How do you recover?

So one of the more interesting aspects of these types of games is how players recover from bad situations, i.e. how they get out of a situation that is killing them, get their health back up, and return in a better position. So my question is simple: How do your characters recover?

If your answer is "I spam heals while continuing to dps everything around me", then feel free to just respond with the phrase "Standard method", or some sort of argument for why I should feel bad for asking this question.

Depends on the situation. Each one has its own required techniques, paticularly taking into account the character concerned. The Other One has that move where you backflip away while shooting; Honey Badger just lets his Regeneration handle it, because Honey Badger don't give a f; Happifun retreats until all enemies are in the forward arc, then unleashes Fire All Weapons.

As phrased, the question has no definitive answer.

Definitive Answer: When in a bad situation, ZE2424 will rapidly move away from whatever is killing her, and flip on Reconstruction Circuits. If outdoors, Jet Boots is generally fast enough to get her away; indoors she will hold block while moving away with Energy Slide, trying to get behind cover. Once back to full, she moves back in until at max range and picks off targets with long range attacks. Rinse and repeat.

I think what you meant to say was that you didn't understand the question.

Spinny, your answer shows that it can only be definitive if you only play one character. Each of mine has a different response, based on the fact that they all have different powers (Patchwork's conversion of her Muni-Bots to Turret Mode isn't going to be very helpful to the heavy-weapon-wielding Kilbern Skyfather, now is it? And while Spider-Bat's version of Block will also damage his enemy once every six seconds, that doesn't work so well for the classic "flying brick" Hypernova).

Reconstruction Circuits, block the big hits, and make sure I still spam Plasma Beam + Challenging Strikes enough to maintain aggro on the boss.
Choose your enemies carefully, because they will define you / Make them interesting, because in some ways they will mind you
They're not there in the beginning, but when your story ends / Gonna last with you longer than your friends

So give a response for each, or just the ones you feel like, or none at all. Hell go run through a field while a dog you don't know follows you. I still don't see how this is difficult. Hell I'm starting to think you fell out of bed this morning and are just being grumpy and stubborn for the sake of doing so, in which case I invite you to reconsider the field with the dog.

Currently on Sylviana, Evasive manuvers, Conviction, Reactivate BCR and make sure the enemies are lined up for another big ol' force cascade.

On kinesis I just make sure things die, I have little chance to recover except a brief time in stealth, minimal heals, not even conviction, just Nanobot swarm advantage. Kinesis lives by her damage and stims.

Sounds like you dps things while spamming heals... i.e. "Standard method" ;3

I generally try to go for the general method of popping active defense, blocking, waiting for health to come back via Regeneration and then go back. If they don't have regen: block, back off, conviction, BCR and then get back in. Kinda lazy, really.

I use those healing items you get from the vendors in Ren Cen on all my characters. Other than that, few of my characters have self-healing powers. Heck, with Rodeo I use a Masterful Dodge and Holdout Shot combo and block, hoping for the best.

When I get pinned to the corner and overwelmed for taking up more than I can chew, I usually just activate both Reconstuction (Not Ranked up) and Unbreakable(I get stacked of enrage when this is active). I have Support drones (Ranked up to 3 and With the Commander as my last Specilization so they can last longer in combat to heal, there merely there to keep me alive (Others too) and first line of defense). I have Energy Wave for its Damage and gives me a free shield and Energy Shield Block Power (Maxed out).

I am pretty durable but I love pushing my character to his limits. But I had not been in much bad situations or tough enemies overwelming me I don't get that much.

[Off-Topic, I think] - My abilities: Clobber, Mighty Leap, Defensive Combo, Uppercut, Shockwave, Energy Wave (Advantage, Shield and Reverse Polarity pulls rather than pushes), Enrage (Rank 2 and Endorphin Rush), Howl, Unleashed Rage, Reconstruction, Unbreakable and Invulnability. I don't use any knock powers in any of my builds anymore a lot of people hates them so I eliminated it all except for Uppercut.

The Ability Above applies only to my main character, My other characters though they are not that durable so I usually just block and if need be hide for awhile until I can heal back up. Best option is just for everyone to fall back and regroup there is no shame in disengaging from combat. Know your limits.

Hiding behind objects usually works. A lot of the time using a device that does AoE knocks or holds works too. Crowd agro is the best way to stop the mobs from killing you.

1.outside, fly straight up and hope they don't fly.
2.block and hit a heal if I have one.
    3. block and then fire as they run towards me.(plasma beam, gatling gun)
    4. hope regen works fast, hit resurgence if it doesn't.
    5. hit ascension- oh hang on, yes one character has it.
    6. hit masterful dodge and BCR, keep attacking and hope for the best.
    7. die, res and run back.
    8. break line of sight and drink potion
    9. don't break line of sight and still drink the potion.
    10. keep firing and hope they die first

I actually did that to Messiah once. Well when I said I ...I meant everyone who was in BASH with me...he got confused, swore at us all and rage quit. It was glorious.

so he behaved normally for when he loses an " I don't lose Pvp" "I can beat anyone one on one without using devices."
That second was followed by him dueling someone, getting caught using eruption and then when rechallenged saying he's waiting on the Cooldown.

It depends, really, on the toon I'm playing and what I'm fighting. Most of my builds are set so that they auto-regen by defeating mobs (Quarry/Fair Game, Quick Recovery/Rush of Battle specialisation), which means they have to be played quite aggressively, but this can leave you short with bosses who don't spawn minions. Conviction and an AD of some kind (Resurgence or Invulnerability) are normally in there somewhere as cover.

The Versatility adv on Acrobatics/Athletics increases movement speed under fire so that helps with Plan B, which is basically to get the heck out of the line of sight, and use an AD/healing device.

With my AT / healer toons like a Radiant or Grimoire, I tend to use holds/kb to disperse mobs, and then it's just a race between the speed of my heal and the enemy's DPS. Doesn't work too well with bosses, so you need another distraction - sidekicks, or pets.
