10/20/2014 CONTENT UPDATED!!!
- Added missing flight powers
- Added the missing archetype
- Added missing powers
- Added images to the specs (No more '?' images! Hooray!)
Official CO-Forge Website
http://www.filemakergeek.com

The compiled runtime versions can be run on:
- Mac/Windows Desktops
Minimum system requirements: http://www.filemaker.com/products/filemaker-pro/pro-13-specifications.html

The non-runtime version can be run on:
- iPad (iPad3 or better recommended) using the FileMaker Go App.
- Desktop Mac/Windows if you have a copy of FileMaker Pro installed.

CO-Forge was created entirely with FileMaker Pro Advanced v12.
CO-Forge is distributed as free software.

Known issues:
- SuperStat & Stat Substats - Some work, some do not. Recent patches have forced me to scrap many of the calculations that I finally had working. If you are aware of a current accurate calculation for a substat please send it to me or point me to the post where it can be found.
- Gear- Stats work, but the substats currently only exist for informational purposes at this point until I can begin to tie them to other attributes and calculations as I find the time.

Minimum system requirements:
http://www.filemaker.com/products/filemaker-pro/pro-13-specifications.html

iOS iPad Users
Before you download CO-Forge, download and install FileMaker Go v13 first (It is free)! Make sure you open FileMaker Go and close out of the tutorial file that it opens by default, or you will not see CO-Forge open up when you first download it and "send" it to FileMaker Go.

UPDATING FROM PREVIOUS VERSIONS OF CO-FORGE

This does not yet work under iOS for FileMaker Go. If you are updating from a previous version of CO-Forge, I would currently recommend that you email your existing builds to yourself so you do not loose them. Then delete the current copy of CO-Forge before you download the updated version to send over to FileMaker Go.

For the desktop version, I have included the ability to export and import raw FileMaker data export files which will allow you to backup your champion builds and user generated gear that you have saved and restore them in a new version of CO-Forge. This is done by clicking on tool button and choosing export or import. CO-Forge will save your backup data to your desktop by default, and will also attempt to find said backup data there when it attempts to restore (re-import) that data.

Happy building!

I will be posting an update to CO-Forge in the next couple of days. I will post here as soon as the next version is available.

What will be fixed in the next update:

    - Advantages picker has been completely redone in order to make it easier to use and to solve the refresh issue that was occurring under iOS.
    - The Invincible archetype, innate talent, and all related powers are now available for custom/freeform builds.
    - Updated all missing flight powers.

I have just uploaded the latest release of CO-Forge.

I have spent some time reformatting the text of all of the powers and also running things through a spell checker since I noticed a few things were misspelled from the CO Wiki website.

The rest of what this update contains was mentioned in my previous post above.

If you have any characters saved, you should export them so that you can re-input them into the new version if that is important to you.

I will keep you up to date as I make improvements and release new versions.

    Happy Champion Building!

How exactly should i do that .. i only see "Coming soon! Character Data Export and Import"
    when i click on tools.

And without that, the whole design where Program-Data and User-Data is in the same Database
is not really good. When i made Access Application i always splitted them in a Code-DB
and a User-DB that was linked as external, so i could only give a new Code-DB to my
Customers without that they lost their data.

If you click on the "Output" button, you will have options to export as a plain text file, export to email, or to send the formatted data to your clipboard so that you can paste it somewhere.

Just so you know, the import/export option is the next thing I am working on right now in order to make upgrades less of an issue until I can get the upgrade process completely automated.

As for your suggestion to use a separation model design approach, I normally go that direction with my commercial solutions, but you need to be aware that I started this design with iOS as the intended platform in the beginning, and from that perspective, a single file approach is more preferable on that platform because it simplifies things for the end user. My intent has also been to try to keep the processing overhead down as much as possible so that the iOS users don't get their responsiveness bogged down.

I still have a good chunk of testing left to do (especially on iOS) but be aware that my intent is to make the upgrade rollouts a one-click affair for everyone regardless of platform. This may mean that I might wind up separating out the user data into a separate file, or it may not, depending on how my testing goes. I do thank you for your suggestion though because I know your intent is to help me make this a better solution.

Yeah, i found the export of course .. but no way to import it, so i also even don't know
in what format i should export it, or if in the end you will use a totally other format
    for the import.

So at the moment the only way to use the new version means loss of all characters ?

The program looks nice, but that just makes it a total no-go at the moment :frown:

The plain text export will not be the same as the new raw data export/import that I am working on to simplify upgrading. So yes, for now, if you upgrade, you will need to save the data and re-enter it based on what you exported.

I am hoping to have the raw data export/import working by sometime this next week, so the good news is that you will not have to wait long. :)

But then the export will again only be availabe in a newer version, so at the moment
it makes no sense to use the current version and type everything in there again, cause
that again will be lost .. right ?

Hi thanks for all your hard work, but I can't see how to select anything. I assumed clicking on a box would select it, but it doesn't. Thus when I click on INT for my primary super-stat, nothing happens. What am I doing wrong?

I will say this first just in case you accidentally started out by creating an archetype build instead of a Custom build: If you are creating and archetype character and not a custom/freeform, you will only be able to change your talents, powers (only the ones that have a green dot next to their slot name) , spec tree abilities, and gear stats.

That being said, if you are creating a custom build, all of the screens generally work from left to right.
    - The items you choose from are listed on the left side.
    - The description of the current selection "that you clicked on in the list on the left side is in the middle.
    - The slots where your choices are stored are on the right side of the screen.

The first superstat slot (Primary) at the top right will be selected for you by default (It will have a lighter blue background than the other 2 slots. You should be able to click on a superstat of your choice from the list on the left to "fill in" the primary slot at the top right of the screen. You can then click/tap on either of the remaining slots on the right side to change the slot that you want to modify.

    Make sense?

Since the export/import is a make or break deal for you, then yes, you should wait to upgrade until I have that issue addressed.

For those who do not have a lot of characters that will need to be re-input, it takes less than a minute per character to do it if you have the info printed out or opened up in a separate window.

I have just put the finishing touches on the gear saving and loading engine. This means that you will be able to save any gear that you input and use it on other builds to save time.

It was critical that I finish the code for saving/loading user generated gear first since it will affect the upgrade process that I am working on.

I have also added the "(Blast)" descriptor to powers that are classified as blast powers in relation to the spec tree.

I have also cleaned up the advantage descriptors and made a few more minor interface tweaks as well.

When I have time I will post this small incremental update sometime tomorrow.

That being said, in regards to a smoother update process, I will let you know once I finish the import/export update sometime this next week. I have a busy week next week traveling for work, but I will do my best to try and get this done in my spare time.

Trouble is I am doing exactly what you suggested and I can't get it to work. Not sure what is wrong, but in case it makes a difference I am using Chrome.

CO-Forge does not use a web browser. My solution is a stand-alone runtime application that you have to download and then run on your local machine (PC/Mac). Either that, or you have to have FileMaker Pro or FileMaker Go installed in order to download and run it using the uncompiled version of the file.

If you are using PowerHouse, you should direct your question to the thread for the PowerHouse web-based tool.

If you are using CO-Forge, I would be curious to know if your OS meets the minimum requirements:

    http://www.filemaker.com/products/filemaker-pro/pro-12-specifications.html

I have download the version that is currently available and tested it under XP and Windows 7 just to make sure there was nothing wrong with the compiled version. I would venture a guess that it might be something to do with your OS install, or the files are locked/write protected for some reason on your system.

FYI: I have updated my first post in this thread to add the system requirements since that was an oversight on my part.

I have been sick with the flu for the better part of a week, so my initial plans to get the latest update out last week were put on hold as a result.

I am working on getting the latest release ready today. This release will allow non-iOS users to do raw exports/imports of champions and gear. This feature is designed to allow you to make a backup of all your characters and gear so that you can delete your old version of CO-Forge, install the new version and import all of your previous work.

FYI, due to my being sick, I am still working on getting the iOS export/import working.

I will post here again as soon as this new version is available for download.

Just wanted to give you all a heads up. I am working on trying to get an official website going for CO-Forge so that they can sticky this thread finally.

I am also working on my next release which will finally allow iOS devices to backup and restore their characters when they update to newer versions of CO-Forge. I hope to have my latest release out by the end of next week. Real life has been keeping me super busy (moving to a new place) Ugh! So bear with me.

Thank you for creating and sharing this app. It is definitely a big help and I really like the extra tips/suggestions that it comes with. Of course, its interface is quite a pleasure to look at as well, clean and organized (although some icons for the specializations are missing for some reason). Hats off to you, Sir! I do hope that they sticky this thread

First off, I want to thank you for the hard work you put into making this program, it is quite frankly in a word, awesome.

After a bit of plucking around and finally figuring out which of the above links was the actual program, I got it up and running without a hitch. It appears to still be in a bit of a beta state as things are incomplete, but the layout, the UI, the intuitiveness, and ease of use are all outstanding.

I'm not sure if you are taking suggestions, or whatnot, but, so far the only thing I would like to see the program do is allow me to view all the spec tree skills for a character instead of having to select 5 in the first row in order to open up the second row, which in turn opens up the next spec tree, which in turn opens up the third and final tree. That's a lot of clicking just to get to the 3rd spec tree.

If all 3 trees could be selected and viewed that would be swell.

Other than that, I love this program. Thank you very much for writing it. I eagerly await the next update.

Ashlocke was my original forum name but was unable to keep it during the PW forum migration. *Shakes Fist* :frown:

    You are welcome!
The icons are missing because no one has yet posted a complete set anywhere online. Unfortunately, I do not have characters of sufficient level to really kick the tires on the spec lines, so I have to make due with what has been posted so far to CO Wikki. If anyone is able to take some screenshots of anything that is missing, feel free to send them to filemakergeek@gmail.com and I will make sure the missing spec images are added.

I am glad you like it! I will see what I can do about making the spec tree a bit more accessible in the next release.

The next release will include the Night Avenger framework, more flight abilities, and an update to the spec tree descriptions as well as bug fixes to the upgrade process. I will let you all know here once I am done and have it available for upload.

It looks like the site and the file still exist. But the bandwidth is terrible, like 90s terrible. It would also be worthwhile to update the original post with the new links since dropbox is obviously no longer the source.

Links are 404, so perhaps it's time to unsticky?¨

Edit: http://filemakergeek.com/?page_id=11 still exists, so that was perhaps premature. The links in the OP are dead though.

Oh, and the application itself hasn't been updated for a while, there's several powers, and at least one innate missing. It might be for the best to unsticky it after all.

The server does not appear to have any speed issues at all from what I can tell...

I did some tests on downloading the files and I can get the largest file (70MB) in under 30 seconds.
However, I suppose your mileage may vary depending on you location and any network bottlenecks between you and the server.
