idiot. I didn't realize that the Cursed unlock gave you an item and then the item needed to be used instead of just instantly unlocking. This means that it may actually be tradeable or even sold in the auction.

Cursed should be tradeable, imo. I got mine the first time it came around, and the market for those things was enough to make a person legitimately set for life. I'm glad to see they brought that back, IMO at this point all of the ATs should be free.
