Game crashes when I choose a character

After the patch I've been getting repeated crashes. I was able to log in once the first time since the patch happened...then a few hours into playing the game crashed. I have not been able to load up a character to play since. As soon as select someone from the character select screen I get a crash.

Cannot play at all right now.

Same here, even verifying the game cache crashes due to "Fatal error: Memory inconsistency 1", this only started happening constantly today. Now the game just keeps crashing not letting me play at all.

I am using the steam version of the game.

Getting error decompressing files when I try to load a character. Says to verify files in launcher. Tried ARC REPAIR and also uninstalling and reinstalling ARC. No joy in Mudsville. System has 8GB Ram and an Intel I7 quad core. Windows 10

Ok I got the same crash and am now stuck on the patcher with no way into even character selection ;-/

Patcher is not connecting anymore.....too many players online? Think we got to MC5 at some point.

Sure can't connect to the launcher at all either. No crashing on my end though. But it does sound like you guys got some corrupt files or something.

Well when redownloading the entire game doesn't help, it has to be something to do with the files in the current build.

It keeps crashing when I select a character. It starts loading and then about half-way it crashes. Right now, I can't play the game.

Join the club, I am still trying to get word from Cryptic on whether or not they are looking into the issue.

So I found out what was causing this:

Apparently if I travel to Lemuria it causes this issue.

Both characters I have tested this with are female, and I dare not try it again as I can no longer load them up.
