I am looking for a sample build of a pistols/single blade build for a hero based off of Captain Harlock. I am working on one myself, but I am not super confident on my understanding of the system. Would want mainly sword attacks, with a few supporting pistol powers, or what ever would work better. I would prefer to be a bit of a tank as well, thanks in advance!
Do not go gentle into that good night, Rage, rage against the dying of the light.
Holdout Shot and/or lunge can proc MSA, normal SB powers (bleedx5 -> Rupture) on bosses, Lead Tempest for AoE. Added Breakaway w/ adv for some CC + extra flair. Uses Regen + hybrid role for easy soloing and the ability to off-tank stuff. Dex and Con gearing focus for this.
Thanks! I was messing with the builder and came no where close to this lol. Much appreciated
Also flowcyto, can I ask you one favor, I would like to make his alien female companion Miime, she in my mind would be a cross of sorc/celestial. I would mainly do support on her, not much summoning. if I am not asking to much. Thanks

Took AoPM for the versatility- though AoRP would be better for a more defensive build. Gear focus is mostly on Pres and Con here, w/ some Dex/crit on the side.
Sorcery is overall pretty weak for single-target dps, imo. Although its AoE dps can be good due to Skarn's- it takes much energy to afford optimal dps from it. Primal Sigils can give it good overall dps to catch up to other powersets, but that's under ideal conditions where the targets is getting hit by all/most sigils and they aren't being destroyed.
As far as I see it, ya have 2 basic routes for 'dps Sorc': either a Pet build using AoED (likely in Support role, at least for groups), or a dps build using Skarn's heavily (thus demanding high energy generation).
Has strong healing bonuses, but is kinda squishy- though pet arrays can take heat off of you and allies. If pet AI is not behaving when solo, then ya can switch to Hybrid role for more personal dps. Gear is mostly divided between the 3 SS's here.
Can also use an offensive passive and the ranged dps role over Hybrid if ur fine relying on CoAP's energy for Skarn's. Basically, once ya get Avenger Mastery you'll alternate between Skarn's full channels and Eld Blast charges (which should be sped up via AvMastery). Hex rolls Trapped and MSA, and ERuin was added for its 10% debuff adv. You'd gear mostly for Int and Con here.
What would a decent force build look like? I'm using the one from your themed tank guide, moved a few things around.
I am wanting to mainly solo and do alerts. He is a kinda of punk anti government guy who was exposed to some radiation that accelerated his metabolism, and he uses the blasts from his body to dissipate the energy so he wont burn out.
Well, firstly, ya def do not want to use an energy form passive (ala Kinetic Manip) for Force Cascade builds- as FC use will disable ur passive, and on the whole that's counter-productive. There's also a bug where doing certain actions in combat can extend the duration of the EF-cancelling debuff, which makes it even worse if using an EF passive. Even then, ya dun want to make a tank build using an offensive passive.
If ya want a more tenable FC build for starters, I'd first toy around w/ AoPM. Other setups can work, ofc, but using AoPM to help w/ energy is the most versatile and convenient means of dealing w/ FC's cost. Defiance is also another solution if ur flying solo and/or building a tank, as the AoPM option is more of a dps one.
Normal rotation is Force Blast -> charged FC -> Geyser_Conviction to proc MSA, repeat. Added EW in there for another AoE and to clump mobs for FC- though Force Detonation or Eruption (or Gravity Driver) can also be nice.
Enrage can work for Force too, yea. Here's a Str-Force tank using Defiance:
Gearing here would be a bit more spread thin, as you'd want all 3 SS's (Con > Str > Int), and some End and Rec for better energy reserves (and return from Force Sheath). You'll need the blast since it has CripC on it, but otherwise ya use FC as energy allows, and UR for a burst of dmg.

I seen that it might benefit more from strength and enrage. I am trying to understand the mechanics. Btw, the single blade/pistols toon is amazing
