I'm looking for a list of Super Villains that "Lore wise" are extremely too powerful for any one hero to fight one on one.

I'm gonna vote for Zoe Loft! ...Even though she's not in the PnP.. or really a "super" villain, and definitely not powerful enough to stand up to more than one hero, heck even one hero really.. and would probably run away from Caliga, and.. I'm sorry I kinda lost my train of thought on this one, nevermind.

It's fair to point out that there are a few villains -- or at least, non-heroes -- in the published Champions PnP supplements, whose stats far exceed any NPC hero write-up: major deities, cosmic entities, and the like. This is deliberate and noted in their background text. But their intended primary purpose is not to "curb-stomp" heroes, or even to fight them. They exist mainly as plot devices, to initiate events and draw the heroes into them. Think of Marvel Comics's Grandmaster, press-ganging superheroes into playing one of his "games." Or DC's Mr. Myxyzptlk altering reality to torment Superman. These beings are almost impossible for even teams of powerful heroes to confront directly; the only way to beat them is to complete the scenarios they set up. Mind you, some of the Champions versions of such characters still have game stats, so if your group really is up to taking on foes of this magnitude, you have them already written.

OTOH there are entities in the Champions Universe who are not game-statted at all, because they embody the fundamental forces of existence. These are equivalents to the Time-Trapper, or the Living Tribunal, or comic-book incarnations of Eternity or Death. They are supposed to be impossible for any finite being to oppose, no matter how many Character Points they're built on. ;)

A small bio with the list would be nice. Im not looking for all of them, but a list of some of the main powerful bad asses of the champions universe would be nice. Looking for ideas of another commission where Caliga is heavily damaged, and losing a fight, badly.

I vote Kuuuuuuh, cause he's a void creature(i think) with near Dr.Destroyer Intelligence and Takoface dark Powers! or Humpa Dumpa who's a Timelord/cosmic entity that can shape-shift and stuff!
.....Ignore the names by the way, O3o...

    To answer the original OP a year later;

Takofanes - He was a former archmage and has the Dragon Crown, reportedly a Crown of Krim that allowed Takofanes to control the other Crowns. He's over 70,000 years old, and his former name back in antiquity was Kal-Turak, The Ravager of Men. The Blood Moon event is basically a fraction of his true power, and the ridiculousness of how under powered he actually is in game is silly. This is the only guy that Doctor Destroyer is known to fear.

Doctor Destroyer - The smartest living being on Earth, Doctor Destroyer is very old. His science is rivaled by none, with technology that many from UNTIL to the US government wishes they could get their hands on a working sample. However, Destroyer tends to have self destruct codes embedded in his devices to prevent them from being useful or turned against him. He hates magic, in fact he just believes magic is just imperfect science. He has invited people to play chess with him to challenge his mind, and those that actually play the game with him he has handsomely rewarded, while others who tried to let him win he has just killed outright. His life is maintained by his power armor, though it is not a permanent solution. He has taken over the world, literally, and planned the Battle of Detroit so he could go into hiding and be left alone to perfect his weapons and devices for battling the growing super hero menace. During the Battle of Detroit he fought multiple heroes, at the same time, to a stand still, killing several of them within the first minute of the fight, most of whom are the champions we face during Blood Moon. Doctor Destroyer is very egotistical, which is his one great weakness. He also has many henchmen at his disposal including generations of families that fly his Black Talon combat armor suits. His personal island, Destruga, is a flying fortress.

Shadow Destroyer - Coming from Multifaria, a world where all points in time collide, he is a person consumed by hate and worships at the feet of his dark masters, he controls vast dark powers and Qlipthothic energy. Doctor Destroyer has a personal grudge against this man, not because of his power, but because he dared to call himself the True Destroyer.

Gravitar - Gravitar controls gravity. Put bluntly she can decide if you are crushed into the ground or fly into space. She alters the gravity fields around targets and it is believed that her lifting capacity is at least 20 kilotons, though it is suspected to be more. Gravitar has publicly mocked Doctor Destroyer, though only when he was thought to be dead. She has fought Mechanon twice, both though have claimed victory against one another so most likely more of a draw. In short, the Rampage against Gravitar is a joke compared to the power she wields.

Mechanon - The origins of this robot are unknown, or are they? (dun dun duuuuun). Mechanon has one goal, and one goal only... the cleanse the world of that imperfection known as man. he can spawn legions of himself or his automatous bots, and is constantly upgrading himself to battle against the super hero threat. Every new encounter is always going to be tougher due to how much stronger he builds himself.

Menton - Menton is the strongest psionicist on Earth. His mental powers are strong enough he can literally control entire populations of people at a whim. He is also physically more fit than a normal person so he can hold his own against another person. His mental powers alone make him beyond formidable as he could trap people in the maze of their own mind long before they got within sight of Menton, which makes the Stronghold fight against him a joke.

The Crowns of Krim - Another group of baddies that have basically been made jokes in Champions Online, these six individuals (Dark Seraph, Bloodstone, Temblor, Force, Eclipse and Phoenix) all sport a crown which gives them large amounts of magical power. Individually, these beings are a force to be reckoned with. The strongest is Dark Seraph, who is their leader.

Grond - Grond is essentially the Hulk of Champions, with immense levels of strength and quite capable of leveling cities in his wake, he is also a victim of the worst string of bad luck ever. He's twelve feet tall, and even Doctor Destroyer exploited Grond's stupidity during the Battle of Detroit. He would be tough for even one person to handle when he's out of control.

PLOT- this is hands down THE most powerful entity ever, this decides who wins, who loses, and the outcome of every battle. you can NEVER defeat this foe.

    Plot can be defeated.

I once defeated Plot by using a relic that enabled adventures to kill the major antagonist of the piece... basically killing the main villain with a travel power.

    Long story there, but memorable.

This is why I am always amused by these responses, as players often do have abilities and advantages even in a narrative that can let them overpower the plot, quite easily.

    But hey, it's always amusing.

Interactive RPGs are certainly different from scripted stories. It's collaborative storytelling, with the "plot" being to some extent improvised by all parties involved. Although that's much less true for a computer RPG than for a tabletop one; the former can only offer a limited choice of pre-determined outcomes.

Unless the point of the adventure was to lose to the giant, that's not beating the plot -- it's just a very clever way to beat the antagonist. :)

The supreme "villain" in the Champions Universe is so far beyond the scale of mere superheroes, it's scarcely conceivable.

At the apex of the Sephiroth, the Tree of Life which is the organizational plan for the Multiverse, is the infinitely powerful Creator of all things, i.e. God, by whatever name you choose to call It: Adam Kadmon, Brahman, the Tao, the Primum Mobile, etc. But at the nadir of the Qliphoth lies the Creator's opposite, the De-Creator, the Anti-God, the Spirit of Unbeing; often called simply, the Solipsist.

The Solipsist is the ultimate destination for dying universes, which meet It in absolute annihilation. But the Solipsist is not passive; It actively seeks to unmake everything which exists everywhere which is not Itself, so only It remains.

As incomprehensible as the Solipsist is to finite beings, It's apparently possible for such beings to communicate with on some level, and even make "arrangements" with. The late Archimago, greatest Earthly sorcerer of the Twentieth Century, pledged himself to serve the Solipsist in exchange for protection from all the other evil supernatural patrons he had accepted power from and then betrayed. In his last years Archimago devoted himself to finding ways to destroy all Reality, until he died from a common heart attack.

But if the Solipsist wasn't bound by the rules of the continuum, we'd already be potato -- er, nothing. Logically, there must be parameters within which It operates. Remember, It isn't supreme in Its power; the Creator is Its match, by definition. That the Solipsist used a pawn like Archimago demonstrates that It can't achieve what It wants by Itself. That's where the potential stories get interesting: villains, and heroes, choosing or being recruited to one side or the other to serve Its interests. Comics are full of stories of fantastically-powerful entities with universe-shaking schemes, who are thwarted by brave and determined heroes fighting their way to the right place at the right time to tilt the balance, just enough.

So, here's some classic badguys from the Champions universe. I have all the old PnP books so, easy enought to pop ou "classic enemies" and list a few...

Sunburst was a test subject for the US army... testing a nuclear bomb proof suit by standing near the blast. The rest of the subjects fried a couple were mutated horrribly. But, Sunburst felt like met the sun god and received a blessing. He is a sun-worshiping meglomaniac, but a moral one who wants to purge the corrupt leaders of the world. Unsurprisingly, he has solar powers.

    Dr. Destroyer... that guy.

Black Paladin probably looks a bit too much like Caliga to be useful.

Dark Seraph Sir Denis sacrifice his own evil cult to gain the powers of a dark angel.

Firewing Champion of the Malvan arena. Once he could find no worthy challengers, Ariax Thone walked into the planet's hottest furnace to attempt to become a firewing (some strange legend from the world).. surprisingly he succeeded. Firewing ends up travelling to earth to try and find a decent fight.

    Grond yada yada

Menton looks way more interesting in this book. he has a sister named Mentalla or similar psychic strength. They were both raised by Dr. D.

Timemaster Timemaster is a scientist from a possible future, looking to overthrow its repressive regime. he poses as a supervillain to find powerful heroes to enlist to his cause. Has temporal powers.

Not the cosmic class villains really, but heavy hitters on a more earthly scale.

Except for Timemaster, all of the above are current official Champions Universe villains, and all are more or less as described above. I don't think Black Paladin has quite the neutronium-armor-smashing power level that Caliga was looking for, but Dr. Destroyer and Sunburst almost certainly do, Menton and Firewing probably do, and Grond and Dark Seraph might. But Menton, and to a lesser extent Dark Seraph, have powers beyond brute force against which Caliga might have no defense.
